Baar Baar Dekho has performed poorly on its opening day at the box office, as the film has collected Rs 6.81 crore on Friday. For a film that was expected to touch the 10 crore mark, Baar Baar Dekho was way below expectations on Friday.
The Sidharth Malhotra starrer opened well at major cities on Friday morning, but it’s at smaller cities where the collections were very poor throughout the day.
Business in Mysore circuit was affected because of Karnataka Bandh and the film probably lost around 5% of its business from cities like Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore.
Inspite of all the city tours, aggressive promotional campaign and chartbuster music, Baar Baar Dekho has still failed to get a good initial. The lead cast was probably the biggest negative for the film. Even the concept of time-travel is difficult to sell at non-metro cities.
Katrina Kaif’s box office pull is fading. Fitoor was one of the biggest disasters of the year and Baar Baar Dekho will find it extremely difficult to recover costs. The film has to show growth of 30% or more on Saturday, which will be difficult because the word-of-mouth is mixed at major cities and negative at smaller centres.
The opening is at around the same level as ‘Kapoor & Sons’, but Baar Baar Dekho had a much wider release.

It’s a poor prediction, but even the trade that’s against such niche multiplex films, was expecting Baar Baar Dekho to collect 8 crore plus on Day 1. Was it a case of expecting more than the film is capable of? Possibly, because even a film like Tamasha with a much bigger star cast and director, opened only at 11 crore.

Poor collection
Frankly speaking 2016 is bad year for Bollywood. Both Fan and MohenjoDaro were huge upset. Houseful 3 should have collected 160+ but it wasnt the case. Dishoom was expected to do 100+. Expectation from Dhoni’s Biopic, ADHM, Shivaay, Dangal is huge, hope none of this movies upsets any1. Rock on 2 and Dear Xindagi can be clean hit because of franchise and SRK factor respectively. Lets not expect anything from Befikre.

Baar Baar Dekho lead star casts spoil the ‘it’ factor from the movie. Siddharth Malhotra is ruining his own career, he should do something to reinvent himself.
Actually, only music can’t save the film that’s for sure. General audience are losing their faith on production houses like Dharma,YRF, etc. These production houses are capable enough to financially support good cinema and revolutionize Indian Cinema, but they are spending crores of money to make crap films.
The collection is average. You should not consider buzz or expectation.
And let the, “This movie is too much to understand for Indian audience” celebrations begin!

Shivaay title track releasing tomorrow at 10am. To be honest, this is the most anticipated song since the trailer has been released. Many Bollywood news portal didn’t include Shivaay as one of the most anticipated movie of 2016 but Shivaay is underdog of the underground. Right now Shivaay has become the hottest film on the trade circle and buzz is high. This buzz will reach the whole new level after Shivaay songs get released.
I told you these bunch of youngsters like Arjun, Ranbir and Sid do not have any star power. They are all craps and dependent on their female costars for big openings.
Since Kat has lost her stardom, this Sid could not bring any audiences to theatres..

It was a pretty good film. Atleast it was different and not like the usual romcoms and also had a great message – To live in the present and enjoy small moments. BUT NO – WE WILL COMPLAIN WHEN RECYCLED GARBAGE IS PRODUCED AND NOT GO AND WATCH MOVIES WHERE SOMETHING NEW IS TRIED! Hopeless Indian audience #NRI
The opening day collections are pretty underwhelming to say the least . The buzz of BBD was much better than K&S but the first day collections are less than K&S . The movie was never looking exciting from the trailer itself . The songs were appreciated but it is not enough to pull audience in Cinemas . If BBD fails it will be a huge setback for Katrina after Phantom and Fitoor . It will be her 3rd failure in 13 months . For Sid this will be his 3rd failure after HTP and Brothers if the collections do not pick up in the next 2 days . K&S, Ki & Ka and A Flying Jatt collected more than BBD on 1st day . All these movies had low buzz as compared to BBD . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In that case they have a blockbuster concept but the director fails to make a blockbuster product out of it.
Its a nice movie , better than 90% of bolly craps. But I personally feel sid s a miscast. The storyline revolves around him and a more
experienced n mature actor can do justice dis role. Surprisingly I liked kats performance, she looks pretty n she acted quite well I think.
Ram kapoor n Rajit Kapoor is n their prime form n Sarika mam s wasted.
Indian audiences never enjoy complex n layerd storytelling , n baar baar dekho s complex n d storyline is unique .
Art direction , cgi , music s good.
Editing n direction is avg , but still
gives a big thumbs up to dis 1 because bollywood should try to make diff films like dis . And we should support them for that.

Rom.coms are not working. Even the multiplex audicence is not liking this kind of cinema.
ADHM will also gonna have the same fate.
People are over estimating its title track but in reality its just an above average song and not a chartbuster. Its PR of kjo at work.
A mass song like kala chasma did not bring d audience to theaters then how can a class just good song of ADHM can bring audience. Think

Movie isn’t that bad but collections are surprisingly low.
This plastic doll Katrina deserves it.
When Salman was going through bad phase before Wanted… she wanted to end relationship and move on.
When Akshay was going through bad phase 2013-2015 she rejected some films opposite Akshay.
When Ranbir is going through his bad phase they broke up.
But the table has turned. Salman is the biggest star now …Akshay is getting back in the game with box office hits and Ranbir all set to bounce back soon. It’s katrina’s loss. She will suffer the consequences of her decisions.

No strong lead actor to pull audience
just imagine akshay with katrina in kala chashma this film would have taken 15 cr opening…hope akki takes katrina in his upcoming films with hit music..
The kala chashma track is already popular back in late 90’s so that track popularity is nothing to do with buzz of this film. When you try to create buzz with already popular song, you got the result. The most important factor is brilliant trailer, after that music can push the opening but if trailer not create any mark than how can someone expect close to 9-10cr opening. Among new actors only Varun dhawan can give decent to good opening to his own. Accept or die.
Regarding the so called chartbuster ADHM title track, I have clearly mentioned it is a good track who become superhit but don’t expecting much more from that song. The kind of curiosity Shivaay trailer has made gonna create the bigger impact.
Some people said that raees should be release on bakri eid weekend…. Thank god they didn’t release…
But what I think is I didn’t see bakri eid as a festival season…. It just regular weekend
