Akshay Kumar has announced his next film with his ‘Baby’ and ‘Special 26’ director Neeraj Pandey. The film, titled ‘Rustom’, will release in theatres during the Independence Day weekend next year.
Interestingly, the same weekend has been booked by Ashutosh Gowariker’s ambitious period film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead.
Not only does it set up a massive clash between superstars like Akshay and Hrithik, but it’ll also be a clash between two of the most acclaimed directors in the industry, Neeraj Pandey and Ashutosh Gowariker.
Hours before his 48th birthday, Akshay made the announcement on Twitter.

It’ll be Akshay’s loss for sure. Already his movies are not doing that well and now he is clashing with Hrithik’s mega movie ‘Mohenjodaro”.Mohenjo is the most awaited movie of 2016.Akshay is all about quantity. He has 5/6 releases every year. But Hrithik is all about quality. People wait one or even 2 years to watch Hrithik’s movie.So audience will definitely choose quality over quantity. Nothing against Akshay though. I hope he pre or postpone Rustom. I guess these people haven’t learnt anything from last year. Just look at what happened to that flop kid Shahid when he dared to clash against Hrithik. People can give Akshay’s movie a miss but with Hrithik it’s a must watch movie for them. And then you have got the best director-producer and best international music director and team for Mohenjo Daro. What else you need. Mohenjodaro is a mega movie and will achieve mega success. No doubt about it

Rustom might be releasing on 15th August 2016 and it will have only 1 week run.LOL!
