Akshay Kumar has announced his next film with his ‘Baby’ and ‘Special 26’ director Neeraj Pandey. The film, titled ‘Rustom’, will release in theatres during the Independence Day weekend next year.
Interestingly, the same weekend has been booked by Ashutosh Gowariker’s ambitious period film ‘Mohenjo Daro’ starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead.
Not only does it set up a massive clash between superstars like Akshay and Hrithik, but it’ll also be a clash between two of the most acclaimed directors in the industry, Neeraj Pandey and Ashutosh Gowariker.
Hours before his 48th birthday, Akshay made the announcement on Twitter.

Yarr not getting what’s the intention of Hrithik Roshan. I m huge fan of him and luvs him a lot. He is going to have clash with akshay’s rustam this independence day and with my fav. Srk’s raes on 2017 republic day.

akki giving good hit .2015 3hits n 1 avg.in 2016 has 2 hit n now rustom all movies are low buget but earning upto 130cr its good collection.
One cannot predict which movie will be the winner before the release of the 2 movies. Last year, when Dilwale & Bajirao Mastani clashed at the box office, everyone including me thought that BM makers will suffer great loss at the box office. Even on release day, Dilwale earned 1˝ times that of BM. Yet, tables turned round on day 12 when BM grossed more than Dilwale & finally emerged as the winner.
So from now, I can’t say whether Rustom or Mohenjo Daro will gross more. Yet MD will earn more than Rustom on the releasing day. My hope & best wishes are for both of them, because on August 12, there will be a clash between 2 great Bollywood movies, two great Bollywood actors & 2 great directors of the industry!!! I want both movies to become hit at the box office.
