Akshay’s journey has been very inspirational: John Abraham

Actor John Abraham, who has shared screen-space with Akshay Kumar in several comedy movies, has said that Akshay’s journey in the film industry has been very inspiring for him. He also called the superstar a self-made man.

“Akshay’s journey in the film industry has been very inspirational. He is a self-made man himself. He got into the industry in around 1985 and I got in around 2003, but our journey has been similar. Although he is a much more successful actor than I am and I respect him a lot” John said on the TV show ‘Yaar Mera Superstar’.

John also credited his growth as an actor in the comedy genre to Akshay.

“We have done three movies together – ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Desi Boyz’. I love comedy as a genre and whatever I have learned in comedy, it’s from him. That is the reason I call him ‘guruji’ and he calls me ‘sundi’,” he added.

John awaits the release of his action film ‘Rocky Handsome’ this weekend. The film will be up against last week’s release Kapoor & Sons and the Hollywood’s superhero film ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’.

The episode of ‘Yaar Mera Superstar’, where John will be talking about Akshay and a lot more about his career, will be aired on Tuesday.

The episode of “Yaar Mera Superstar” featuring John will be aired on Tuesday on Zoom.

  • @Beast But srk is still a self made star unlike your favourite who used to visit producer’s office saying I am salim sirs son.And it doesn’t look nice when a salman fan talks about acting

  • Only two actor in bollywood… SRK…n AKKI… life are really inspiration. they are true self made actor…n very hard working actor ever in bollywood.
    #ton of respect to both.

  • ha ha ha. what a joke. many people are calling gobar a superstar. lol. doing 4-5 films is not a big deal when most of your films are mediocre and headache to the audience. I feel pity for the producers who are foolishly wasting their money on this flop star called akshay. he is neither talented, nor a class actor. he is not even a star. when superstars are crossing 200 cr and 300 cr, akshay is still remaining a 60-80 cr club actor. star my foot? most number of flops/disasters and most number of crap movies. he should be given a side role roles and stop wasting audience’ time with his crap torturous acting. he better retire now.

  • No doubt about that. Great person and a great star/actor. Remains away from controversies and a family person. Completely committed to his work. Have heard about his good habits of punctuality and starting the day early something missing in many other top stars. One of the five senior actors who have survived/flourished for more than 25 years and still going superb. Looking forward to all his movies.

Love his style and his smashing personality.

His moving away from the masala movies and opting for content oriented movies like Special 26, Baby, Airlift etc. has not only pleased his fans but also the neutral fans like me.

Cant think of any negative thing about him.

It is just that he has a particular fan Sunny Akiholic here at Indicine who makes it a point to unnecessarily irritate fans of all other actors be it SRK, Salman, Ajay or Amir in every other article which eventually leads to bashing of Akshay. Even in this article he has to bash John who is all praise for Akshay.

  • @Challa : Were you the producer whom Salman visited and asked for work ? Salim sir refused to help him, have you even seen his interview ? Tera star self made hai toh dosron ke baare mein kuch bhi bolega kya ? Gone mad ? I guess you were not even born when Salman made his debut., so STFU and bother about FAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it doesn’t looks nice for fan of an actor who lectures others in Yalle and shows his real behaviour Wankhede !!!!!!!!!!! Lol
