I geniunely think Akshay Kumar could be back with a bang next year.
- Once Upon A Time in Mumbai 2 (OUATIM 2) should be a good film, something Akshay has not had in the last few years, and coupled with Ekta Kapoor’s promotion should do well. My Prediction: 65 crores +
- Rowdy Rathore has generated a good hype, and with action being the flavour of the season this could well be a success for Akshay. Also the movie carries far more mass appeal than OUATIM 2, if it goes down well with masses this could be a return to form for Khiladi Kumar. My Prediction: 85 crores +
- Housefull 2 I am not expecting much from. This brand of cinema has never appealed to me much, but it does to some and will probably do very well. However, the Akshay Kumar brand of mindless comedies does not sell as well as it once did (note: Thank You) Not my kind of film but will probably do very well. My Prediction: 75 crores +
- Joker 3D is a worry, I am not too convinced it will open well and Shrish Kunder is at the helm, his last script Tees Maar Khan was shamefully bad. I think this could well be a downer and big flop. My Prediction: under 50 crores
- Khiladi 786 could go either way, a lot depends on whether it releases on Diwali and alongside SRK’s next. If it does, it could well go the Action Replay way, however if it manages to stay clear it should do well in its opening weekend, particularly at mass centres, however given its a script written by Himesh Reshammiya’s, chances of sustaining are close to zilch. My Prediction: 60 crores+
So to summarise, I reckon Once Upon A Time in Mumbai 2 will be Akshay’s best film, Rowdy Rathore his biggest hit, and Joker 3D a disaster. Could potentially be a superb year for Akshay, with 3 hits, 1 average grosser, and one unfortunate flop.

I agree with them but i’d say that rowdy rathore and housefull 2 would be 100 crore plus grossers and joker 3d would either be a big flop (under 50 crores) or a huge git (100 crore plus).
Joker is definetly a disaster movie and rowdy rathore ouatim 2 khiladi 786 will depend on story and housefull is definitely a hit

Addition to 200 crore movie predictions: sorry about this indicine but can you also add this to my comment submitted earlier by Anonymous
This does not mean that these are the only films that can enter the 200 crore club and nor is it an effort to bring down any other film or superstar. There may well be other films that can achieve this magical figure if as a package the movie is great for example a movie with a superstar, a good script and and a good production house, director and great songs. For instance the untitled yash raj movie with Shahrukh Khan in it and/or any other film releasing that is touted to cross the 100 crore net box office mark in India could well go on to set higher benchmarks.

OUATIM 2- It’s gonna be HIT. Because budget of Balaji Telifilm’s movies always remain under 40Cr and seeing the performance and acclaim of first part, it will surely emerge as HIT. Clash needs to be avoided. The trio of Ekta Kapoor, Milan Luthria and Rajat Arora never can go wrong.
Rowdy Rathore- Above average!
Housefull 2- HIT . It will be HIT because of brand. Movie will be crap.
Joker- It’s gonna b biggest flop of year. Reasons- Shrish Kunder’s past stuffs + No class appeal will be in movie as the story relates to villagers n all that+ SRK’s fans will run down the movie- Negative WOM- Because of Shrish Kunder’s nonsense over Ra. One
Khiladi 786- The Brand KHILADI is nowhere nowadays- Average!
akshay will be back for sure. all of his movies will work. he is a complete actor
i am a big salman fan as well as big akki fan also and its unfair with akki that his movies are not doing well at box office. i mean if person clearly compare golmaal 3 with akki’s desi boys people can tell which movie is better. desi boys is way better than other films like rockstar, mere brother ki dulhan. after 3 khans akki is fourth bigger star.
Rowdy Rathore is a remake of Telugu Film Vikramarkudu which is a mindless comedy. An era of mindless comedies is gone and Akshay Kumar will once again regret for this. He is a good actor and should focus on doing good films not some cheap comedies.
Akshay should be genuine 4rm heartz…
Kiladi 786 must postpone or may not clash with SRK’s next.
if happens film will surely huge affect in boxoffice.
This year akki’s 3 movies definetly cross 125cr+ mark (outim2 , HF2 ,rowdy rathore) and khiladi 786 (80cr+) but i m not sure about joker-3d but it also gave profit to his producers.

SRK delivers 1 movie averagly at a gap of 1 yr. so public becomes excited to watch a superstar’s movie. dat happend to RA.ONE , the movie fell from first monday unwards…. history uthake dekh lo jab bhi SRK ki 2 se jyada movies 1 saal me aai he ume se 1 jaroor flop hui hai. e.g- 2001 3 releases and One 2 ka 4, Ashoka floped, 2002 Hum Tumhare hein sanam -flop to average , 2004 3 releases SWADESH floped , 2005 -paheli ,2009 -Billu
SALMAN was giving back to back flops after PARTNER in 2007 till WANTED in 2009 den again 3 back 2 back flops and den came DABANGG. and now he is on top.
AMIR he delivers a movie at a gap of 2 yrs. whats more needed to get a huge opening. but his movies are really gud and he is a versatile actor. still he has given many flops
HRITHIK has only 5 clean hits in his 11 yr long career KNPH,KOI MIL GAYA , DHOOM2 , KRISH , ZMND.
His both movies floped last yr does it affected his status ? No
AKSHAY is the only superstar who delivers 4-5 movies in a year. and it is difficult to get a gud opening still HOUSEFULL and TMK got bumper opening in 2010 ….only because of his star power.in 2007 he gave 4 back to back hits which is a record. from 2009 till now akshay is going through a bad phase…. but it does not mean he is not a SUPERSTAR….

@ Indicine:-CORRECTION, If taha says that OUATIM 2 crosses 65 Cr mark, RR crosses 85 cr n HOUSEFULL 75Cr. i dnt agree on this, in his own comments he writes gud thngs bout OUATIM2 n nt so gud thngs for Housefull, hw can he suggest a mark which is 20 cr. higher that the 1st one!!!!!!! i suppose, UOATIM 2 will be surely a nice film compared to housefull, and also a big grosser thatn the other one….
