Earlier, Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan were expected to clash at the box office during the Republic Day weekend, what with Ajay’s Shivaay scheduled to release during the same weekend early next year.
However, yesterday it was announced that Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro would be postponed to the Independence Day weekend. The producer-director of the film, Ashutosh Gowariker, made the announcement through a press release that was sent to the media. Soon after the announcement came another big news – Milan Luthria, the director of films like Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture, will be working with Ajay Devgn on a film titled ‘Baadshaho’ – which is scheduled to go on floors later this year and release in theatres on the Independence Day weekend in 2016.
The rest of cast of ‘Baadshaho’ will be announced soon.
The second announcement once again sets up a major clash between Ajay and Hrithik on August 12 2016.
Ajay will get the better initial as mass appeal is there in his film so I am led to believe…!
Not interested for baadshao. MD might be good as it’s being directed by one of the best directors ashutosh gowarikar.

I think you have to consider many things while saying Ajay with Shetty and Srk with shetty.
First off, Shetty works only on marketing. He does no work on scripting. Shoots movies with in 3 months, there is no effort which goes in to his film compared to Hirani. Hirani is a success because of his script. Rohit because of marketing.
Initially he made some interesting films. But consider this:
1. Zakhm: Flop
2. Golmaal: A very-well made genuine comedy – Sleeper Hit
3. Sunday: Not a very big hit. Average
4. Golmaal 2: Franchise factor, comedy is still there. – Super Hit
5. All the best: Genuinely funny film – Hit
6. Golmaal 3: Franchise Again + Rip off of a classic
7. Singham: Following the footsteps of Prabhu Deva, adding some humor to it.
8. Bol Bachchan: Remake of a popular cult.
9. Chennai Express: Srk and masala for the first time. Finally a “unique thing for Shetty after Golmaal.
10. Singham 2: Franchise Again.
Notice the pattern? Shetty has 5 franchise films, 2 Not so big successful films, 1 remake of a cult classic and then he has All the Best and Chennai Express. The only remarkable success he has, it is Golmaal 1 and All the Best.
I mean look at Happy New Year. Srk fan’s haven’t accepted him repeating masala. After 108 crore weekend the film was a free fall. Chennai Express was a unique film for Srk. And there is no doubt, he has bigger fan base compared to Ajay. But Shetty is following this trend. Which is why, he is that big today!

Huge grossers without Papa – Agneepath, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, ZNMD.. even his Bang Bang with clash collected more than Ajay’s biggest grosser Singham Returns. How many more do you want? he has only done 20 films.. and 25% of his hits have come without Papa.. thats better than the success ratio of Ajay films.

I wont agree on this. Interview had a strong impact. People circulated memes of Sajid on Facebook ad twitter. Of course my comparison was an exaggeration but Sajid’s interview cost him badly. Media found a news to sell when he called Naseer Sahab c-grade and Akshay a flop. And he was giving similar interview with Komal Nahta, Masand and many others.
I mean when I read in newspaper that this moron has called Naseer Sahab c-grade, I won’t bother about his film. That’s my personal opinion, but I feel it had a very strong impact.
@Tiger – The real RAT… if Papa’s could make their son superstar.. then Abhishek, Uday and Arjun Kapoor would be top stars today.. Hrithik is a superstar and a great actor which has also worked for his father..

Again, I won’t agree with that list. Ajay is a son of a fight-master, Hrithik is a son of a hugely successful director-producer. No doubt Hrithik is immensely talented, and one of my favorites, but after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai euphoria when his career started sinking with string of flops, Rakesh Roshan gave him that much needed impetus with KMG.
KMG was followed by a critically acclaimed failure – Lakshya (my favorite HR film till date)
Again Rakesh Roshan backed him with Krrish. It was only after Dhoom 2 Hrithik started to show his domination.
Now look at Ajay. If he has string of flops. How is there to back him? Nobody. This is exactly the reason why I never bash Srk for Maya Memsaab or Guddu. Because they have no backing. Aamir Khan did this with Jo Jeeta when he was facing a bad patch. That film helped him sustain in the industry.
Ajay is very much an outsider who doesn’t have the so-called superstar “looks” which is why he loses out many films. I think we should end this debate here. Because I like both Hrithik and Ajay!
@gj007.. one last thing, Sajid Khan never called Naseeruddin Shah a c-grade actor. He just said.. there are many films that Naseer has made which he shouldn’t have made in the first place.. several c-grade films.. which is a fact.. Naseer has done many bad films..

I have been reading all the comments lately regarding the stardom of Ajay and Hrithik.
To be honest, Hrithik is far more talented and has a greater box office pull than ajay or Akshay for that matter. I know, everybody knows this. @Neeraj: I fully agree with all your points, Hrithik no matter, he has had his father to protect, he has established himself with 5 BIG films (Jodha Akbar, Dhoom 2, Bang Bang, ZNMD and Agneepath) which constitutes more than 40% of his successful films. Ajay, on the other hand, I feel is a much accomplished actor, but I don’t know why he has wasted his talent in films like Rascals, Tezz, Humshakals, Action Jackson, SOS, DTBHJ. At the moment, he definitely needs Rohit Shetty to revive himself, since again his film AJ (not with RS) has flopped badly. No matter, you ajay fans give excuses for him selecting such scripts along with some dumb salman fans who are supporting them. He has let go off his talent. OUATIM and Singham was the last film, where I enjoyed Ajay’s character and his superb performance. Otherwise, he’s been a big letdown. I am sure he’ll be back but without RS, I don’t think he will be able to go past his biggest hit in Singham Returns any sooner.

I have seen the interview. Sajid was talking about the facts. He never called Akshay a flop nor Naseer a c-grade actor. But I am talking about news which media created. Read any newspaper. They published articles like – “OMG – Sajid Khan calls Akki a flop!!!!” Naturally the negativity begins to spread. Anyway, let’s agree to disagree.
The clash won’t happen I guess since both are big films and it has to be Ajay’s movie which would be either preponed or postponed.And for all those who are claiming that SOS did better business than Jthj please check the collections of both the movies.Sos despite being a family entertainer collected less than Jthj and if we consider the worldwide collections Sos doesn’t even come closer to Jthj
Btw. I do loook forward for his next two films. Shivay and this new film with Luthria. Should see Ajay back with some intense characters unlike his disappointing ones all this last 3 years.

@Neeraj, Dhoom 2 was a franchise to one of the best movies ever produced YRf so I won’t say it worked due to Hrithiks stardom….ZNMD was hit because of Farhan and Abhey.. HR was the third lead actor of that movie. Farhan out shined him big time…Agneepath was Hrithik film but Dharma was there so don’t say it was only HR.
After KHNP, Hrithik delivered flop after flop and his career was sinking but his Papa was there and revived his career again with KMG and again in 2009, HR was going through a bad phase of his career but his Papa was there for him so basically Hrithik wouldn’t be here today if Rakesh wasn’t a director. he might be the same league as Boby deol.
Ajay has been in the industry more than 23 yrs and he has flops, disasters, hit and blockbusters in his kitty and don’t forget he never worked YRF and Dharma and still he is one of best actors today. do you know why?? because he has talent.

The promotion was an epic fail. LOL. Then he tried his best to cross 3 Idiots by inflating ETT collection, but it was outta of theatres after the manipulation reaches 199 crs. Another epic fail. LMAO.
Every kinda manipulation was done by our overrated Bhai who is struggling to give an all time highest grosser since 2 decades even with manipulation. Bhai is nothing without Masala genre. PRDP will be a huge disaster. Even salman fans are not interested about it.
