Akshay Kumar’s Airlift is the first big release of 2016. It’s also the first big clash of the year as Balaji Motion Pictures’ Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 is also scheduled to release on the same day.
The clash is going to be interesting because Airlift is not the sort of film that carries mass-appeal, so business will be limited to multiplexes – where Akshay Kumar films haven’t really opened to high occupancies in recent times. On the other hand, Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 is a sex comedy and comes under a popular franchise. The two films won’t affect each other’s business, nor will there be a shortage of screens.

- Satellite rights: ?19 crore (Akshay Kumar’s fee)
- Recovery from various other rights and branding: ?16 crore

Airlift is already a profitable film for the makers. Akshay hasn’t charged a fee for the film, but has taken the satellite rights and will take a share if the film is profitable.
Airlift has to collect around 67-70 crore in India to recover costs and around $2.5 – 3 million from the overseas markets.

KSKHH 3 is Looking for a 6 cr opening
Not a fan of akshay but fan of his hard work the negative point for airlift is clash with higly awaited porncom sequel this factor will effect the most as per singlescrn. Kkhh3 will have 15to20? screen in multplx and 40to 45? inSS so overall akshay movie if solo will not release more than 3500 scrn by this it will now effect scrn of air lift for minimum 2 weeks if content is good it may pick from 2nd week but in 2nd week their is one more clash so its chances are pretty low to collect 110cr and his ticket price will be not as high as srk movie average price I hope it crosses rowdyra best of luck will watch on Saturday
sss,my all time favorite hindi movie is swadesh,great script brilliant acting by srk and other cast.real indian culture showed in that filim,you may call its a patriotic movie.but what happened at box office,srks peak time with great script filim flop badly.
the real problem is taste of bollywood audiance,they want colorfull songs,bikni heroins,romance,mindless comedy etc.if these masala flavors include correctly then any actor can achive superhit status like akshay did in welcome,hey baby,sik and rowdy rathore.these filims also shake your kings records and some of them break srks kingdom.
but filim like baby,spl26 and has may have great script,but didnt attract the whole audiace like swadesh.

If u see there was 17cr difference in Kick’s after earning 216cr & in Baby 15cr difference by just earning 82cr
& Btw I was only talking abt T series coll.
if u see percent wise then if a t series movie earns 250cr then the coll. will be 300cr

I expect Airlift to be at least a Super Hit !!!!!!! If Akki fails to touch 100 crs this time then his fans need to stop calling him Superstar !!!!!!!!!!!! But I really want it to do more than 100 crs.

Even sp26,baby,airlift has actions to attract audience but THOSE movies has only dialogues that you have to ACT only.and ask your heart can your khiladi can act in that way,may be accordng to your fanatic opinion though in reality.andthose are Award winning movies unlike sp26,baby and don’t say now that you don’t believe in awards.
And you dumb why you’re thinking Romance is a masala element?most of the bollywood romance movies are classic.KING KHAN never did bunch of masala movies like your akki did boss,khiladi 786,gabbar,sib like useless masala movies and all are big flops,what you will say about that?or you’ll say those are not akki movies?
KING KHAN is the one WHO did least masala movies among wll.if HE would have did that repeatedly in HOLIDAYS then HE would have acquire NO.1 posItion though HE IS THE NO.1 OF ALL TIME.
