After Ghajini, 3 Idiots and Dhoom 3 – every film ended up as the highest grosser of its time – get ready for the biggest film of 2014 this Christmas, as Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani films have finally announced the release date of P.K.
Like Dhoom 3, which released a week before Christmas and took advantage of the extended 2 weeks leading to New Year, P.K will release on 19th December 2014.
“Vinod Chopra Films and Rajkumar Hirani Films, in association with Disney India, confirm that ‘P.K.’ shall release on Dec 19, 2014,” an official statement read.
Apart from Aamir Khan, P.K also stars Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.
Dhoom 3 got close to being the first film to cross the 300 crore mark, so P.K has every chance of doing so, unless films like Kick, Bang Bang or Happy New Year manage to do the same before the Aamir Khan starrer hits screens worldwide.

And for your info CEs screen space diminished to 1500 in 2nd week from 1st week 3500 screens with the release of OUATIMD……3rd week it decrased to 700 with SATYAGRAHA releasing….next week MADRAS CAFE took away more…while D3 screen space faced minimal diminishing with the release of animated MAHABHARAT……So it means in case of CE screens got more diminished compared to D3…..And also during CE there were big star studded films while during D3 there were lesser known (almost nil) films……so CE faced greater disadvantages…..but still CE trended better than D3 from 2nd week and if it had gotten more than 6 days free run then it would be MAMOTH and HISTORIC.

If CE was affected by OUTIMD or Satyagraha it may be because people like Akshay or Ajay more than SRK, hence preferred their movies over CE.
If people prefer Akshay’s serious film over SRK’s comedy, something is wrong with Srk’s popularity.

And have you seen Life Of Pi? It is completely set in India and shows beauty of India and every Indian character is good light. Family is shown to be value based and the parents are shown to be understanding and tolerant. It also pays homage to Indian music and culture. And it won 4 Oscars, most for the evening. So stop spouting rubbish.

First of all Life of Pie isn’t a bollywood film… it had a chance to win more than one Oscars unlike of any foreign language film which compets for only one Oscar I.e BEST FILM….FYI Life of Pie haven’t won best film oscar…but it won best director Oscar….and poverty is the common thread between all the Indian films which went to the final list of Oscars…..And if its not then why mine personal fav AAMIR films like TZP and RDB failed to achieve Laggan success. ….Laggan s portrayal of nationalism played a part but there is no denying the fact that poor poor IIndia also played a part.

If CE was preferred by audience over OUTIMD and Satyagraha then why will it be affected by less screens or competition.
You say that CE had only 6 open days.
But second week audience was 30-40% of 1st week audience, as shown by collection.
So even if screens are reduced by 50%, that should not affect the collections, afterall even audience was reduced by more than 50% in second week.
And if CE is affected, then it clearly means audience are loving Akki and Ajay over SRK.
