Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is known to be a perfectionist and it would be an understatement to say that he does very few films. In the same amount of time that he spends on finalising the script and cast of his films, Akshay Kumar would complete four films and two family vacations.
But on a more serious note, the combined collections of Aamir’s last three commercial films is equivalent to Akshay’s last 10 (from Special 26 to Airlift). And we are only talking about the domestic collections here, otherwise the overseas collections of PK alone is more than Akshay’s last 10 releases.
It has always been quality over quantity for Aamir and it has worked for him big time in the second and more successful half of his career. But with age no longer on his side, it remains to be seen if Aamir will do more films in the next few years.
The least gap between two Aamir films is when Rang De Basanti and Fanaa released 121 days or 4 months apart. The biggest difference was between Dil Chahta Hai and Mangal Pandey, when Aamir was going through a personal low. It could also be the biggest gap for an actor when he beginning to reach his peak, because it came right after the success of Lagaan and Dil Chahta Hai – two films that came at a time when the multiplex era was about to begin and the urban middle-class was coming out in big numbers.
On an average, Aamir does one film every 19 months.

Huge respect for the ultimate REAL GLOBAL MEGASTAR AAMIR KHAN. just like Salman is No.1 megastar in India, aamir is no.1 global megastar of overseas. He is the reason for making Indian cinema proud. On the other hand my idol who is only a great actor, but not really a superstar depends on huge promotions, slam tour, and many publicity stints which aamir doesn’t need. Despite being srkian ever since my birth, I would say without hesitation that aamir is try global megastar and no one except Salman can compete with him. They have billions of fans in true sense. My king may claim himself to have 3.7 billions of fans supposedly, but aamir and Salman dont speak such big things and show the world by proving how big stars they are as compared to my “actor” idol. Ok,when you are talking about footfalls,let me remind you Akki has two 2crs+ footfalls movies –> Mohra:2.16crs and Rowdy Rathore:2.01crs footfalls
while Ajay has just one 2crs+ footfall movie Ishq that too a multistarrer with Aamir Khan..
Rowdy Rathore crossed 2crs+ footfalls on a non holiday release in this multilplex era which none of the Khans/Devgn have achieved yet..Only Hrithik with Dhoom 2 & Ranbir with YJHD are the others to do so.

Even after that mangal pandey,talaash gets flopped.just imagine if amir does a dilwale or happy new year or dabang2 that are movies without good story,but still manages to be hit.this is star power. Amir is neither a big star nor a big actor. He just survives only because of some extraordinarily storyline like 3idiots.
