Q. Which Bollywood movie is all time favourite in India and worldwide? Sholay, DDLJ or 3 idiots?
A. Difficult to answer such questions. Sholay is the most watched movie of all time, footfalls (no of tickets sold) were way higher than DDLJ and 3 Idiots. DDLJ and Sholay released during an era when piracy and internet didn’t exist. The only way to watch a film was in theatres. During DDLJ there were VHS tapes, but piracy wasn’t close to as fast as it is today. While it’s unfair to compare films released during different eras, the current generation would probably pick 3 Idiots over DDLJ and Sholay.
Q. The response to the trailer of ALONE is very positive as compared to other horror movies. Will this help in terms of its collections?
A. Trailer, star cast and songs are three of the most important factors for Indian audiences. When a trailer gets a good response, the opening will definitely get a boost. Bipasha Basu’s Alone is expected to take a good opening at mass centres.

Sholay anyday of the week- there isnt a single moment that drags in that movie whereas in DDLJ you could say the Europe trip is abit too drawn out or in 3 idiots the search for Rancho could have been cut down by a scene or two but in Sholay audiences wouldnt have minded one bit had Sippy Sir given us more of Gabbar or Basanti plus Veeru…. For me Sholay had everything n has never been replicated or ever likely to be matched- complete entertainer….!

@Tiger this article is not about which movie collected higher hahk or ddlj. It is which is more popular and that is without any doubt DDLJ. Still running in theatres for 1000 weeks.Each and every scene,dialogue is still remembered. There is nothing such to remember in hahk except madhuri.
Baseless comparison,Sholay was the most loved film by a margin,_ after that only 3i stand a chance for that tag,ddlj not were and never been most loved film ever but it was undoubtedly most loved romantic film, in my life I have been met many people around me who loves to watch Bollywoodfilms, I have found many who were like ddlj but also meet many people who find it average or bad, while few of remaining said they haven’t seen ddlj and not even interested in that film.for 3i it was voted by 1.30 lac people on imdb and commanding 8.5/10 rating, India’s most rated film and 2nd best in top 250 after Tzp,The 3 idiots page on fb was liked by 13.2 million on fb even more than srk page likes on fb.Above them all I am still searching a single person who can tell he didn’t liked 3i,may be many not loved or considered it best or very good film but it is undoubtly remain a good film for all.My bet is definitely 3i. And when the movie released it did wonders at no as well worldwide.

For Talassh it was 3rd highest opening on non-holiday behind Akki RR 48 cr,srk Don 2 46-47cr while RR was a hardcore masala film which was best bet on 2010-2012 at no, Don 2 was Christmas release on normal day with sequal factor,Talaash released when most of cine lovers spend their money on sos-jthj whose combine business was 190 cr on India,the Zoner of the film wasn’t much popular outside big multiplexes, still movie collected 90cr + on non holiday when srk-kat-yash ji given 101cr on 6 days extended weekend with same no of screens which talaash released.And srk fans talks about Talaash and Aamir stardom.
Other than this it ud crystal clear that Indicine is a Aamir anti site, during d3 release time they mostly avoided news about d3, same goes with Aamir’s PK, when hny released we got most of unnecessary posts about srk and hny frequently, even Indicine published more than 10 post on next day of hny when it been highest opening day,During kick and bang bang they contiously posting about viewer prediction of opening day,contest etc while only 2 days left to release, we haven’t a single article about pk today.
On twitter Aamir achieved 10 million follower just with 257 post was a 3-4 days old news,Indicine posted it today that toowith shed of Big B.Keep going admin.

Sholay- classic masala movie. 3 Idiots-modern chernukha and vulgarity undercover high cause. DDLJ clean, romantic film about the feelings of first love. How do you compare? You like little jackals on SRK around? What did he do wrong? India pulled out movies on the world level, and everyone realized that the rest of you – nothing? Worthy films – Sholay and DDLJ.

Veer zara and MNIK better than 3I???? You got to be kidding me or you’re a blind srk fan. I couldn’t sit through both these films. The best Srk film, I still feel is KHKN. Swades and CDI were both outstanding and way better than 3 idiots. Same with DIl se. VZ and MNIK are big time overrated and the psedo-intellectual Johar had paid most critics for giving good reviews.
I’d rather watch a very well made Don 2 which gives me good time than watching pesudo-intellectual Johar

When ever Theres something good about SRK u either say it as paid or something else. The whole world loved MNIK and u could see that in its overseas collections. And as far as India is concerned the major problem was tiff with shiv sena which hampered its collections for the first week in mumbai.

@sss, MPK was the biggest hit in the decade 1980-90. HAHK was the biggest hit of the decade 1990-2000. Also HAHK was the biggest hit/grosser of 20th century. All these are histoy which will be rememberd untill the qiyamat(end of the world). Ur king even can’t dream about those historical records.
