There are some big changes in the ranking this time around and the younger stars have slowly but steadily begun to challenge stars outside the Top 4. There could be a serious shift in the next couple of years, because the younger actors have youth appeal which is increasing footfalls at multiplexes. The ranking system will also be divided into three; Top Actor in India, Overseas and Worldwide. The list below is for the Top 15 Actors in India i.e the domestic market only. The list would be based on the net box office collections of an actor’s last five movies. For younger actors, the minimum number of films is 3.

Don’t you think verdict of Dilwale will be same as Bajirao Mastani? A. Verdicts are confusing these days, not just for the people who follow collections and verdicts, but even for us.. because there are so many factors involved. In today’s times, there is tremendous pressure on websites like us and even trade analysts to be more lenient. Verdicts are no longer strict. Trade analysts like Komal Nahta (Film Information, ETC) used to be very strict when it came to verdicts before, but now even they follow official collections and verdicts. One of the reasons for this is to create perception that a film starring a big actor hasn’t failed and two, there is pressure from fans – which has only increased because of social media.

Which film will be the highest grosser of 2016 between Dangal, Sultan and Mohenjo Daro? – Suchit A. The top contender is going to be Dangal, simply because of the fact that Aamir Khan returns after 2 years and he’s also going to get a solo release during the most lucrative period i.e Christmas. Also, Aamir movies, more often than not, are strong on content which is the biggest advantage that his films have. If Sultan and Raees manage to get a solo release, then both films have a chance. Mohenjo Daro could score big too, the genre has got a huge boost after the success of Baahubali – Bajirao Mastani and Hrithik returns after nearly 2 years. The problem for 3 of the Top 4 contenders is that they are all scheduled to release on the same day as other big films. It’s almost impossible to collect Rs 250 crore plus when two big films release on the same day. Housefull 3 and Shivaay (set to clash with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) have potential to surprise too.
