Two of the most awaited films of 2016 – Sultan and Dangal – are both based on the story of wrestlers. While Dangal is a real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat (amateur wrestler and senior Olympics coach), the story of Sultan is completely fictional.
But the newly released teaser of Sultan seems to be heavily inspired (would be an understatement) from a video of Geeta Phogat’s story – which was released more than a year ago in January 2015.
Geeta Phogat is Mahivir Singh Phogat’s first daughter and her character will be played by Fatima Sana Shaikh in Dangal.
Watch the two videos below and check out the similarities for yourself. Everything from the voice over, pull-ups of Anushka Sharma, her taking on a male wrestler, then fighting a female wrestler and the message of women empowerment – every bit of it has been included in the second teaser of Sultan.

Aamir prides himself in giving his audience something different in each film.. don’t think that freshness will be there in Dangal.

yes, blatant copying. So far, nothing is working for Sultan…the first teaser was shocking, the posters looked fake and now a blatant copy n paste job of a second teaser. because Sultan is just a fictitious movie, they can base the character on any person so this will really affect Dangal.

Now teaser released & same guys trying to find its similarity with Babita & Geeta Phogats real life incidents.
I said that time also that in Akhada’s girls fights with boys….& it has just one common reason…in our country not many girls are interested or motivated towards wrestling career…thats why very few woman wrestlers are there & they have to fight with boys.
so those who are trying to say that Sultan teaser is inspired from that video then i must say…
If a actor is walking on street in a movie teaser then its inspired from my morning walk.

Every stroke from Lagaan is inspired from Sachin Tendulkar’s batting.
Many of scenes from Munnabhai MBBS & 3 Idiots are inspired from Lectures in medical & engineering college.
@Rohitene, that makes no sense whatsoever. Almost all scenes in the short video are similar to the second teaser of Sultan. Can’t be a coincidence. It’s a ripoff.

i thought before watching this it to be 6.3/10 teaser.
