Two of the most awaited films of 2016 – Sultan and Dangal – are both based on the story of wrestlers. While Dangal is a real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat (amateur wrestler and senior Olympics coach), the story of Sultan is completely fictional.
But the newly released teaser of Sultan seems to be heavily inspired (would be an understatement) from a video of Geeta Phogat’s story – which was released more than a year ago in January 2015.
Geeta Phogat is Mahivir Singh Phogat’s first daughter and her character will be played by Fatima Sana Shaikh in Dangal.
Watch the two videos below and check out the similarities for yourself. Everything from the voice over, pull-ups of Anushka Sharma, her taking on a male wrestler, then fighting a female wrestler and the message of women empowerment – every bit of it has been included in the second teaser of Sultan.

You know Indicine will never dare say such things about SRK films no matter how many scenes he rips off for his films. Else, their payments will be cut off. And now they are upto creating fan wars between Aamir & Salman fans. From this, u know who gains/gain.
But I fear of something. The makers of Raees has tried all means to push Sultan away from Eid. But they failed miserably.
But now they are sponsoring some PR Agents and attempting to create unnecessary negativities around Sultan by calling the second teaser of Sultan to be rip-offs from Geeta Phogat’s video.
And they will publicise these similarities to the extent that the makers of Dangal come to notice it and take the makers of Sultan to court.
It doesn’t matter who wins the case, but there is a slim chance of Sultan getting delayed because of the legal mess. Are the Raees makers and their paid PR agents trying to create such a circumstance? I fear of this foul play!
geeta phogat video is a jindal steel production.. it has nothing to do with dangal team.. n is it the first time in the world that an inspiration is taken from somewhere? oh right devdas n don were originals isn’t it indicine? the common people don’t even care about these things.. all they want is a good movie.. n sultan looks every bit of it.. n before I end I would like to inform indicine that laila o laila song in raees is original!

Dangal team should take action against indicine for this despicable article because it was deliberately created to cause a controversy. Sultan never copied anything from any video this is a complete set up by the media because they are hoping to create negativity but no one has the guts to admit it.
It is sad ? that media has to stoop to gutter levels to promote their site but it’s too much a coincidence to be a coincidence. I pity the people of India who has to constantly live with everything they do someone compares it to something or someone. I am sure they will be an investigation of some kind because who ever started this will have to answer to the consequences. The only thing look similar in both videos are couple of scenes, the lady wrestler beating a guy in akhaada and again winning in some competition !!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure if it is deliberately copied by YRF or not but one thing I can assure Salman will never do such things, even if he copies or remakes he buys the official rights. I also am aware that Sultan movie makers are accused wrongfully and this article was strictly to spread negativity and as one commentator said you dumbo SRK fans left the site because of Fans debacle and indicine being a site which is prejudicial to him and want to keep in his good books had to find a way to do that.
Raees will never come at Eid so don’t raise your hopes he is too scared and cannot afford to lose more money.
BTW no amount of negativity can take anything away from the movie and besides it has not been released yet and God had already blessed it with a tax free status in one state and others will follow.
