Two of the most awaited films of 2016 – Sultan and Dangal – are both based on the story of wrestlers. While Dangal is a real-life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat (amateur wrestler and senior Olympics coach), the story of Sultan is completely fictional.
But the newly released teaser of Sultan seems to be heavily inspired (would be an understatement) from a video of Geeta Phogat’s story – which was released more than a year ago in January 2015.
Geeta Phogat is Mahivir Singh Phogat’s first daughter and her character will be played by Fatima Sana Shaikh in Dangal.
Watch the two videos below and check out the similarities for yourself. Everything from the voice over, pull-ups of Anushka Sharma, her taking on a male wrestler, then fighting a female wrestler and the message of women empowerment – every bit of it has been included in the second teaser of Sultan.
Bhai already said that SULTAN is a love story and not a full fledged Wrestling Movie their might be some similarity in Teaser2 but that doesn’t mean SULTAN and DANGAL are cut to cut same so Chill Newly joined 80cr Fanz ?!!!!

Why are some people jumping up and down as if Indicine said whole Sultan movie is copied from Dangal…? Some are replying like ‘Should Dangal change the script’ and all…lol…c’mon atleast read the article properly and jump…

O an serious note the problem isnt that the teaser is somewhat similar to that video .The problem is that another superstar(probably the biggest superstar of Bollywood) is coming with a film on the same theme.And even same theme isnt a problem as OMG and PK were on same theme presented in different and entertaining manners.But here the video is totally a copy of the video of Geeta Phogat and the other film is based on real life story of Geeta Phogat. It was totally an unexpected thing.

On the other side, Dangal is a masterpiece considering Aamir doing it. Sultan may earn a lot because of Eid, but have anyone noticed the chances Salman got to surpass 3 Idiots and each and every time he failed! This time he will also fail. Nothing wrong with 2 films with similar themes releasing almost together coz afterall we all knew Billu 1 and Pankha had similar storylines but yet you started shouting from the pre production stage that Kings Pankha was gonne be Content Rich…!
