It’s going to be one of the biggest box office clashes of all time as three films are now officially set to arrive during the Diwali weekend this year.
Golmaal 4 was the first film that was announced for Diwali, but soon after the announcement of Robot 2.0 there were reports that Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty had decided not to take on the Rajnikanth – Akshay Kumar film.
Post that, there was a major shuffle in release dates. Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha moved from June to the Independence Day weekend – which was already taken by Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled film directed by Imtiaz Ali.
After ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ was moved, Aamir Khan decided to postpone his production ‘Secret Superstar’ to the Diwali weekend – which set up a clash with the more commercial film ‘Robot 2.o’.
Now with ‘Golmaal Again’ also coming on Diwali, the stage is set for a big clash and there’s going to be a tough battle to get shows and screens – as both Robot 2.0 and Golmaal Again are commercial films with pan-India appeal.
Business of ‘Golmaal Again’ will be affected by ‘Robot 2.0’ in the south, while the Akshay Kumar factor could be negated to a certain extent by ‘Golmaal Again’ in the north and other parts of India.

There is no hope for Rohit shettty film to score in South as the craze is going to be at an all time high for 2.0.We all that Akshay Kumar is the most popular superstar in Delhi/UP And east punjab circuit where a almost 1/3rd of collection comes,so there is very little area for golmaal to score and if fortunately 2.0 managed to get the WOM as of baahubali
then no one can stop golmaal to be the first flop in the franchise.North India will go crazy after the trailer release of 2.0

But this time the opening is not gonna be one-sided. Last time, Blue was way ahead of the other 2 films combined on Day 1. But Golmaal is a big film. One of the most popular franchises? ever in India. It won’t be a surprise if Golmaal 4 manages a bigger initial than 2.0 in North!
But there are a few factors to consider here. Golmaal was a huge hit at the box office when comedy was the flavour of the season. But today the genre has been dry, the last comedy film that did very well was Rohit Shetty’s own film Chennai Express. So G4 can either go the Golmaal 3 way or the Housefull 3 way. Everything on Rohit Shetty’s shoulders.
On a lighter note, I hope Ajay doesn’t play any dirty tricks again!!!!
Hugely Disappointed, Akki’s chance of getting over 150 cr is gone now. He should do Rowdy 2 and release it solo to get to 175 cr. All his other movies realesing 2017/2018 doesnt look appealing for SS audience. Whats the point of 110-125 cr collections aim for higher Akshay

A big budget film like Blue deserved a solo release for a safe recovery. I thought this guy learned his lesson after his own ambitious film Shivaay had to faced the same plight. But hadd ho gayi yaar!
And poor Yash Chopra had to move around courts during his last days. What an honour for that legendary filmaker by Mr.Devgan.
Last year he had hit a new low, with involving someone like KRK, making ‘relaxed’ comments and anti pak statements ! And bcoz of him his wife lost her best friend in the industry.

Biggest budget movie in history, Akshay biggest movie though Supporting and Tamil movie Biggest superstar in the South but still look at the competition G4 is giving 2.0 on vote list. It means people had no option than too watch 2.0 since its solo now that a better actor and movie is clashing with it the interest already has faded away.

Obviously 2.0 should be the first choice. How often do we get to see such big scale films on big screen? Mindless comedies like G4 can we enjoyed on TV too. In fact that’s audience are doing these days. An Airlift or Neerja underperforms on TV but films like Housefull 3, Dishoom and A Flying Jatt turn get huge Trp.
Anyways will watch G4 too if it’s a good film but first choice 2.0!

It is Golmaal 4 that has to worry for comedy films are faring well these days, if it comes out with dull trailer and promos like Housefull 3 then it will have no chance in front of 2.0 and SS. Then G4 might do well only on Television like A Flying Jatt.

Though I want to say that these clashes will only harm our Indian Film Industry, because of these clashes we will never able to compete with Hollywood…..We are Biggest Film Industry in whole world, not in making quality films but in making huge quantity of movie and this is the main reason of clashes…..We should stop focusing on number of movies and start working on quality of movie, then only we can compete with Hollywood…..
I think that SS will suffer huge, because both R2 and G4 are huge and event movies and everyone wants to them in huge festival like Diwali……If there is only one big movie (R2 or G4) then people will give chance to SS but with two big movies its very difficult to get attention of public…..
Once you are known to be a Great Actor obviously the movie will always be watched by Real movie Goers. Its not hidden that On Diwali which movie audiences will go out with their family to watch. Rajni Aapa presence and main lead will suggest collections down side will be high but then Ajay’s Golmaal is a Brand already in Pan India its a film most are waiting for. So I go with Golmaal four.

As of now only secret superstar teaser/trailer is out and some photos of Robot 2.0 and some cast photos of Golmaal….so as on date …i will trust Aamir khan and watch Secret Superstar first …
Dn probably Golmaal as i found earlier films of d series funny …….lastly Robot coz part 1 was just ok for me barring the last exceptional action sequences …..but a lot can change after d release of promos ….meanwhile 2 big films wd one smaller film …i think its ok
