Brothers has collected around Rs 21.43 crore on Day 2 at the domestic box office. The film has done outstanding business at most centres, but the growth has come because Saturday was a National Holiday and one of the best days for film business.
The hold on Sunday will be very important for Brothers. If business is at around the 20 crore mark, the trend would suggest that the film will do well during the weekdays too.
The second day business of Brothers is the highest single day for a film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. It’s also the only non-Salman Khan film this year to do business of 20 crore or more on a single day.
Brothers has collected Rs 36.63 crore in 2 days at the box office and the film is on course for a huge 55 crore plus weekend.

@indicine: Singham returns collected almost 10crs more than it on independence day last year even though Ajay is comparatively a smaller actor than Akki!!Neither it had any hummable song.. Did the sequel factor worked for it to that much extent??
@Babaji, Singham is a HUGE brand. Not only did the film do well when it released, but the reach and popularity of Singham on television was huge. You can’t compare Brothers to a film like Singham Returns. But that doesn’t mean the collections of Brothers is great either, it should have ideally been about 10-15% higher than what it has accumulated in the last two days.

Awesome I watched Brothers and its an awesome movie its emotional story along with youth family audience will also like the movie action scenes was fantastic Akshay Kumar was excellent Sid was good Jackie Sir was Good chemistry between Akshay-Jacqueline was tremendous Its full time Paisa Vasool.
I watched it on 14th August National Holiday and Brothers made the highest single day record of any Indian movie in Pakistan beat PK and BB single day record.
I think family audiences don’t like to watch violent films that is for sure!!
Even though Agneepath was a much better film than bodyguard,Ready,Rowdy but it couldn’t surpass them coz of this violence factor.
It crashed on its 2nd after a huge first day,though recovered well but it certainly deserved more.

Just came from seeing it, and I have to say, I think I just saw the next Golden Kela awards winner (at least a nomination).
Brothers is about two brothers (Akshay Kumar and siddharth malhotra) who find themselves in the same MMA tournament. As they test their fortitude among the opponents, they face their own battles with each other and their estranged father (Jackie Shroff). Unfortunately, there’s no way to summarize this film or watch the trailer without having the first half hour of the film spoon fed to you. There are zero surprises as the story plays out, and The film fails to break out of it up until literally 20 minutes before the end.
Acting:
Sid worked very hard to pull off his part but he failed.He does not BECOME his character. Akshay Kumar was good but some scenes, he seemd like he was struggling like when he deliver his lines. it rarely seems real, it screams, “I’m acting”.
Karan Malhotra chucks away everything that was interesting or dark or subtle in Brothers and replaces it with a pseudo-individualist and Melodrama. The MMA stuff is not realistic.
If one is a devoted fan of Akshay Kumar and Sidarth Malhotra, then go ahead and watch this as the final hour may blow you away, but if not then I recommend to stay away from this one.
Overall, Brothers is a film with massive potential which was ultimately garbage.

Just watched d movie ! Sid , Ak n jaggu dada they all acted well but d film lacks d ultimate punch ! But a big thumps up for AK n Sid because this is not a easy one !
The characters of d film looking convincing and thats a huge thing ,i dnt like Ak movies or his acting that much but this is d character that i dnt think any indian actor will do better than him ! His fitness is amazing n thats what really d movie needs ! But all d effort gone in vain because of poor direction n screenplay .
People should know the audience of any movie before comparing collections … even salman failed to pull audience in jai ho because of the target market of the movie.. each and every movie is different ..it has nothing to do with the star always. .. Brothers is only for men… not ladies or families …
