Brothers has collected around Rs 21.43 crore on Day 2 at the domestic box office. The film has done outstanding business at most centres, but the growth has come because Saturday was a National Holiday and one of the best days for film business.
The hold on Sunday will be very important for Brothers. If business is at around the 20 crore mark, the trend would suggest that the film will do well during the weekdays too.
The second day business of Brothers is the highest single day for a film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. It’s also the only non-Salman Khan film this year to do business of 20 crore or more on a single day.
Brothers has collected Rs 36.63 crore in 2 days at the box office and the film is on course for a huge 55 crore plus weekend.

In my life I have never seen an mma fight where after the 1st fight the fighter fights just barely 2 hours after…like the last scene where Jacqueline was wearing the same clothes,sitting on same seat as she witness akki fighting Luka then Monty. Come on dudes..I mean a minimum of 2 days interval after the first fight is the FACT!! Again look at when monty was on d floor and that giant was busy going round corners praising himself. A real professional mma fighter finishes off his opponent while d oponnent is hopeless on the floor. No breathing space is allowed except the bell rings but d bell ddnt ring ,d giant goes round hailing himself and then Monty catches him by suprise after spending free 20 seconds on d floor before the time bell???? Hilarious!! Is talking allowed during mma fight when both fighters are on d floor(last scene of Monty n David final round).!!! Was Jackie sids coach? Then what’s he doing beside the ring as akki is fighting?? He is suppose to be with monty in d changing room. Real life jackie wldv been disqualified from appearing near d ring when his client monty is in d gym room.?? Sids leg was broken. As he made attempt to stand up he fell of again with heavy pain. The referee suppose to end d match there. Finally how can only 8 fighter participate in mma fight when over 20 national flags shown on the roof lights?? 8? For a championship? It’s a bad year for Karan Johar. First Bombay Velvet disaster, now Brothers underperformance . Even, Shaandaar will disappoint. Another flop waiting next year in Kapoor & Sons. Time for him to intervene and drop Siddharth n Alia from his future projects. Salman doing Shuddhi was the last hope for Dharma Productions but now he too has walked out from the film. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will do well in only overseas markets as Karan and Ranbir have both lost their audience in India.

@babaji .. Ajay and Akshay are on the same level when it comes to stardom .. Secondly thanks to Sidharth .. Atleast multiplex audiences are flocking to the theatres to watch it .. Audiences out here in Mumbai or other big cities have absolutely no interest for an actor who does a movie literally every 3-4 months .. Most of them mediocre .. You can look at the fact that Sid’s highest opener Ek Villain is above Akki’s highest opener Rowdy Rathore. Now please don’t tell me Ritesh was responsible for Ek Villain’s success .. If that was the case .. Bangistan would have been a hit too but it was a washout from the word GO. Nor can you point out Mohit Suri been the reason .. We all know HAK’s fate .. The fact is people are bugged seeing Akshay .. He should stop doing so many movies .. He has lost his credibility. The simple fact is that even a superb movie like Holiday just about crawled its way to 100 cr. Trust me if Holiday had SRK or Salman in it .. It would be have been a blockbuster.
Not saying that all collections are coz of Sidharth but a combined effort put in by the whole team. This is not a solo Akki movie so stop bragging.

There is common excuses of Akki fans that Khan’s are big just because of holiday releases but Akki didn’t get holiday release. Brothers has proved why he is not deserve festive releases. In 2012 RR collected 48cr in first 3 days and Brothers will collect 55cr+ despite being huge festive day.
1. Republic day- Baby falls on Monday collected 12-13cr
2. Independence day- Brothers- 21.25cr

The fall on Akki stardom can easily judge that in overseas Akki highest grosser is SIK which released in 2008 when he was his best phase.
Blue,tmk,ouatimd,action replay were non performers on good release period.
Reason is nothing but 4 films in a year policy and who will come to watch his every movie in a year. So till than akki not started to reduce his quantity of films than there is no need to give better release day to him as the movie can’t perform with potential. Other this he is somehow unlucky that his crappy films got festive/good release dates so the reason of underperformance become high.
@babaji- yes Brothers keep family away from theatres because of excessive blood shed and violence, this happen with Aamir’s Ghajini too as Family were going for Rab ne than Aamir’s ghajini that the reason that Rab be collected good in 3rd or 4th week. Though the craze among youth and masses,the wom took it to all time grosser tag so these things not highlighted much.
You were asking that why Aamir want a festive release on Christmas why not normal release. Why wouldn’t he? He has given 4 all time grosser in last 4 Christmas release, audience comes in big numbers to watch his films. He has 1 film per year or sometime 1 film in 2 year. Due to SMJ he restricted his income from advertising. Not charging fees from producer and want profit share as it reduces cost and profit increase automatically. So when his source of income is mainly from movie then why should he don’t release his film on festive time especially when his contemporizes like Salman and SRK releasing there films on Festives. When Talaash didn’t performed as per expectations the media was in hurry to called that he looses his potentials. This negative campaigning on him resulted Aamir to push pk from post IPL to Christmas. Because anything less than d3 would cause underperformance of pk. Now he returning in 2 years so expectation with Dangal is so huge, anything less than a 300cr will be touted underperformance.
The biggest setback in Aamir case, that media is always want to degrade him if his movie underprrform unlike Srk or Salman, they were mocked on social plateforms by fans or haters but media remain more generous to them. That’s a fact which I noticed in last 3 years.
