Brothers has collected around Rs 21.43 crore on Day 2 at the domestic box office. The film has done outstanding business at most centres, but the growth has come because Saturday was a National Holiday and one of the best days for film business.
The hold on Sunday will be very important for Brothers. If business is at around the 20 crore mark, the trend would suggest that the film will do well during the weekdays too.
The second day business of Brothers is the highest single day for a film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. It’s also the only non-Salman Khan film this year to do business of 20 crore or more on a single day.
Brothers has collected Rs 36.63 crore in 2 days at the box office and the film is on course for a huge 55 crore plus weekend.

Well i am not a die hard Akshay fan neither a die hard Srk or Sallu or Ajay Fan. Its always been the genre that has pulled the audience in the theatres and ofcourse since some movies of Akki were dud in content the faith of audience is low. Bt again watched Brothers and i feel its one of those Akki movies where he has acted and performed awesme. He makes u connect to most of his scenes. So cant criticize him for his roles somewhere he has entertained us in most of his movies. I wont be biased but yes they all are working hard and i am every actor wants his film to do well. Lets not spread a wrong synopsis,to pull them down. Brothers was a good movie though it might not be a blockbuster but its a hit all the way.
After Hrithik and three Khans Akshay is the biggest. Sid is very good but still young to make much difference to BO earnings.
@yousif agree but even jao ho did over 25 crores on national holiday which was its 3rd day and in case of brothers its only 2nd day,for jao ho next day was a working so night and late night occupancy drops but in case of brothers next day is again holiday.everybody knows ticket price of joi ho was lower
It has been proved before and it has proved again by Brothers box office response that Average Kumar is a 2RsPpl star. Oh My God, he can’t even guarantee a 20 cr opening. Those saying Brothers is violent, well Agneepath was more gory still it collected huge by breaking Bodyguard opening record at that time.
It’s funny when I see Average Kumar saying in interviews that he doesn’t care about 100 CR, 200 CR club instead he wants audience to like his film.

I think its not possible.Brother cant break the record of highest opening in Pakistan.Dhoom 3 and HNY had many shows at multiplexes.If I talk about cinepax Rawalpindi then both movies had 10-15 shows daily because of no competition.Bajrangi Bhaijan had competition from Wrong No and Bin ROye so it got 8
shows daily still could not break opening record.Now Brother has only 5 shows at Cinepax Rawalpindi and had only 4 on its opening day with Eid releases Bajrangi,Wrong No,Bin ROye are still there with a new release Karachi se Lahore which is also performing well.And dont forget with these 4 movies 3 new films released on 14 August including SHAH ,MOOR and Dekh Magar Payar se.So audience has too much option.So there is no possibility of Brother of record breaking business in Pakistan.With too much movies the number of shows are not in big number in the multiplexes all over the country.

Well this should ideally have been the first day collections but nevertheless a good jump on a national holiday is always welcome..this also shows that when Akshay Kumar got a huge national holiday during the initial weekend with a solo 3500 screen release,he is capable of bringing audience to theatres..even thought the film is facing some kind of negativity the audience has given it a try because it has a superstar coming on one of the biggest holidays on the year..had 15th August fallen on first day then there were chances of a 30 crore opening day..but all said and done,the two day total is now actually looking good and I am happy that this kind of growth has come..now it just has to collect more than 20 crore on sunday so that it can have a shot at 125 crore lifetime business which may not be as per expectations but are neither bad too..All the best team Brothers
