Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara directed by Zoya Akhtar releases tomorrow and the film has a huge starcast. Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif are two of the most popular actors in the industry and their presence should give the films box office collections a huge boost. Apart from Hrithik and Kat, the film also stars Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Kalki Koechlin.
Much like Delhi Belly, ZNMD is targeted at the youth and the urban audience. The film is expected to open well in cities and then grow on word-of-mouth.
The opening though might not be spectacular due to several reasons
- There is no ‘big film’ buzz around Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the promos haven’t been the talking point either.
- Delhi Belly is still strong in cities and Murder 2 is unlikely to be replaced at single screens. Also, the last part in the Harry Potter series of films is scheduled to hit screens tomorrow (i.e if the producers and multiplex owners can settle their dispute on time). In bigger cities, going by the advance booking, Harry Potter is unfortunately the first choice.
- Next week, Singham is scheduled for release and it should affect the collections of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
While things don’t look too rosy, Zoya Akhtar and the ZNMD team is quietly confident. If the content is good, the competition simply does not matter.
Coming to the point.. below are our prediction for Hrithik Roshan’s first and only release of 2011
Excel Film’s Zindagi na milegi dobara has a huge cast comprising Hrithik Roshan,Katrina Kaif,Farhan Akthar,Abhay Deol etc. The movie has a very urbane feel to it and is expected to do really well in the high end properties but it remains to be seen if the movie can go really mainstream and justify its costs.

- Weekend – 27 crores
- Weekdays – 12 crores
- Week 1 Total – 39 crores
- Final – 65 crores+
IF AVERAGE (mixed word-of-mouth)

- Weekdays – 10 crores
- Week 1 Total – 35 crores
- Final – 50 crores+
IF BAD (negative word-of-mouth)
- Weekend – 22 crores
- Weekdays – 8 crores
- Week 1 Total – 30 crores
- Final – less than 40 crores
After two disasters in Kites and Guzaarish. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara is an important film for Hrithik, make no mistake about that.

Kites and guzaarish flopped not bcoz of hrithik roshan..and if mela was bombed it too was obviously nt bcoz of aamir..
Movies r good sometimes bt still r flopped so fopl and hit r nt only bcoz of actors whole tem shud b blamed,,READY and DABANGG were BLOCKBUSTERS but do dey actually deserve such success..I think no..So, it doesnt mean dat salman is a geat actor..

I say it’s even better than DCH! Loved all the performances, even Katrina. She was bloody good! Hrithik as usual was outstanding and I loved Farhan and Abhay too! Best movie of 2011 in my opinion! Arre massala movies like Ready and Double Dhamaal are nothing in front of a perfect movie like that! It’s simple but perfect! Ready is overrated because of Salman of course, you all know that! Every movie involves wise men..but some movies click at d box office some r not..So while being a film making student i know dat everybody works hard and wants to make a superhit project..but it is not possible for every project…
ZNMD is a gud movie now,DCH was den a gud movie so no need to compare..but till now ZNMD is d best movie of 2011..
I finally watched ZNMD, loved it, very classic, brilliant piece of work.
And @Shonali: I still rate DCH higher than ZNMD, if u think it’s better it’s ur own opinion, but for me DCH remains a masterpiece which no one can create its magic again.
But undoubtedly DCH along with Delhi Belli are obviously the best films of 2011. DD, Ready…all sucked in my opinion.
Dabangg was a full masala entertainer, but it was well-maid and good, one of the better masala flicks this decade. Ready wasn’t. What i was saying is why people are still repeating the same nonsense again and again?? I mean we got the point, Mela bombed it was a mistake and that’s all. Why comparing it with KNPH to rate Hrithik higher???
Every actor makes mistakes, Aamir made a lot of them in his early career, Hrithik too if they are comparing Mela with KNPH, in the same way i compared Kites with 3 Idiots, is this wrong?
Sorry it has to be: ZNMD along with DB are the best films of 2011.
This is the point i said it many times before, when the film succeeds they want everyone to be credited exept Aamir we always hear” 3 Idiots suceeded only because of Raju…Ghajini coz it was a remake…TZP belongs to amol gupte and darsheel safarey, Lagaan belongs to ashu…blah blah…blah
But when it comes to failures like Mela, Mangal pandey aamir should be totally respesnible for its failue. I have never heard anyone blaming Dharmesh D for Mela or Ketan Mehta for MP, it’s Aamir’s fault all the way…so it’s right Aamir takes all credit whenever it’s a hit or a flop. Good for him.

Guzaarish, Kites, right?? tell me the name of only one movie of SRK and Amir with that match with those 3 films!! the result is out already there is no similarity with Dil Chahta Hai with Zindegi Na Milegi Dobara, even critics liked ZNMD over DCH. The box office report of ZNMD is far better than DCH too even it’s compared with their making cost. Hrithik Roshan is the only actor in Bollywood who never copied anybody rather he brought new tren always with all his Hit movies. Just start surfing internet, you will see Amir is getting tips from Hrithik for his Dhoom 3. May be you say by noticing that Hrithik is follwing the foot step of Amir by doing one film a year, right?? but your assumption is wrong, Hrithik is the 1st one who decided to work one film a year thinking his next film will create lots of hype. And then some other actor like Amir has started the same strategy. For Guzaarish, I would like to agree with most claimers that it has been copied from a Spanish film The Sea Inside, yes the plot of the movie is almost the same but still I would say that Guzaarish has been copied by a very good film but what about Amir who copied his Gajini from a south indian film. Gajini was the exact copy cat movie of the south indian film whereas, Guzaarish is so different that the Spanish version that you will hardly be able to understand that if Guzaarish has really been copied. For SRK, he himself said that he copies Mr. Dilp Kumar and Zim Carry in his acting, so his acting is not genuine as well. Hrithik is a versatile actor and that he proved by playing completely different characters in different movies. No other actor in Bollwood has ever attempted this. Each and everyone is going alone with the style they have been comfortable and successful with. Please, leave your ignorant preach about Hrithik and start using a brain. Its a good movie. There are some unfunny gags & at times the HR’s anglisiced Hindi doesn’t sound cool.. But overall great performances & its good to hear that the movie is doing well…
At an early comment incidine team said it would be difficult for znmd to make 80 crores. But the movie is on the way to make 90 crores guys. Any comments?

i think those who predicted this film a flop have been put in their place! its not a flop! its been a big hit worldwide! yeah it may not have been appealing with typical leading protagonists running around in the rain to trees on green fields, the film is full of energy! it’s a film for everyone, the lads would enjoy it more i think! but being a girl- and a hrithik fan i enjoyed it very much! no words to describe hrithik, he was in a complete different role, something we have not seen him in before. Farhan was another pleaser! he portrayed his character brilliantly! and abhay was also good. i wasnt keen on him before this film- seeing him in ZNMD, now i can say he knows how to act. the music is not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is well suited in the film and not typical!
all in all i think its one of the best films of 2011!

Yeeaaahhh…ZNMD is still running well in multiplexes..In d beginning, many people predicted negative about d movie even on dis page also but everybody has got d answer now..
In India only its net income is around 85crores and it will cross 100 cr if u include overseas income also..Satellite and music rights r sold at 31 crores so after total sum its income is calculated around 135 crores..
Collections would have been more better if it would have not released with Harry Potter..and next week was Singham..Solo release of ZNMD could have made this movie the highest grosser of this year but here Salman starrer Ready was lucky to get solo release and even no movie releasing in next 3 weeks..
So..ZNMD is at second place and then Singham at third..
Remember, ZNMD is still running even after AArakshan, ZNMD and Singham will b in theatres for the fillers as second option so it means income is continously adding in d collections..

Deffinetly hit.. Zoya got critically recognized in her first movie itself. And Farhan, both, DCH n Rock On!! Also, Hrithik’s popular, while Kat herself is a very accomplished actress..While Abhay’s got a
nice charm an acting. Personally, this could be the next DCH. And no, this isn’t a remake of any Hollywood film it’s an original. I remember seeing everyday o the week packed with ppl wanting to watch it… And it’s still running… Really..? Ppl are comapring this stuff to Delhi Belly..!!
