After Shahid Kapoor (read article), Aamir Khan has hit out at actors in the industry who give out inflated box office numbers.
During a promotional campaign of his upcoming film PK, Aamir said “Its childish. I think that for some reason various people in the film industry feel that by inflating their figures they would convince people.”
“Nowadays you get to buy editorial in number of newspapers which is extremely unfortunate. So what happens is that I can buy editorial and say ,’Mera itna dhanda hua ya utna hua’ (Say my film has earned this much). But its meaningless because when you go home you know how much business the film has done. Even the industry knows exactly how much each film has done. So the market knows, you can’t fool the market. You can try and fool people but how many times will you fool people also. Ultimately you are just fooling yourself.”
Aamir went on to add that he is one of those actors who is strictly against the idea of giving out inflated figures, something that he claims he hasn’t done for any of his films so far “I am one of the people who strictly doesn’t give out figures which are inflated” the actor added.
Aamir holds the record for the highest grosser in the industry. His last release Dhoom 3 went on to collect Rs 283 crore in India and more than Rs 500 crore (gross) overseas. He was also the ‘founder’ of the 100 crore and 200 crore clubs. The trade expects his upcoming film ‘PK’ to be the first to cross Rs 300 crore in India.
@hrocking CE and HNY were successful only due to Deepika, whose YJHD was bigger than ALL SRK films by a margin of 50 crores. SRK is also nothing without YRF/Dharma. Skeleton king.

@neeraj first correct yourself. HNY Boi collections are 40 cr and 2.5 cr from regional. And who said Boi is authentic. Is anyone from industry specifically mentioned Boi is authentic source? I never heared anyone from industry who talk about Boi. Dhoom3 as per Boi 32 cr and prducers number 35. Even there is less difference between producer and Boi numbers for Amir s movies still why there is more producer number why not it is exactly same number to Boi. Either Boi is inflating Amir movie collection or Amir is lying even though difference is minimal. First day K3 collection must be 20-23 cr.
Mr. Amir Khan your statement also applies to yourself. If figures of other actors have been inflated by them and Box office India is your ideal source to believe, then please check the difference between what Box Office India stated about Dhoom 3 and what yrf claimed to have scored at the box office. You will be the ultimate fool ti be ashamed of!!

Amir didn’t directly refer to Hrithik! But if he is indirectly talking about Krrish 3, then I would say “GROW UP”! There is not a single proof of Krrish 3 being manipulated. There is only a controversy over it due to the difference between BOI and official figure.

@neeraj, dude atleast do some research… boi gave 40 crs for hny hindi version only, and as per producers hindi version of hny was 42.62 crs… where was the manipulation? its expected for a big release of around 5000 screens… had the producers of hny manipulated then the first day figure could have gone towards 50 crs….
and you should know that boi never adds collecction of dubbed version to the hindi version..

People are reading too much wrongly in to this.
He is referring to makers who give inflated figs thru websites.
Eg., Humshakals, where Indicine gave fake news of success party, while it was just some tea party kinda thing hosted by the lead actress I what looks like her home.
Such fake headlines and news ar out to fool unsuspecting and new financers that the movie had warned profit. But, as Aamir says all this is known by real industry people and wont last.

Whatever the source you pick,fact is that there is definitely inflation in figure from actuals.Aamir has easily claimed for talaash to cross 100 cr if needs too but he clearly said when he came to etc on interview at d3 time that film collected 90-92 cr that time,Ghajini time they celebrated with 200cr gross while boi claimed 190cr so 10 cr difference in gross not much that too worldwide level.its acceptable but I think most of not aware that oso team claimed they crossed 200cr gross while actual was around 200 cr you can even Google the same.
For d3 figure I don’t know why there are so dumb guys exist I just share you link if you guys have guts too accept truth just check.

They simply writes d3 is first film to collect 250cr and we know their figure for d3 is 260cr Hindi and they simply writes regional figure are 12.5 cr so total is around 273cr but official is 285cr its reasonable difference of less than 5% guys.He can definitely say the same.
