Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has collected Rs 62.1 crore in it’s first weekend at the box office. The Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone starrer collected 19.5 crore on Friday, 20 crore on Saturday and 22.5 crore on Sunday – the growth in business over the weekend was phenomenal.
The fact that the film picked up marginally on it’s second day, after a record-breaking opening day, is in itself a major feat which not many films have achieved in the recent past (unless Day 2 was a national holiday).
The trending though, was quite similar to other post-IPL releases like Rowdy Rathore and Ready, although both those films dropped slightly on Day 2. (stay tuned for the comparison, will be published shortly)

Well, I’m surprised. This is a mind boggling weekend for any film. It’s a good movie but nothing exceptional. Still, it will continue to do well as it targeted the youth audience and we can see the result.
Ranbir has been thrashing away salman’s records left and right..nice… I say year 2013 is the beginning of the end for the ghanta actor..

This is how it stands.Salman is ahead of everyone, Whereas Hrithik & Aamir can do some real damage at the boxoffice.Ranbir seems promising but his Besharm needs to collect 20cr.atleast on first day to prove his star power again, I know it’s gonna be a holiday release but let’s see, how he will do that.SRK needs to do good movies like Aamir & rather than clashing he should look for solo releases as Ranbir showed us that solo can be big too.Akshay should do less movies so that he can show us his real capability.

Ranbir Kapoor is only popular among youngsters, because they just like these vulgar things. I myself 25.. but sorry I can’t watch Ranbir Kapoor movies with my kids. I can watch this so-called star movie with my wife, but can’t with my parents.
The fact is that Every single movie of Ranbir Kapoor, there is definitely a lip-kiss scene. I know many people will disagree with me, actually mostly . that’s fact ;)
I will speak honestly, Ranbir Kapoor is a very fine actor… a brilliant actor. And this is the actor who can remove ‘Khan’ tag from Bollywood, which is very very near. But truth is that, There are now so much vulgarity in young actors movies i.e. Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Imran Khan. Shayad it is people demand (but definitely not family demand)
Lip Kissing might be nothing for you, But we family people can’t watch this thing with kids, parents…

for me Ranbir is already the biggest star in bollywood. i know there are some type of people who prefer salman type movies only so i don’t care for nos. The nos. so far have clearly shown that Ranbir is first choice of class. Mass always takes it times to join the fan club. same was with aamir if u remember. his movies were not big hits but were liked by class people. later on mass people also joined. so RK is already the biggest star in B town. i jst cant miss any of his movies now. they are so energetic and fun. next star could be ayushman khurana according to me. he has great potential.
Only losers find excuses, like Diwali 1st day people don’t watch films, competition with Son of Sardar, Shivsena’s Mumbai Bandh, Romantic genre and not massala commerial film, but they forgot their star used a famous director’s name after his death to make his film hit, 6 months long expensive promotion and sex scenes in the film.. but still failed very badly..!!
