Indicine: Akash, you are talking about a man who delivered the first 100 crore, 200 crore and 250 crore grosser! Four major Aamir Khan films have released since the first 100 cr grosser and only one of his films have released during a non-holiday weekend.
Its not just Aamir, the other two Khans have also tried their best to avoid releasing their film during a non-holiday weekend. Shahrukh Khan’s last normal release was My Name Is Khan (2010) and it didn’t collect 100 cr. Salman too has released all his films either during the holiday weekend or Post-IPL.
Coming to Talaash, it appealed only to a certain section of the audience and for its genre it did reasonably well at the box office. If 3 Idiots, Dhoom 3 or the upcoming P.K release this week, it would still easily collect more than 150 cr.
And finally, Dhobi Ghat was an art film made on a budget of around 12 cr. It would be foolish to expect huge box office returns from the film.

@sky —Why always forget that in both case of YRF and DP its SRK who debute with two new directors ????
During DAAR no one came up take the risky project while SRK took it up and let me remind you that banners at that time don’t matter doemuch.
Seeing his awesome potryal of the charecter in DAAR YRF tried out a new jodi i.esaSRK and KAJOL which along with their awesome chemistry created many miracels in years to come……SRK became the face ofAromance at that time and along with fresh/top heroines all beacame succesful esp with YRF as the goodwill of DDLJ continued…..same is the case with DP.
FYI SRK haven’t got a filmy family or background which would help him to get a debut for which he started from serials, then negative role, side roles etc to get up to here…..its his luck and hars work which paved the way for an awesome combination with various people like KAJOL and YASHJI which gave him various succesful ventures…..nobody thought of doing DAAR at that time but SRK did it as he had the potential in his acting abilities……SRK earned all his BBs and ATBBs throuh his potential which you all always tend to ignore……even this time you are trying to give the sole credit to Deepika saying she is the show stealer and even bringing RCE against SRK…..This is your problem……you all tend to give all the credits to all except SRK while opposite in the case of AAMIR and SALMAN…..SRK have done many baf films in his carrears which resultant in flops but who cares ????….Even BIG B got various flops in his carrear but all we remember him for his hits…..
Let me remind you we SRKIANs are not like AAMIRIANS who always takes the whole credit by himself…..we give the credit to all the co actors but its you all the SRK haters attitude which makes us to say various things……
Talking about overseas grossers can you explain why AAMIR got his two highest grosser overseas with only YRF and RAJU HIRANI and why SALMAN has none 100 crs grosser. …..we SRKIANs have no hesitation in accepting that SRKs romantic image helped to attract NRIs and some foreign people which paved the way for his biggest overseas grosser……But you also must not forgot RA.1 DON 2 etc all crossed 50 crs overseas and even CE as the first masala film earned 100 crs overseas…..now pls don’t say this because of DEEPIKA and ROHIT…..If you all give YRF and DHARMA sole credit of SRKs succes in overseas then I will also give AAMIRs overseas credit to HIRANI and now YRF……Without them AAMIR will end up giving TAALASH.
@Sky — 1993-2007-.SRK and KAJOL created an awesome jodi in DDLJ which was cashed also in KKHH……Both of them had an debutant director and both become ATBB…..Let me remind you KAJOL acted with SRK in her 2nd film called BAZIGAR which was a hit…..So you just can’t give the excuse as a top heroine or famous director….
