Welcome Back is showing excellent trends in its first weekend at the box office. The film opened well on Friday, picked up on Saturday and shows on Sunday are running to packed houses at most places.
The Anees Bazmee directed film has already collected Rs 31.4 crore in its first two days and the first weekend business could cross the 50 crore mark if the film manages to sustain through the rest of the day.
Occupancy for the night / late night shows at multiplexes does tend to be on the lower side on Sunday, but the advance booking for ‘Welcome Back’ is excellent.
The film is certain to cross the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office, but what remains to be seen is if ‘Welcome Back’ can go on to be a much bigger grosser. Only three films have crossed the 100 crore mark this year – Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 cr), Tanu Weds Manu Returns (151 crore) and ABCD 2 (105 crore). Unless ‘Welcome Back’ has a surprisingly huge drop on Monday (unlikely because of positive word-of-mouth), the film should cross the 100 crore mark in its second weekend.
‘Hero’ releases in theatres next weekend, but that film belongs to a different genre altogether and if ‘Welcome Back’ holds well on Monday, business of ‘Hero’ could be affected to a certain extent next week.
The release of ‘Welcome Back’ was postponed several times and the makers didn’t go all out to promote the film either. But the popularity of the first film has resulted in a surprisingly good opening at the box office.

Only problem with akshay is that he has become greedy regarding money. He dosent care how much will it collect and will it be flop or hit. Multiple releases is tge biggest loosing factor for akshay. If he really wont to keep his stardom on top dont release any movie for maximum 1year. Then he will see the changes. One more thing i think Akshay kumar has planned every bits with producers not to show exact actual figure so if movie has collected 150cr his produser is showing 80cr so they dont have to pay the extra entertainment tax to the government. If the produsers are in loss with his mobies how come they are repeting him the indian government should definitely look in to this matter.

His good but has become greedy multiple releases no matter producers are making money or not??but my biggest question is are akshay and producers trying to show lower collection so they don’t have to pay haptic entertainment tax to the government because if his films are not making profit how the hell producers repeats him..

Just because of 1 flop doesn’t mean his stardom is over. Brothers = Akshay’s highest opener and highest opening weekend till date.
Even if Akki gives 4 flops/averages a year, he will still make it to the forbes list of top earning celebrities Haters just eat that!!
If Akki does a universally appealing movie with good content then all hell will break loose.

Akshay kumar movies perform like Hollywood movies. In Hollywood, if movie is good, it will be a good grosser while if it is bad, no matter who is starring, it will be a flop. Sometimes, even good movies in Hollywood fail. Bollywood is only industry that is star based while others are not even close to our levels.
Akki sir takes credit from Mujhse Shadi Karogi , sunny sunny kiss me baby , Maine kaha tha mere side rahega to tujhe kiss karunga . Ye hamare gali ka bahut bada shikari hai so sweet dialogbaazi from akki sir .

Watched WB today..was’nt even remotely close to its prequel,just 2-3 lol moments and that all,plus some poor graphics like the one used in the climax scenes where camels are clearly running in the background makes this film looks so cheap and some bad acting by Shruti Hassan(I wonder is she really Legend kamal hassan’s daughter) and John(fake tapori accent).
Anil,Nana,Paresh and that new girl Ankita were good.
And I have never witnessed so many ppl walking out of theatre before the film ends..
Overall still it can be watched once
