Welcome Back is showing excellent trends in its first weekend at the box office. The film opened well on Friday, picked up on Saturday and shows on Sunday are running to packed houses at most places.
The Anees Bazmee directed film has already collected Rs 31.4 crore in its first two days and the first weekend business could cross the 50 crore mark if the film manages to sustain through the rest of the day.
Occupancy for the night / late night shows at multiplexes does tend to be on the lower side on Sunday, but the advance booking for ‘Welcome Back’ is excellent.
The film is certain to cross the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office, but what remains to be seen is if ‘Welcome Back’ can go on to be a much bigger grosser. Only three films have crossed the 100 crore mark this year – Bajrangi Bhaijaan (320 cr), Tanu Weds Manu Returns (151 crore) and ABCD 2 (105 crore). Unless ‘Welcome Back’ has a surprisingly huge drop on Monday (unlikely because of positive word-of-mouth), the film should cross the 100 crore mark in its second weekend.
‘Hero’ releases in theatres next weekend, but that film belongs to a different genre altogether and if ‘Welcome Back’ holds well on Monday, business of ‘Hero’ could be affected to a certain extent next week.
The release of ‘Welcome Back’ was postponed several times and the makers didn’t go all out to promote the film either. But the popularity of the first film has resulted in a surprisingly good opening at the box office.

Floppu star akki takes a remuneration of about 20-25 crores for his every movie but he can’t even guarantee a 20 crores opening for his movies , PRDP’s trailer is expected to released with SIB so it would surely help in increasing its opening day collections, on one hand salman keeps on helping akki whenever it is possible and on other hand his pathetic fans like chameleon babaji & sunny ki chachi keep on bashing the megastar and his fans , akki fans sudhar jao I am feeling bad about myself bashing akki & babaji , please don’t force me to do all these silly things , I personally don’t have anything against babaji & akki , if babaji & chechi stop bashing salman (fake IDs notwithstanding) I will also stop bashing and if akki fans stop bashing then not a single salman fan will make fun of akki .

I know this isn’t the right place to say this but……Akshay Kumar is among the best actors of Bollywood…..And from past some years he has had his share of hits and misses just like every actor who works hard
There may be huge crowd who hates him and makes fun of him but no one can deny the fact that, also present is that huge section of audience which comes over again and again after every 3-4 months to watch his films……
People wait for his films as to what is to come….Cause he really is the BEST
And about time when SIB will release…..People will see the change….We accept SIB to be a average grosser….Trust me it has all the elements to surprise…..lv yu AK…..The best never rest…!!

Update final lifetime collections of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It has already surpassed 321cr mark but you are showing 320cr mark.
Akki’s presence wouldnt have made any big difference in the collection, Welcome was popular due to comedy of Paresh-Nana-Anil. Audience have lost trust in Akki, and collection would have been lower than this.

moral of the story is a film including a sequel works on its merit not on popularity of previous films
also john jas acted really well especially in that epic interval scene where he takes on anil kapoor.akki has done this kind of role so it would hv lacked novelty factor but john makes it work
so just shut up and wait for sib to again fail reaching the 100cr mark

I watched it today, it was very entertaining. The story was illogical with many WTF moments and twists. But the comedy works big time, Paresh-Nana-Anil trio is even better than the first film. My favourite scene was when Majnu-Uday arrive at Ghungru’s house to apologize and Ghungru uses the opportunity to insult them. It was hilarious. I hated the climax, but overall it was watchable.

My 2 most favourite actors are Salman and Akshay who in real life have always been good friends.So it really disappoints me watching fans of both the stars fighting it out with each other. Not sure why?!

welcome back is entertaining movie not better than prequel but still good. songs aren’t good, 3/5 star from me.
