At the receiving end of quite a bit of criticism for acting in two back-to-back ‘mindless entertainers’ in the form of Happy New Year and Dilwale, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has said Dilwale is not about reinventing cinema.
The film, he said, was meant to entertain the audience and it was never pretended to be something else.
“Dilwale is an unabashedly popular commercial film. It’s not pretending to be something else. It’s meant to be watched by everyone; it has romance, comedy, drama. I don’t even think that having Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan is a novelty factor as it’s just that we are doing a film together after a long time”
“Within that scape, if you’re looking for something, then Rohit Shetty has not had much of a love based storyline or relationship aspect in his films as he is more known for action and comedy. That will be novelty for Rohit. But if you ask me generically, no Dilwale is not reinventing cinema. It’s a fun commercial movie”
Khan was quick to point out to his upcoming movies, one of which is ‘FAN’ (a concept film, which is also a tribute to his fans) and Raees (based on a Gujarati don). Shah Rukh also noted that FAN is not meant to be a big holiday release, because it’s a niche film.
“If you’re looking for novelty, then you should watch out for ‘Fan’. It’s a different kind of film, supposed to be a niche.. It’s not meant to be a blockbuster releasing ahead of Christmas” he said.

means its 150-160cr film and Raees is Clashing with sultan and if it will clash then it will collect 80-100cr against sultan and if it will postpone it will huge loss fo SRK as his reputution on Sake .But then it will collect 170cr if postpones .in 2017 he has Gauri shinde film with aalia bhatt it seems 100-125cr film as i see GAuri shinde and R.Balki are not have good boxoffice records and both are only for critical acclaimed he might gets acclaimed but again the tag of “King Of Bollywood ” will on sake .
Until Rohit Shetty’s Angoor or Anand L.Rai’s film or rumored Murugadoss film Badshah are looks good for boxoffice but for this all need to wait till 2017-2018 and till then Salman and AAmir on other level .
I am not insulting SRK not against him anymore but he is lagging far behind of two other khans .
Since last 7 years SRK’S new Image hasn’t accepted by anyone even i say not even his fans too but fans always supported him .
1.His Ego and way he treated other stars .
2.He cant maintain friends due to ego
3.Choosing Bad films .(he only choosed MNIK , Chennai Express and Dilwale Since Chakde ( Ra1 ,Don2 ,JTHJ,HNY and Even RNBDJ,and OSO not upto that level RNBDJ and OSO are only blockbusters due to his stardom at peak at that time
4.Rejecting big films like Slumdog ,Robot ,2 states ,3 idiots and even latest Bajirao mastani and choosing crap films .
5.Contoversies in ipl ,anti muslim and non-patriotic image and he dont care that (Salman and aamir have changed their image and due to this and this only their Bad film also working -Pk ,Kick,D3 doent have anything special .If srk does those they will bundled out under 200.)
6.Too much public awareness he only comes when his film is to release
from here i can clearly say that its End of SRK and he will no longer bigger star next 3 years.
Sad But true he is next mr.Bachhan , Sunny Deol and Rajesh khanna who ended there career in bad phase in there last phase as a stars.
Salman ji please gave chance to talented actress like neha sharma, dp,yami gautam,rakul preet,kirti sanon,amy jackson,tamanna bhatia,illenia d cruz etc. Instead of mandana karimi, daisy shah,zarine etc

A sincere submission from an outsider, who was never your die hard fan but once upon a time respected your craft.
Mr Khan, Its just not Dilwale or any other movie you are doing or did.
Its about Shahrukh Khan the Businessman trouncing SRK the actor everyday and its pretty apparent from your choices that you are making in past 7-8 yrs.
I know many SRK fan will pounce on me for writing this but I did not liked even a single movie of yours since MNIK and the reason is very obvious your sole desire to make a blockbuster not a good cinema.
When SRK the actor was taking your career decisions you made some all time classics like Chak de India, Swades, DDLJ, Darr, K3G, Devdas etc.
and many genuinely entertaining movies like Baazigar, Kabhi Haan kabhi naa, Chamatkar, KKHH, DTPH and list is endless.
Even your commercially less successful movies like Baadshah, Phir bhi dil hai hindustani, Josh etc. are way way better than crap that you are making these days.
I am happy that you are making FAN and Raees that on papers atleast looks different.
Hope this is not an exception but new beginning of old SRK whome we all loved once.

Really disappointed, with every new movie Srk is losing more and more fanbase in my country, if fan and raees will not be up to the mark, iwill never watch srk movies first day first show, will wait review and wom. Srk u should learn from Leonardo di caprio how to choose scripts, almost all his movies after titanic became cult classics though none of them atbb. I consider aamir khan as di caprio of bollywood, he also never disappointed me, even his flop movies are much more better than many superhits and blockbusters of sk and srk. If srk keeps chasing money rather than making quality movies he will lose huge part of his fan following across the world soon. You cant fool people each time, some day they will lose faith and will totally reject you and your movies.

FAN obviously is not a glitz and glamour film and since it is not releasing on a festive season the BO numbers will suffer even if the WOM is good. The bumper initial will be practically non-existent and I guess with good WOM the maximum if would gross will be around 120-130 Cr. I will be happy if I am proved wrong though :)
Coming to Raees, the scenario gets interesting…the question is with the current fate of Dilwale will SRK risk a clash with the might of Salman? If I were SRK I won’t do that. If he postpone it then till when? Coz the next month itself Mohenjo Daro (with a possible clash with Rustom) will be releasing and considering the hype and curiosity surrounding MJD and also considering that will be Hrithik’s first release in 2 years SRK might not want to release Raees in that period too….game gets interesting hehe

Yes Dilwale isn’t what you call Masterpiece but it is surely something great and different. A director who is known for making mindless comedies this is what you call his movies. But did you find any cheap humour, vulgarity etc. in any of his movies. A great director like Raju Hirani has used a cheap dialogue(Balatkar in 3i and Condom in PK) in both films that he made with Aamir. Sadly people accepted it because he is not Shahrukh Khan so everything is good.
Yes Dilwale isn’t what SRK is known for but Dilwale is definitely the best movie in its genre which is action comedy. As an actor its his responsibility to make movies for every section of the society and arguably he has done well at least with Dilwale. He has made multiplex oriented movies in the past but just 3 masala movies and you’re saying this.
SRK is an actor who has provided gems of Indian Cinema with his movies in the past. He has done almost every kinda movie except a satire on Indian RELIGIONS because just a misconstrued statement has lead to so much hypocrisy then you may yourself imagine what would have happened.
And Dilwale never looked a different niche or epic movie on papers as the Director isn’t known for it. The director is known for CLEAN ENTERTAINING FAMILY movies. Where Dilwale is 1000% perfect.
Fan is going to be a treat for Fans of every actor. You just have to feel as if your fav actor is in that movie and correlate yourself. And people say its going to be flop and all.
My dear friends and SRK haters, time will tell what will happen to Fan but please try to become human being rather than being human. Watch a movie for what it is made not for bashing it. FAN’s teaser has been universally accepted and its clear its going to be big. And there is a big chance that FAN’s trailer will come with Airlift. So two great things will happen together. Enjoy both as a Bollywood lover not a particular star hater.
Yeah, good luck with FAN, Mr.SRK. The last SRK’s movie which was received well by both critics and audience was Chak De India (blockbuster). You also have to check out Airlift for novelty. The biggest human evacuation in the world. 1,70,000 refugees and 1 savior.

Was a horse of a different color before it was released now you are doing another uturn going with a different concept where the film is concerned. SRK is just trying to defend his commercial movies . In this decade SRK is going down and down . If we leave MNIK and Don 2 all his movies were craps, stupid and dumb . I am sure even Dilwale is a crap and some people are saying CE and HNY are better than Dilwale and if it is compared with CE and HNY this shows the class of all 3 movies . Apart from movies the image of SRK is deteriorating day by day . In 2012 during the success bash of Agneepath SRK slapped Shirish Kunder . In the same year he fought with the security guard of Wankhede Stadium for which he was banned to enter the stadium by 5 years and in 2015 MCA revoked the ban on SRK . And now this year on his 50th Birthday he said there is intolerance in India and one day before the release of Dilwale he said there is no intolerance in India and his statement was misinterpreted . Many people boycotted Dilwale because they were deeply affected and hurt by his statement . Even some SRK Fans did not watched Dilwale because of this statement . He also sounds too arrogant . Sometimes it looks self confidence but most of the times it looks pride . There is a thin line between Self Confidence and Arrogance and most of the times crosses this line and that too in public events . I am looking forward to Fan and Raees because they are looking different but whether they are content oriented or not only time will tell ………………..
