Salman Khan after a lean patch, which included several disasters Post-Partner (2006), has finally hit the bullseye at the Indian box-office.
Wanted has broken the 1st Monday record set by Ghajini in December last year, which is an achievement in itself although Monday was a nation-wide holiday. With weekend business of around 18 crores and EID business of 7 crores, Wanted takes its 4 day total to a spectacular 25 crores. With business expected to remain steady over the working weekdays, the Salman Khan starrer could end up with a net gross of 38 crores for Week 1. We predicted 45 crores for the week, but due to the movie not performing upto expectation in multiplexes especially on Day 1 and 2, the collections would be slightly short of extra-ordinary / record breaking.
The word of mouth is fantastic and the movie is dominating the single screens in smaller cities and towns.
Salman Khan has finally scored at the box office and returns with a bang into the Top 5. Ayesha Takia Azmi’s couldn’t have hoped for a better start post-marriage. And finally Prabhu Deva is a director to look forward tom he’ll be in demand much like Ghajini director AR Murugadoss.
Update : The latest updates trickling in indicate out-of-the-world business on Tuesday, close to 6 crores nett gross. Business on Wednesday has been very steady. 40 crores in Week 1 is possible!!
Dil Bole Hadippa update : For those wondering about Dil Bole Hadippa’s fate, here’s bad news. The movie has crashed on Tuesday almost everywhere, Wednesday witnessed a further drop in collections. HIT is highly unlikely, a flop could be signs of a remarkable career coming to an end. Time for Rani to get married, you think?

Salman has a bad habit of ruining his reputation of ‘SUCCESS GUARANTEED superstar’ by working in low budget movies for the sake of friendship and all…….. But in movies well selected like TERE NAAM n WANTED he is a real SUPERSTAR !!! I expect salman to be serious to his fan followings and give quality movies like WANTED………… Looking forword to LONDON DREAMS !!! We all wish SALMAN to carry on coz he is ATTITUDE personified.

the tamil and telugu versions were super hits for Vijay and Mahesh babu who starred in the 2 languages respectively. so it is no wonder that Wanted is a similar hit in Hindi too

Wanted is definately a superb movie. i went to watch it with mediocre expectations and was surprised at the outcome….Salman Khan’s performance is the most effortless i have seen since AAA and HAHK. He is much more flexible, fitter, looking younger and more expressionful than he has ever been before…i wonder whether he has had some plastic surgery..nah just joking.
Prabhu Deva has made a very good film with good direction, editing etc and has fitted it well in the masala mode for bollywood audience. though it has some typical South Indian action sequences etc, Salman makes it believable just like Rajnikant.
Prakash Raj gives an incredible performance…For the first time I wished the Villain lived a little longer to add more entertainment…
Ayesha Takia has given a cute performance … she looks very pretty and the couple look great all along. The anarkali and salim sequence is out of the world.
Salman Khan is back with a bang….I bet Katrina Kaif will go running after him again….as she must have probably thought he was dipping but now the world knows he is back and she has to maintain her innings in the industry and surely, she cannot last long without Salman…after all she cannot act for nuts and pretty faces dont last long…but for supporters like Salman Khan backing them ! I like Salman Khan for one reason. Too much of negative publicity against, Salman Khan which made me realise some unseen hand s handling it. There is a limit for everything and I evinced interest in the affairs of Salman Khan and realised that He is a very good actor and ultimately Became one of his fans.
I have seem most of his films in my house through CDs. But when Wanted was released I wanted to see it in the theatre and I went to a theatre in Fraser town and was really thrilled with his macho He man like Role of a Killer and from the very bigining to theend It is out and out an entertainer and I enjoyed the film. He remainded me and appeared like the local Indian Terminator. Now it appears to be a big hit. Congradulations, to Salman, Prabudeva and Boney Kapoor.
