The biggest stars in Bollywood are aging and aging quick! All Khan’s are soon to touch 45 and Akshay Kumar turned 42 exactly a month ago. Soon they may not be as big a stars as they are today. What then? Who is gonna pull audience in hordes to theaters?
Bollywood is desperately in need of younger ‘superstars’, a star who can shatter box-office records during the first weekend purely by his popularity and star power like the Khan’s, Kumar’s and Roshan’s have done for years!
Although Hrithik has a long way to go.. he has just about a release every year. So who else? List of 13 actors for you to choose from.
Abhishek Bachchan – Seems to have missed the boat unfortunately. He could go on to be known as a “good actor” in intense roles, but after about 10 years in the industry, he still needs a multi starrer under a good director for a decent box office initial. Not good enough.
Ranbir Kapoor – Immensely talented, has made some decent choices in the recent past and should make it to the Top 3 soon! But what’s worrying is the fact that although his last 2 films have been good, the box-office collections just doesn’t reflect the same. Bachna Ae Haseeno had popular songs, good star-cast.. yet was an average grosser. Ditto for Wake Up Sid – Great music, huge banner, critically acclaimed – above average at the box office.
Shahid Kapoor – Same age as Ranbir, but has been in the industry for much longer. And much like Ranbir, Shahid needs that ‘big opener’ to make it to the big league. Kaminey opened well, but not well enough. Also, the combined nett gross (40 crores) of Shahid’s most critically acclaimed and biggest hit Kaminey is less than the opening of Singh Is King, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi or Ghajini!
Imran Khan – Well, he had a dream debut, but his last couple of releases have been box office disasters. He isn’t blessed with talent like Ranbir or Shahid but Imraan is still young and has a long way to go. He is sure to improve as an actor. You think Imran is the future superstar? Neil Nitin Mukesh – Very talented, was fantastic in Johnny Gaddar and New York but ‘superstar’ material, we doubt!
Harman Baweja – Written off as a Hrithik clone, Harman has worked hard and has undoubtedly grown as an actor. Yet he has a long long way to go.
Farhan Akhtar – Does off-beat roles and someone whose popularity is restricted to the metro’s. Unlikely to be mass accepted.

in all honesty, it is obvious who the superstars of tomorrow are:
shahid kapoor – already on his way. just a question of time !
ranbir kapoor – needs to be image conscious a bit and media savvy. stick to good banners.
sikander kher – just needs a break, then his on his way.
abhay deol – just needs the right films, right roles.
all of the above have superstar pedigree in them. and can be big if they do the right things.
although neil nitin mukesh is good, no superstar pedigree. too much of a plane simple boy. not too intelligent. will soon fall into the character parts category.
Fathiya: I didn’t find anything extra ordinary in DBH as far as Shahid’s acting is concerned. First of all, Acting like a coach didn’t fit him at all… He was named the captain of the team and he acted like a coach through out…… I don’t get it….. O.k They showed him coming from UK playing with better players there but that doesn’t mean that He can come and teach Indians how to play cricket like they don’t know how to play??? It looked like Lagaan in between but it was not supposed to be… Sorry for that but that’s the fact….. I really found the movie’s subject faked and not acceptable…….
As far as Bollywood/Hollywood difference is concerned, Hollywood is still far ahead of bollywood…. Their audience is very different and it will be unfair to compere Bollywood with Hollywood…..In Bollywood, these days the actor who has variety of talents can become big otherwise he suffers like you said about Ajay Devgan…For John, I am afraid the same rule applies as Indian Audience is looking for every thing in one actor……..John only lacks dancing skills other than that he is fine……..
Fahad: I think u r very sensitive person.. now while I was watching DBH, I didn’t think the way u did ( probably then that’s one of the reasons that the indian audience couldn’t digest the movie!!).. now if the team wasn’t strong enough to win, and they used to fail opposite other teams.. so what’s the best decision to make then? to let them win?! Anoupan Khen had no choice only to let his son who was the coach of a team in UK to come and settle in India, to train those players to the best.. what’s wrong in that?! in the movie, the team of that village were poor and that was a fact which they had to face!
U said that u didn’t find Shahid so good.. then pls watch Blue for Akshay Kumar.. you’ll find his acting (zero) comparing to Shahid’s acting in Kamineh and DBH.. I’ll post my review after a while.. I saw Blue today and I was sorry that I’ve wasted my time over this movie.. silly and poor in direction.
Bollywood movies are good and improving day by day ( and Fahad: don’t think that hollywood movies are all good.. every week they show at least 5 new movies in our cinemas and sometimes none of them are good ).
I would request the indian audience to change.. aren’t they tired of watching actors dancing in every movie?!!
They must change their mentality.. if they love to see dancing scenes then they can go to night clubs, some other shows and see ppl dancing on the stages!
I think that shahid was extremely great in dil bole hadippa and kaminey. I think he will do great in the future. He has just got everything to be a complete actor. I don’t think anybody ccan overcome him on that.

Hye, hrithwik is undoubtedly next big b of tomorrow. He is as versatile as big b and amir at the same time has better body and dancing techniques. He is quick learner and very intelligent, very good as an actor in choosing right script. He has charismatic screen presence as well as huge fan base. With time he will be close to amir in versatality and script sense while it will be remarkable achievement if he achieves even 75% of big b’s acting skills. With father sr. Roshan to back him up and with being more marketing shavvy like amir and shahrukh he can do wonders who knows he may surpass even big b interms of popularity. Apart luckily he has strong fan base like akki and salman and also big banners to back up like shahrukh which assured he is here to remain for a long long time. Only actor who can surpass him when it comes to intense role is abhisekh bachchan while vivek oberoi will be a close call given a right sript and right director. Other than ranbir kapoor is only person who shows sparks being superstar of tomorrow.
Shahid had made sparks that no actor has made in such a young age. Undoubtedly, he is the super star of tomorrow. He was outstandingly good in Kaminey, Jab we met, Vivah, Dil bole hadippa, and Ishq Vishq. I don’t think anybody can cross him. Ranbir had his father to support him but, shahid found his way up the top all by himself. So, HE IS THE SUPERSTAR OF TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER.

Indicine Team- Like everyone, you and all others have here underrated vivek for the next superstar. I think he is the most underrated actor of bollywood. His performances have always been earnest and consistent. His performance in shootout….is one of the best you’ll see. And about press conference incident, i think everyone commits mistakes and it shud be forgotten now.

At first i told that shahid and ranbir are both are good actor in bollywood.after 2-5 years shahid will be rank 1 actor replacing by srk and ranbir will be rank 2 actor replacing by sallu in bollywood.i love them very much.they are also so cute.there are no compare between them.but shahid is slite better ranbir.
I think Ranbir is way better than Shahid Kapoor! Ranbir acts so well in his films. His current release Rockstar will be a hit not a flop! So all you people who are abusing Ranbir better stop. He is the best and he will be the next superstar not Shahid! Shahid could never do a complex role well the way Ranbir does it. Ranbir is the best. I’m not saying Shahid is not good, but its the truth that Ranbir is much better. Ranbir is more versatile than Shahid Kapoor. Ranbir rocks all the way. I love you soo much Ranbir!
