Vivek Oberoi out of Shootout At Wadala

Vivek Oberoi, who was supposed to be a part of ‘Shootout at Wadala’, the sequel to the 2007 hit Shootout at Lokhandwala, has now gone ahead and signed Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘David’.

Says producer Sanjay Gupta “Me and my co-producer Balaji Telefilms just got tired of waiting for Vivek to make up his mind. What we didn’t understand is why Vivek chose to give us the impression he loved the script and that he was on. Anyway, we already have a very strong alternative in mind. We’ll make the announcemement soon.”

The ensemble cast of Shootout At Wadala has John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Ronit Roy and a debutante Siddhant (son of Shakti Kapoor). The film is scheduled to go on floors soon.

In his next film ‘David’, Vivek is the main protagonist. Tabu and south-Indian actor Vikram are also a part of the film.

Rejecting a huge multi-starrer, for a film like David, makes us wonder if Vivek has made the right decision. Is he still capable of bringing in the audience? Even though he has a film like Krrish 3, not being a part of Shootout at Wadala could hurt him. After all, it was his performance in Shootout and Lokhandwala that resurrected his career after the Salman Khan episode.
