Hrithik in the video is on top of a house or a building performing a stunt, he doesnt get it right the first time and signals for a re-take. The Krrish star has a very different look in Kites. With a stubble on, he looks.. umm I’ll leave it to the girls to comment.
The movie has a lot at stake and is reportedly sold for Rs 120 crores even before the shooting for the film began. Kites is produced by Filmkraft (Rakesh Roshan) and directed by Anurag Basu of Life in a Metro

You must explain to me why you liked Paheli and OSO. Personally, I could not stretch my imagination to accept a ghostly spirit leading a normal human life, a ghost falling in love, a ghost who could be felt and could feel [as in touch] , a ghost who could be trapped in a leather pouch and not escape! Personally I cannot accept such fantastic artistic liberties. Also, Devdas was beautifully made. SRK spoilt it completely by overacting. Same for OSO. I agree with you that Omkara was truly phenominal! The way in which Saif acted in Omkara shows that he has potential. But I could not stand him in Tara Rum Pum and Tashn. He is a very inconsistent actor.
Ofcourse we are all looking forward to the release of Kites. I hope and pray Hrithik keeps up his record of excellence. I agree entirely about ur views on Jodha Akbar. Hrithik became his character. And so everything felt real. Same for KKKG. Thank God SRK was not allowed to dominate this film.
Fathiya, good evening to you too, and hope all is well. I am sorry but I cannot share your views of SRK. Although I did very much like Veer Zaara. Upon reflection, I realised the reason why I liked it was that over most of the film, SRK was subdued and quiet and serious.
Tonight, I have decided to revisit JYTJYN and LS2050 just for you. Let’s see if I can be convinced to accept your views of these two films. But as for SRK, I will never change my mind about him. By now, he should have developed into such a perfect actor having been in the industry for so many years, but alas he is as bad as ever. But I dont blame him, public adoration, numerous awards, and successful politiking have all gone to his head. Hrithik and Amir hold the torch of Bollywood high, as Sandra said Fanaa was too good! And so was TZP and so was RDB and so was Lagaan. And nobody can forget Amir’s wonderful work in Dil Chata Hai. But as I have said before, both Hrithik and Amir are media-shy and therefore cannot hold the position of King[s] of Bollywood. So its ok for SRK and Akshay to battle it out, but for the true critic, Amir and Hrithik are the real Baadshahs!!

I loved Fana too, Omkara was a brilliant movie, I watched it twice, Dil Chata Hai one of my favourite romantic comedy movie, I saw it many times.
Sandra: I don’t know how old u r but I don’t think that u will enjoy watching JTYJN. It’s good for the ages from 16-22 meaningless, about a college boy and a girl .. the hype for this movie was just because it was Aamir Khan’s movie.. that’s all. Let’s see.. u may love it.. I don’t know.. I loved only 2 songs and Genelia’s brother (Amit) in the movie, that’s all.
And.. watch Rock On, it’s really a good movie.

I will reply about the movie Paheli and the reason why I loved it:
I believe in ghosts as in our religon as muslims, it’s written in our Quran, and many ppl saw ghosts, there r good ghosts, and there r bad ones, just like human, we got many many examples about ghosts alive, they do exist. My grandmother used to tell me and my brothers true stories about ghosts, and one of them that her grandmother was married to a ghost and had also kids!! Could u believe it?! I couldn’t but she said that it’s a fact, a ghost fell in love with her grandmother and she married him! Paheli reminded me of this story, therefore I believed in the movie and loved it, loved also Shahrukh’s performance in the movie with Rani. And what about Swades, didn’t u like it? Shahrukh’s performance was also good in this movie.
ABD: If u r going to watch Love Stoy 2050 2night, just ignore Harman’s dialogue and his accent ’cause honestly.. I didn’t like it too in some scenes, but not in all the scenes, and remember that Priyanka is acting as a sweet romantic shy girl, then in the 2nd half, she’s completely a different character, a girl who doesn’t believe in love, I loved her makeup and costumes in the 2nd half specially in the song: Hey u lover boy will u be my toy.. the special effects was so good in this song and the song too.

Paheli to me was a “fairytale” which means it can be anything it wants to be and it doesn’t have to have an element of believability about it. The definition of a “fairytale” is “an interesting but highly implausible story”, which is what Paheli was. I can’t really explain why I liked it but I did and I thought Shahrukh in the dual roles as the ghost and the boring husband was delightful. And frankly I’d rather fall in love with a ghost because human beings can be so hurtful!
As for OSO I loved it from the beginning and got all in the in jokes including when Shahrukh and Farah Khan were in the audience for the HMV show with Rishi Kapoor; I thought it was hilarious. And it met my golden rule for my definition of a good film – I didn’t hit f/fwd once and can watch it over and over again and love it every time!
Should we always blame the actors if a film flops? I don’t believe so because it’s not only the actors who make the films; there are the directors, the producers, the scriptwriters, the choreographers, the camermen etc etc? I understand an actor can be a bad actor but sometimes if the material he’s given to work with is terrible, even the most talented actors can only do their worst!

I’m looking forward to seeing LOVE STORY 2050 but this thing about Harman looking like HRITHIK – I just cannot see it, at least not in any of the pictures I’ve seen anyway! But as I’ve yet to see the film I’ll see if it’s true! But I will be open minded and give Harman a chance and will be honest if I like it or not.
Another film I loved was Saawariya, which I’m sure it will have it’s critics but it was visually stunning and individually Ranbir, Sonam, Rani and Zohra gave really lovely performances; I was mesmerised by it.
As for KITES it’s like waiting for a knight in shining armour to come along (I know they don’t REALLY exist!) – the anticipation is thrilling and exciting and I hope when it finally arrives it lives up to expectations! And I will DEFINATELY be seeing ROCK ON because I like Arjun Rampal too (even though he took a while to warm up in the acting stakes) and I already have the soundtrack on my itunes. I LOVE Socha Hai!

About Harman, he doesn’t look like Hrithik in all the scenes in the movie, but in most of the scenes, he got the same height, the face, the body and similar features, almost same voice, he’s just like his younger brother, he’s cute, my cousin met him at a hotel in Sri Lanka in summer and she confirmed that he’s handsome, similar to Hrithik, unfortunately, u missed it as it was nice to see this movie on a big screen because of the special effects.
About Saawariya, best of Sanjay Leela Bhansali.. I killed myself trying to convince ppl on some websites, including this web and during the release of the movie, that the movie is great, outstanding, but.. u can’t change pple’s opinion, sometimes they pickup some silly.. stupid. minor stuff as an excuse that the movie wasn’t good.. e.g. they didn’t like the blue/green shade, the background.. they didn’t like the (indoors) shooting and was so boring for them!!
Arjun Rampal was so good in his role in Rock On, I love his voice, and the best thing is that it’s based on a true story. It’s worth watching. If the movie still running in cinema, watch it on a big screen, u will enjoy it more.

I believe we should all have the right to express our opinions but not to be rude and use foul language in replies. Why not? Well the reason for us, to give it a good thought is.. Maintaining a forum isnt easy, with all the spammers and also the crazy fans that Bollywood is blessed with.. You remember the Singh Is King box-office topic I hope.. The discussion was so passionate that some members started abusing..
Also, we need to ensure the Forum is well promoted so there are enough members to discuss and the forum stays active.
Sandra, the process would be like, every member has to register once before posting for the first time. And yes, there will be moderators along with rules and regulations. Breaking rules would result in a warning the first time, followed by a permanent ban.
We ourselves are eagerly awaiting Hrithik’s return, interview on Kites will be up soon!

From all the vibes about Kites I would be very surprised if it wasn’t a hit; there again as I say, it shouldn’t matter what the critics and the accountants say, if we all like a film so what if the critics opinion is not favourable? I’ve read on Indicine how some contributers hound others until they agree with their no.1 Bollywood actor; for me HRITHIK ROSHAN is my number one but if he isn’t for someone else that’s fine. It’s all about choice and a definition of choice is that the indivdual is at liberty to make a decision based on their preference of alternatives.

Even though Fiza isn’t a personal favourite of mine I can see through my own opinion of the film and say that HRITHIK did give a good performance. It’s just overall, as a film, it’s not a personal favourite.
I think KITES is scheduled for release in JUNE 2009 and JUNE 2009 can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned!

Saw this today at a special screening. I really loved the movie. The action sequences are the best I’ve ever seen in an Indian movie. No one except Akshay Kumar could have pulled this off. I think he has finally arrived outside of comedy with this movie, although he has a lot of comic moments too. Deepika is good too. It was good to see a heroine doing more than just looking pretty and singing songs. She really did a good job. But I loved Gordon Liu more than anything. He is pure evil. Great to see the master back in action. My complaint with the movie was the ending… it could have been longer and I would have liked to see more action but overall I liked what they did with the story. They had a plot and did something with it. The songs are well shot and not much of a hindrance. The movie is a visual extravaganza.
Overall a terrific entertainer.
