Video: Hrithik Roshan in Kites!!

Here is a video that is simply a must watch! The video of superstar and superhero Hrithik Roshan performing some great stunts for his upcoming film with Barbara Mori. The movie titled Kites is currently is currently into production.

Hrithik in the video is on top of a house or a building performing a stunt, he doesnt get it right the first time and signals for a re-take. The Krrish star has a very different look in Kites. With a stubble on, he looks.. umm I’ll leave it to the girls to comment.

The movie has a lot at stake and is reportedly sold for Rs 120 crores even before the shooting for the film began. Kites is produced by Filmkraft (Rakesh Roshan) and directed by Anurag Basu of Life in a Metro

Once again, do watch the Kites video and dont forget to leave your comments on Hrithik and Kites below.

  • I think the film team shouldn’t show the tricks they do for movies, it spoils it as we all know that when a hero jumps from a building or a house he’s been tiedup with a string which after shooting, and on the screen, the audience would be unable to see it, as it has been edited, So they just spoil it when they do show the audience all the tricks for movies!

  • I love this and I adore Hrithik. What I like about this first look at Kites is he really looks like he’s having fun; such lovely expressions & mannerisms @ 47 seconds…x.

  • Fathiya, its common knowledge that actors jump around with strings attached. Its like saying an actor shouldnt reveal his real life lover, as the audience wont be able to digest the romance while he romances an actress on screen.

Take Krrish as an example. You wouldnt expect Hrithik to doall those action scenes without strings would you.. So movies are make believe.. As long as they show something convincingly.. It doesnt matter.

Anyways, it isnt allowed to shoot videos while a film shoot is in progress. But these days with every mobile phone being equipped with a decent enough video recording system.. Its hard to keep someone away from shooting. As you can see the video has been shot from far and then zoomed to focus on Hrithik.

Ashutosh Gowariker did a good job by banning mobile phones and digital cameras on the sets of Jodha Akbar.. Even then a couple of on-the-sets pictures were out, shot from top of a building. Its real hard to shot someone from shooting these days. Its usually someone from the crew itself who shoots and then sells the pictures to the media! Yes it does happen!

  • Indicine Team: you r right in what u have mentioned, but u know.. when I watch a movie e.g. Krrish, when he used to jump around from one building to another, I used to say to myself: How did they do it?! So it’s good to keep the audience “thinking” guessing, and trying to find out the tricks, which way they did it.. how could Hrithik do it and keep asking yourself, but if u saw these tricks before the release of any movie, it just “spoils” it. I mean to say, if we saw the above video after the release of the movie, in the special features of the movie and while the dvd is released, under the making of the movie, that would be ok because we’ve seen the movie, enjoyed it, so it doesn’t matter, but see it before the release, that’s not a good idea, but as u said that it’s difficult for them to control it as people can use their mobile camera, so they can’t avoid it.

  • WHY DID YOU REMOVE MY POST???? YOU STOLE MY VIDEO AND YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR SUBSCRIBERS TO KNOW…THIS HRITHIK VIDEO IS OURS AND INDICINE.COM STOLE IT..I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO YOUTUBE.

  • HRITHIK is absolute without question my NO.1; I totally adore him and am in awe of his talents as an actor and a dancer. I love that he’s a dedicated family man and supports a number of charities and that he puts 110% into his work. However I haven’t enjoyed all his films & if I had to give them (MY) marks out of ten they would be as follows:

    Jodhaa Akbar (2008) ….10/10

    Dhoom:2 (2006) …. 10/10

    Krrish (2006) …. 10/10

    Lakshya (2004) …. 9/10

    Koi… Mil Gaya (2003) …. 10/10

Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon (2003) …. 5/10

    Mujhse Dosti Karoge! (2002) …. 9/10

Na Tum Jaano Na Hum (2002) ….5/10

Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage (2002) …. 1/10 (being completely shallow here the 1/10 was for Hrithik’s physique because the film overall was so awful).

    Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001) ….10/10

    Yaadein… (2001) …. 4/10

    Mission Kashmir (2000) …. 4/10

    Fiza (2000) …. 3/10

    Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000)….10/10

Of course some people won’t agree with my marks but it doesn’t matter; it’s all about PERSONAL CHOICE. I’ve been fascinated by the arguments between various people who have contributed to the “debate” on Indicine about who is the NO.1 ACTOR in BOLLYWOOD because some ofthe comments have been quite personal when they needn’t have been.

We all like who we like – is it really necessary to get so uptight with other contributers because they don’t agree with our personal preferences? At the end of the day we are all passionate about Hindi/Bollywood
cinema so why argue &fall out about something we all love?

ps LOOKING FORWARD to Krrish 2 (2009)
    Kites (2009)
    Luck by Chance (2008)…guest appearance.

  • Sandra: your list was ok, but why do u give Fiza only 3/10?!! It was a good movie, I saw it 3 times since the release and also his performance was quite good!

  • Fiza was a good movie and in my opinion one of Hrithik’s best performances.

Rating would be around 3.5 stars!

  • Hello Fathiya,
I only gave Fiza 3/10 because I personally didn’t like the film very much, even though I love Hrithik. You thought it was a good film and I didn’t. This illustrates perfectly that how good a film is, is purely ones own choice and with Fiza I didn’t really like it.

That’s not to say, for you, it wasn’t a good film but for me personally it only scored 3/10. I’ve learnt that you can’t tell someone a film is good and expect them to have the same opinion because we are all individuals and we all like different things. But I love discussions like these because people are so passionate about Bollywood – and at the same time I also respect that people won’t have the same likes and dislikes as me.

I hope this ok with you and very much look forward to discussing all things Bollywood should we both comment on anything on Indicine again. I’ve read lots of your comments and think it’s wonderful how freely you express your opinions!

At the end of the day if we all liked the same Bollywood films we wouldn’t be having these discussions so I say hoorah we are all different and long may these animated discussions continue!!!
    Sandra :-) x.

p.s.Please forgive me all Sharukh fans because I’m sure this is going to raise a few hackles but I didn’t really enjoy Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (which I believe ran for over 500 weeks consecutively at a cinema in Bombay from when it opened in 1995), Dil To Pagal Hai or Chalte Chalte either, yet my collegues at work raved about them & told me I must watch because they were good films.

  • Sandra: Hi.. me too.. I love discussion about movies and to know other people’s opinions, but what I don’t like on this web that lots of ppl take your opinion (personally!) if u don’t agree with them they attack, they swear and say bad words, and that’s because they’re idiots and nothing else.

Well, what u have said is 100% correct.. sometimes we agree and sometimes we disagree, I agreed with your list but I really considered Fiza as a good movie although it didn’t do well at the box office, I think it was an average movie and that proves that most of Indian ppl didn’t like it.

And what we like or don’t is nothing to do with the box office collection.. our taste, u and me, is similar because I didn’t like DDLJ, Dil To Paagal Hai & Chalte Chalte that much, and I considered KKHH & Dil Se & Asoka much better movies for SRK than the above 3.. If KKHH worked for all these years in India I wouldn’t be surprised because it was a great movie, a great fun, but DDLJ was good in the 2nd half more than the 1st half. About Chalte Chalte, the script was good but I didn’t like some scenes in the movie, Shahrukh’s acting in the last scene, airport scene. What I didn’t really like about Dil To Paagl Hai is the following: The way the couple meet and fall in love was so cold as Madhuri was waiting so eagerly to meet her dream man, and Shahrukh’s role wasn’t so strong in the movie.

I’ve explained why I didn’t like some movies, what about you that u didn’t like Fiza.. what’s the reason? Hope u would answer my question.

  • Hi Fathiya,
Do you know what? I am going to watch Fiza again this weekend and see what it was I didn’t enjoy. I only watched it once and that was a while ago. So I will watch it again and who knows my opinion may change for the better! Will get back to you Monday. Have a lovely weekend – to everyone.

    Sandra x.

  • Sandra: yah.. that’s a good idea, to watch the movie again.. and u know what.. sometimes when we see a movie for 1st time, we don’t like it much for different reasons ( if we weren’t in a good mood, or our mind was busy and couldn’t concentrate on all the scenes or weren’t feeling comfortable, ppl surrounding us, a noisy place, etc.)

When I saw Fiza in cinema for 1st time with my sister, we both said: it’s not a bad movie, we loved the songs specially (Mehboob Mere) which was performed by Sushmita Sen, but after few years, I watched it again and I loved it more, and only 3 weeks ago, I bought a copy of the movie and watched it for 3rd time, and found it a very good movie, it’s a different script and Karishma’s performance was excellent with Jaya Pachan who won an award as a best supporting actress for the movie, the only scene which I didn’t like is the last song in the movie, where Karishma dances and sing in a night club, that wasn’t a necessary scene in the movie.
I’m sure u will enjoy it this time, have a good day Sandra and all of u on Eid occasion.

  • Hrithik Roshan is a very hardworking and genuine actor. He’s kaho na… pyaar broked the all records. His chemistry greatly work’s with amisha patel

  • Sandra: Hello.. where r u dear? U didn’t tell me if u hv watched Fiza, or probably u didn’t yet.. I’m waiting for your feed back on the movie.

  • Hello Fathiya,
So sorry haven’t got back to you as still haven’t had a moment to watch Fiza over the weekend because of work commitments. Tonight is the night though so will give you my revised (for better or worse?!) opinion tomorrow. I still love it that we all have such varied opinions and likes/dislikes of films because there are some films that people on Indicine have said they hated, I actually quite enjoyed.

Perhaps Fiza will make it onto my favourites list after I watch it again this evening who knows?!

    Sandra x.

P.S. I lived and worked in Bahrain at the end of Dec 90 to Apr 91 & loved every minute of my time there!

  • Sandra: Means u lived in Bahrain 17 years be4! Then u have to pay it a visit again, as Bahrain developed and changed in these 17 years.

I’ll wait for your reply, have a good day.

  • Hello folks,
I too am a die-hard Hrithik fan. It is true that individual preferences may differ but I always believe we can learn from each other, and in so doing, develop our taste for quality art of cinema. That is why I always, in my comments, try my level best to justify the reasons why I feel a particular performer or a particular film is good or not so good. I therefore appeal to all to please give us your reasons when you feel an actor or film is good and also when you feel an actor or a film is not so good. With reference to Sandra I am happy to see that you appreciate Hrithik’s magnificent talent but I would appeal to you to please revisit Mission Kashmir and Fiza. Truly Hrithik was mind blowing in these two films. I do not think any Bollywood actor could have matched up, not even Amir Khan. I do agree with the rest of your ratings. I hope we shall continue with these fruitful discussions. It pains me that I have not so far been able to see the video clip of Kites. I will try my best to download it.
As for SRK I agree completely with Sandra [Sorry Fathiya] I personally have never really enjoyed any of SRK’s performances even tho some of his films as a whole have been good [KKHH, Swades, Veer Zaara] Almighty Allah has been very gracious to SRK. He has indeed been very lucky and that is it – his success has been due to pure luck. It is a pity that actors like Amir Khan and Hrithik keep such a low profile, and sign on at most two films a year. Otherwise, they would have toppled SRK’s hold on the No 1 seat long time ago. If a flaky actor such as Akshay, with just a few successes, has shaken SRK’s kingly position then what does this say about SRK as a performer?
So Sandra, I am happy to have read ur comments for the first time today and hope to read many more in the coming days.
    Bye for now.

  • Hello ABD,
Besides from a female perspective adoring Hrithik for his looks and physique, above all else, I genuinly believe is a truly gifted actor. As well as revisiting FIZA I will look again at MISSION KASHMIR and see if my overall impressions of them improve. But please don’t be cross if my opinions remain the same?!

I thoroughly enjoy discussing Hindi/Bollywood cinema because I am in a minority of one, amongst my friends and family, in that I love Bollywood and they just do not get my passion for it. It’s like, “you’re white (they even throw in” you’re blonde”) and English, how come you like Indian films?” Because we all have our hobbies and passions, and mine just happens to be Bollywood films.

Some people throw their money away on cigarettes and alcohol (I’ve never touched either), but my “addiction” is that I like to add to my collection of Bollywood films. Part of the enjoyment of Bollywood is talking about it too, hence I love the opportunity to talk with people like yourself and Fathiya, who are passionate about the same thing as I am.

So I look forward to lots more discussions from here on in, and I’ve no doubt when KITES come out next year we shall all have our own opinions as to wether HRITHIK has pulled off another hit after JODHAA AKBAR.

    Love to everyone

    Sandra x.

  • Sandra: So u r British?! For 1st time I hear this.. a British girl loves bollywood and Indian movies.. that’s a good news, means Western ppl started to love some Indian movies, and u sound a very good girl, your comments and the way u express u feelings proves it.. u r so good and polite.

ABD: I still don’t know if u r a man or a woman!! I thought u r a man, but while reading yr comment, your reply for Sandra, I felt that u r a woman and not a man.

And what u hv mentioned about Akshay & Shahrukh, if Akshay did some hit movies and lots of ppl consider him the new king it doesn’t mean that Shahrukh has lost his title as the King of Bollywood or he failed, if Shahrukh did some flop movies recently.. yes.. Akshay could’ve defeated shahrukh, but Shahrukh still in his position, and his new movies would say so, if he will continue in bollywood as the king or will be just one of the top 5 only.

  • Hello Fathiya,
Yes I am English and I have a passion for Hindi/Bollywood cinema. I like to educate people I know when they make gentle fun of me about my love for Indian films, and try to convey to them that they shouldn’t have such cliched view of what Indian cinema is all about.

People tell me they can see the enthusiasm in my eyes and hear it in my voice and see how animated I become when I enthuse about my love of Bollywood; so much so they call me the Bollywood Princess where I work! Even a collegue I work with who is Asian said, “Heavens Sandra you know more about Bollywood than I do and I’m Asian!”. My other Asian collegues come to me and ask me about all the latest releases and the latest Bollywood happenings, and what I recommend to watch.

My dream job, after the one I do now, would be to be an ambassador for Indian Cinema then my passion would be my work! What a lovely thought!

I will let you and ADB know tomorrow my thoughts of FIZA and MISSION KASHMIR, and I promise to watch them until the end without hitting f/fwd once then I can give you a complete and honest re-review!

    Sandra x.

P.S. I am also teased because I have a picture of HRITHIK (from his Cinthol ads) on my coffee cup!

  • Sandra: Do u believe in box office collection or critic acclaim for any movie?! If the movie Kites didn’t do well but u loved it, does this affect u in any way?! What do u feel when u loved a movie and found it good from A-Z and then u hear from ppl on websites that it failed, it didn’t work.. how do u react for the news?

Mission Kashmir wasn’t a bad movie, but I liked Fiza more. Good night Sandra, I’ve to go and sleep now and will read your reply tomorrow.

  • Hello Fathiya,
For me personally I don’t put much emphasis on box office collection or critical acclaim. If I like a film it doesn’t matter to me, wether it’s had bad reviews or had particularly bad returns at the box office. If I’ve enjoyed it why should I care what the critics or the accountants say?

I feel that’s the whole point – why should we decide if a film is good or bad based on someone else’s opinion? We should all be allowed to make our own minds up about what is good and bad. So onto FIZA(will re-review MISSION KASHMIR this evening).

FIZA is a good film so it seems a contradiction to say I didn’t really enjoy it. I can upgrade my rating to a 6/10 because watching it again I had more patience with it – and I wanted to see in it what you did. However I felt only a couple the songs actually fitted into the film seamlessly and the rest stuck out like a sore thumb and it was difficult to see their relevance. I know songs in films form part of the narrative and link scenes together, but I struggled to enjoy most of the songs in FIZA, considering the subject matter of the film.

I could see HRITHIK beginning to mature as an actor and KARISMA played an excellent part too. But at the end of the day, even though you know I totally adore HRITHIK, above all others, and have every one of his films to date, FIZA is not one of my personal favourites.

BUT does it matter if I’m right or wrong about it? Not really, because we are all individuals and we all have our own likes, dislikes and opinions. So tonight Mission Kashmir and I’ll see if my opinion rises above 4/10 this time?!

    Have a lovely day

    Sandra x.

  • Hello Sandra, I’v read your comment, u r right, why do we bother if a movie which we loved didn’t please the majority and wasn’t a hit movie.. but I’m on this website mostly to discuss this matter.. why a good movie flops and vice versa..

Some ppl insist that when a movie flops it means that it’s a bad one, and when it wins, it means it’s a good one.. do u agree with what they say.. do u think they r right? Did u watch Love Story 2050 and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, if u did, what’s your opinion about these 2 movies.

U gave in your ratings Lakshya 9/10, Lakshya was a bit boring in the second half, and I didn’t like Preity’s hair style, I think it’s worth only 6/10. Durning the show (Koffe with Karan) if u watched the episode interviewing Hrithik, Karan Johar asked him the following q: If u could change anything in the movie Lakshye, what would’ve u changed? He replied: Preity’s hairstyle.. and he was right, she didn’t look nice in the movie.
Hrithik deserves all the attention, he’s just a perfect actor, doesn’t lack any thing. I know u don’t like Shahrukh, but didn’t u like him in Veer Zarah, Swades, Chakde India & Dil Se.. watch these movies if u didn’t and I’m sure that u will change yr opinion about him.

  • Hello Fathiya,
I do like Shahrukh but not in all of his films. Of the ones I’ve seen I’ll summary in a short sentance what I personally thought; but of course it’s just my opinion and I’m sure other people who are die hard Shahrukh fans will disagree.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)…didn’t like, hit f/fwd frequently, just couldn’t see what all the fuss was about. Wouldn’t watch again.

Dil To Pagal Hai (1997)…didn’t like, hit f/fwd frequently, boring unmemorable film. Wouldn’t watch again.

Dil Se.. (1998)….LOVE this, definately a favourite; compelling film.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)….wasn’t sure about at first but possibly beginning to grow on me.

Mohabbatein (2000)….didn’t like, hit f/fwd frequently, again couldn’t see what the fuss was about. Wouldn’t watch again.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001)….LOVE this, one of my absolute favourites (for me mainly because of HRITHIK though).

Devdas (2002)…like this one but have only watched it once because my memory tells me the ending was so sad & haven’t been able to bring myself to watch it since!

Chalte Chalte (2003)…was disappointed, f/fwd many times, probably wouldn’t bother to watch again.

Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)….LOVED this because I thought the trio of Shahrukh/Saif/Preity worked well together.

Veer-Zaara (2004)….growing on me, watched it twice now but hasn’t made it onto my list of absolute favourites. Hit f/fwd several times.Possibly unecessarily long.

Paheli (2005)…LOVE this, would definately watch it again, a really sweet entertaining film.

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006)….like this very much not just for Shahruk’s performance. Thought Preity, Rani, Abishek, Amitbah & Kirron were all great in this.

Chak De! India (2007)….was disappointed in this; hit f/fwd many times, incredibly tedious.

Om Shanti Om (2007)…LOVE this film could watch it over and over again! One of my absolute favourites!

All of the above opinions are just mine and I know people will probably be screaming at the computer, and shouting their own opinions. But so they should. I like what I like, I love what I love and I loathe what I loathe, and that all contributes towards these wonderful discussions we all have here.

    Sandra x.

  • Sandra: Thanks for expressing yr opinion about some movies ( I think u forgot to mention yr opinion about LS2050 & JTYJN)

Well.. we do agree for some of shahrukh’s best, and we might disagree for others, it’s ok.. to each is his own. My conclusion is that u love (happy movies) and u don’t like sad ones. Who will forward the scenes of Veer Zara?! it’s a great movie and all the scenes were nice and touching with best songs, but that’s what I think, as u said that u didn’t like to watch Devdas again as the ending is very sad. Some ppl love these kinds of stories which hv some influence on their feelings and make them cry, but some don’t.. don’t like to feel sad.. my opinion is the following:

If u leave the theatre and found yourself impressed, the movie made u laugh and cry.. that means that the direction of the movie was so good, the movie was made by a brilliant director who could touch your feelings with his great direction, but when u leave a theatre with no tears or a smile on your face, that means that the direction was poor, a pastime movie which u will forget about the following day! Am I right Sandra?

  • Hello Fathiya,
I haven’t seen Love Story 2050 or JTYJN yet but definately plan to do so & will give you my opinions about them afterwards. I read that Love Story 2050 didn’t do well at the box office but I do plan to make my own mind up about it, rather than believe the critics!

I don’t only like movies with happy endings. For example I absolutley love Fanaa and even though in the end AAMIR dies in KAJOL’s arms after she shoots him I have watched it several times over – and would watch it again and again. Another thing for me in the Fanaa was that I was genuinly touched by Kajol’s performance and was so convinced by Aamir’s character that I felt I could have fallen in love with him myself. Being affected like that by a performance means to me that the actor really can act.

It’s the same with HRITHIK in Jodhaa Akbar; I was mesmerised by his subtle expressions as his relationship with Jodhaa developed and it was believable that he was falling in love with her. Some actors just try to act that they’re falling in love but with HRITHIK in Jodhaa Akbar you could believe and see he was falling in love.

There haven’t been many films that actually make my heart ache (literally), but Fanaa and Jodhaa Akbar definately did and I was also convinced of the chemistry between John Abraham and Vida Balan in Salaam-e-Ishq….I thought Saif was convincing falling in love with Preity in Salaam Namaste, & Shahrukh & Saif were both convincing in Kal Ho Na Ho. But I don’t only like pure romantic films; after all one of my favourites is Omkara (based on Othello) and that doesn’t exactly have a happy ending does it, yet I thought it was an amazing film?!

One film that has always been in my memory is Dil Chata Hai. I saw it many years ago late night on tv and had been unable to get it out of my mind even six-seven years later. Aamir, Saif & Akshaye were all fantastic in it and each of there characters really affected me. I bought the dvd a month or so back and after I’d watched it I had an overwhleming feeling and thought, “O.M.G what an amazing film, now I know why I remember it”. It takes a lot to impress me and I think if it had only just been released this week it would still have the same effect on me, that’s how good I feel it is!

With regard to poor direction in a film, perhaps for me that was an issue in Fiza, if I’d have seen it in a cinema first I don’t think I would have enjoyed it very much even then. As a said before I don’t get to discuss my passion for Indian cinema because I’m in my own minority, so I do appreicate that I can discuss it here.

I’m really looking forward to DOSTANA (John, Abishek & Priyanka) and am actually going to make a point of going to the cinema to see it, even though I have to go on my own; the promo on Youtube looks so funny! So if you see it we must compare notes, as I hope to do with KITES next year!

    Sandra x.
