A victim in the 2002 hit and run case, moved the Supreme Court on Thursday challenging the acquittal of Salman Khan by the Bombay High Court.
The special leave petition filed by Niyamat Shaikh, who was injured in the accident, prayed for quashing the High Court verdict and a direction to the Maharashtra government and Salman Khan to pay a compensation to him and to his family. The petition is to be heard on Friday along with a SLP already pending before a Bench headed by Justice J. S. Khehar.
In his petition Niyamat Shaik contended that the Bombay High Court has wrongly acquitted the actor by ignoring the material points with regard to the statement of the petitioner before the police and the trial court which had sentenced him to five years rigorous imprisonment.

Havent followed these Salman cases so not much idea about it. Will make a general comment applicable to all persons be it film stars or not.
Have always believed in the principle “Law shall be above all”. Be it Big B, SRK, Salman or myself. So here would also say if Salman is guilty he must be punished as per law and if not he must be spared of all this. No extra sympathy shall be there for him or SRK or any other big star. Have said similar things about SRK and Big B (both of whom I am biggest fan of) also previously.
Justice delayed is justice denied. Hope the legal system improves and starts making independent and timely decisions for all be it poor or rich.

Your comment pretty much summarizes what’s wrong with our country.I have been visiting this site for the past 3 years and I have never read such a disgusting,ridiculous and pathetic comment.So just because we don’t know much about the victim does that imply we have no right to sympathize with him and his family members.Thank God rest of us aren’t like you or else we would have turned a blind eye to Jessica when she was killed or completely forget the Nirbhaya episode because they aren’t our Sisters and why do we need to bother about them and demand justice.

Only brainless people disliking my comment on this article. I never say Salman is inocent but i am talking about our law and order. What is the need of this law and order if rich peoples misuse it. poors can’t get any ‘insaaf’ because when he go to report police. they ask for 50 rupees. then go to Advocate he asks 5000 rupees initially. Most commenter are from metrocities so for them 5500 is very small but for a person who earn 100 rupees daily can’t arrange to get ‘Insaaf’. But this is not done, he go to court for judgement but court takes long time. this is how advocate earn. In villages elders says – this is good to keep distance with black crow (Advocate) and police (I can’t write here what they say).
