Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab has shown a big drop in business on its 8th day at the box office. This was expected because the film was performing in North India and that was due to two reasons – Diljit Dosanjh’s presence and the fact that the film was about Punjab.
But ‘Udta Punjab’ had major competition in North India this week, from Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film Sardaarji 2, which took a record-breaking opening on Friday.
The Shahid Kapoor starrer will now struggle to recover its costs through theatrical business. It might just about break-even when other revenue sources are included, but such films have little or no satellite value. The music has fetched a good price.
Overall, ‘Udta Punjab’ is heading towards domestic lifetime collections of around 60 crore. The verdict of the film is likely to be ‘Above Average’.

@Indicine, agreed that PRDP was not a great movie but it was not a bad movie either , infact it was a good family oriented movie, u r comparing that movie to disastrous Fan (easily the biggest disaster of this decade in relative terms) & dilwale(easily the biggest crap of 2015 by a distance).
P.S- I haven’t watched both of the srk movies & I never ever would , my friends & colleagues who saw those movies told me about them.
And why r u forgetting about your own review system , the way u give reviews to the movies, BB & p.k , two of the most loved & appreciated movies of this decade are given 3.5* and pathetic cheap craps like hny, dilwale are given 4* when in reality they don’t even deserve a single star , u even over-rated movies like prdp & dhoom 3.

Standing ovations from censor board members may be fake but I am confident that sultan would get standing ovation from the movie watching public , Bollywood is awaiting for its 1st real mega BB this eid!

This year I watched Airlift,Ki &ka, Fan and UdtaPunjab. I really enjoyed them but UP was fantastic. I just hope it attains nothing less than semi hit verdict.

sahids tommt was suffering from heavy gulit for influencing the youth in the bad way. He badly wanted to run away from drugs as well as the Gabru Rockstar he has become. But he failed & thoughts of suicide even crossed his mind.
That’s when he met aalia who had gone through far worse throughout her life that too without any fault of her own but still had the courage & determination to overcome all her obstacles and live a happy life as well as fulfil all her dreams.
This short encounter with the nameless character played by aalia gave Shahid a new lease of life and instilled lot of hope in him in his journey to redemption. Also she got kidnapped by those rapists yet again
In front of Shahids eyes who couldn’t save him while minutes back aalia had saved shahid from the mob.
Thus Shahid was also suffering from extreme guilt as well as a new hope for a better life hence he fell in love with him. He even managed to compose a melodious beautiful song inspired from her personality(ikk kudi) which he always wanted to compose but nothing except those vulgar and drug related song used to come out from him.

The reason Salman srk masala movies worked because they were festival release and family nd neutral audience comes in large number to watch a masala film on festival. Just like SOS was a hit on diwali otherwise he would have tank on non holiday!
Akshay signed OMG,SPECIAL 26 when he gave 2 back 2 back big commercial hits HF2 and rowdy. So how can u even say he started signing niche movies due to that? @NVS- It’s such a shame that a Lallu fan is talking about what is a good movie and what is a bad movie since all of Lallu’s movies are utter craps with the only exception of BB. SRK has way too many classics under his name, if he does one or two movie like HNY or Dilwale it doesnt matter. What classic has Lallu to his name? Dilwale, although a bad movie, was far better than PRDP. That’s why it did good business overseas. Whereas after so huge a budget, PRDP was an utter crap, I don’t know how I managed to watch it on TV. It was like I was torturing myself. K786 was release in December and Ongar before it And s26 In starting of February.
Only 2 months gap between both so u think akki signed s26 in 2 months after K786 flopped and finished the shooting, dubbing, nd various other things in 2 months? Anybody can tell that s26 was signed before K786 by looking at difference in their Release. Even this same rubbish indicine said once.
