Salman Khan’s Tubelight has dropped further a day after the Eid holiday. The film collected Rs 12 crore on Tuesday, to take its 5-day business to around the 95 crore mark.
In comparison, Salman’s 2014 Eid release ‘Kick’ collected Rs 21.66 crore on the day after the Eid holiday – which would probably be equivalent to 23-24 crore of business after adjusting for higher ticket prices this year. So in real terms, Tubelight on its 5th day has collected almost half of Kick on its 6th day.
The poor trend over the 4-day extended weekend sealed the fate of the film, which is now looking at lifetime business of somewhere in the 135-140 crore range. It would still need to hold fairly well in the second weekend to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and become the highest Hindi grosser of the year so far (not including the dubbed film Bahubali 2: The Conclusion).
In other words, the lifetime business of ‘Tubelight’ is likely to be lower than the 4-day collections of Salman’s last Eid release ‘Sultan’ which collected Rs 142.15 crore in its first 4 days.

Now I believe katrina is jinxed, salman fans advise him to stay away from her, after she left him he became a blockbuster machine, then ranbir became a flop but managed a hit after he left. So, a failure like Tubelight after Sultan won’t change anything but it will improve things if its taken in the right spirit and as lesson.
Deserved flop. I don’t care how big a star he is but the level of incompetency in this film is truly shocking. It never felt like a movie set in 1980s and script and acting were plain horrific and by script I not only mean the story but words coming out of people’s mouth’s which were like a Hindi soap . It makes me sad that with a different director, actor this movie with it’s subject could have been a masterpiece. But of course Salman didn’t care when he ever has ?
But we have to give credits to Salman and applaud for choosing an unconventional subject and almost off-beat film by coming out of his successful and comfortable zone.
We accept this failure graciously in the right spirit and will move on to his next film TZH

Admit that even the worst haters of Salman Khan didn’t expect Tubelight to perform this badly. Perhaps they expected it won’t cross 300 crores but they didn’t expect this much bad earnings at BO.

SRK had a cameo role in Tubelight but it was a crucial one. So he’s a part of the film. None can take that away.

when CE earn 227cr on eid than very next eid sallu came wid kick on eid and collection given by producers just cr over ce means 235cr. it was not doubtfull every body knows that kick opening was not so huge and wom was also not good but still it mange to score over srk’s CE. but no one raise fingers on salman you can check kick day wise collection. bcoz collection after eid day was dramatically manuplated
