January: Hrithik Roshan’s 4 year old film Agneepath continues to be highest grosser of January, followed by Jai Ho and Race 2. The target for 2016’s biggest January film is Rs 102 crore to become the third highest grosser of the month or 123 crore to become the highest grosser of the month. Update: Airlift has now become the 3rd highest grosser of January, beating the lifetime business of Race 2. The next target is Jai Ho and finally Agneepath.

February: The second month of the year is a dull period for the industry. Not many big films release in February and 2016 will be no different. Ghayal Once Again, Sanam Re, Neerja and Fitoor are the big releases. Excellent word-of-mouth will be the key for any film to challenge the Top 3 films.

March: After February, March has also been a dull month for the industry. This year has a few films that could challenge the top grosser of the month – which also happens to be oldest film occupying the top spot – the 2008 film Race. Priyanka Chopra’s Jai Gangaajal, Sidharth – Alia’s Kapoor and Sons, Great Grand Masti and Rocky Handsome are the big films. All those film hold the potential to make it to top spot, with Great Grand Masti being the biggie.

- Kahaani (59 cr) – Vidya Balan
April: Shah Rukh Khan is the top contender to take the top spot this month. His first non-festive release since My Name Is Khan, Maneesh Sharma’s Fan, will release on April 15. It’s ‘expected’ to easily top the collections of Housefull 2. The other contenders are Ki & Ka and Baaghi.

May: Last year, Tanu Weds Manu Returns did the unthinkable by grossing Rs 151 crore at the domestic box office and Akshay Kumar’s Gabbar Is Back took the third spot. This year, the target for films like Mirziya, Azhar biopic and Sarabjit would be Gabbar Is Back. The Top 2 films could prove to be out of reach.

The above line is enough to describe Aamir success on Christmas. With Clash Dilwale is not suppose to cross D3 & Pk but should challenge 3i, but at the end it was BM who challenged 3i and missed by target because of clash, Dilwale struggled to cross Dabangg 2. This year Dangal rewrite the history again, Sure shot occupy no.1 or 2 position.

There are no major releases in next few weeks and that is an opportunity for Airlift. Mastizaade seems ordinary. And even Ghayal returns is not a very strong release. So there is a chance for Airlift if it trends well.
No interest in movies releasing in Feb and March.
Fan should cross 116 cr. Indicine, I noticed ur mentioning of the word expected in apostrophe. I think ur box office prediction of Dilwale failed miserably so this time u r playing safe :) U should retain ur trust in SRK. But most of all I want Fan to be a classic as SRK has given bigger hits but were average movies content wise.

Housefull 3 has a strong chance of beating Rowdy Rathore. Udta Punjab seems interesting. Have lost interest in Jagga Jasoos.
Raees and Sultan will drown each other if they clash. At least one week gap shall be there for both movies to make an impact and do 200 cr business. If they clash, my heart votes for Raees but my mind votes for Sultan as far as domestic box office is concerned. In international market it shall be Raees easily.
If there is great content in Mohenjodaro then it may topple Chennai Express. Even in worst case it should do 175 cr plus business as Hrithik is coming after a big gap and he is a huge star.
Rangoon is the most interesting release of September but box office wise it can at max target 100 cr and try topple Grand Masti which will be still a tough task.
Shivaay for me is the strongest release of October. Expecting Shivaay to beat ADHM at Diwali. But if the clash happens it might be difficult for Shivaay to cross HNY collections of 202 cr as ADHM is also a strong movie. With a clash even 175 cr will be great achievement for Shivaay.
Expecting fireworks in December. Combo of Amir and Xmas has been incredible over the last few years. Dangal will create havoc at box office if it releases solo which it apparently is. For me Amir has nothing to prove now after delivering such huge blockbusters. My expectation from him now is to deliver another awesome movie whatever the box office returns are.
Overall FAN and Dangal are the top 2 most awaited movies for me.
