Top 15 Bollywood Actors in India – November 2014

The last time we ranked the Top 15 stars in the industry, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were ranked right at the top. That has changed after the release of two big films like Bang Bang and Happy New Year. The bottom of the list has changed a little too.

We have decided to make our ranking system the most comprehensive in the industry. We will be analysing the box office collections of the Top 15 actors. The ranking system will also be divided into three; Top Actor in India, Overseas and Worldwide. The list below is for the Top 15 Actors in India i.e the domestic market only.

  • The list would be based on the net box office collections of an actor’s last five movies. For younger actors, the minimum number of films is 3.
  • Only lead roles would be considered. Cameos, special appearances and guest appearances won’t be taken under consideration. Non-commercial and art films like ‘Dhobi Ghat’ have also not been considered.
  • Dated movies that released before 2007 have not been considered.
  • Only domestic box office collections is being taken into account. Collections from all regional versions have been taken into considering as this list is for the top actors in India and regional language releases affect Hindi business in their respective states. For example, Tamil version will affect business of Hindi version in Tamilnadu / Kerala circuit.

Top Actors In Bollywood

Salman Khan Actor

Salman Khan – Kick (234 cr), Jai Ho (112 cr), Dabangg 2 (160 cr), Ek Tha Tiger (199 cr), Bodyguard (141 cr)
Salman Khan Total Movie Collections: 846 crore (Average per film: 169.2 cr)

Rank 1. The average collections of Salman Khan’s last five films has gone up from 152 cr to nearly 170 crore per film! The superstar is quite clearly way ahead of the competition in the domestic markets and has dominated the box office in India like no other actor in the history of Indian Cinema. Salman now has one 200 crore grosser (nearly two because Ek Tha Tiger collected 199 cr). His success ratio is incredible too  - all his films since Dabangg (2010) have done well. His blockbuster ratio is even better – 6 out of 7 films have been blockbusters or all time blockbusters!

Shahrukh Khan Actor

Shahrukh Khan – Happy New Year (205 cr), Chennai Express (227 crore), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (122 cr), Don 2 (112 cr), Ra. One (125 cr)
Shahrukh Khan Total Movie Collections: 791 crore (Average per film: 158.2 cr)

Rank 2. Happy New Year had to collect Rs 260 crore or more for Shahrukh Khan to topple Salman Khan right at the top of the list. The film ended up with lifetime collections of around 205 crore (still running), enough to ensure that he goes past Aamir Khan at the domestic box office. SRK also became the first actor to deliver two back-to-back 200 crore grossers. His average per film has also significantly risen from 131 to 158.2 crore. The superstar’s forthcoming releases are Maneesh Sharma’s Fan and Rahul Dholakia’s Raees.

Aamir Khan Actor

Aamir Khan – Dhoom 3 (283 cr), Talaash (90 cr), 3 Idiots (202 cr), Ghajini (115 cr), Taare Zameen Par (63 cr)
Aamir Khan Total Movie Collections: 753 cr (Average per film: 150.6 cr)

Rank 3. Aamir Khan is ranked at No 3, not because his films have performed badly, but because he does very few films. Since we take the last 5 films into account, his fifth last release is Taare Zameen Par which released in theatres in 2007. He could take the top spot if Rajkumar Hirani’s PK collects 157 cr or more, and will most certainly reclaim his second spot from Shahrukh Khan. No actor has come close to Salman in India in the last three years, but Aamir has every chance of taking the top spot by the end of 2014. PK releases in theatres on December 19 2014.

Akshay Kumar Actor

Hrithik Roshan – Bang Bang (181 cr), Krrish 3 (244 cr), Agneepath (120 cr), Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara (90 cr), Guzaarish (30 cr)
Hrithik Roshan Total Movie Collections: 665 cr (Average per film: 133 cr)

Rank 4. The release of Bang Bang temporarily took Hrithik ahead of SRK at the domestic box office, but before Bang Bang finished its run, Happy New Year had already released in theatres. Hrithik’s average of 133 cr is fantastic, comparable to the Khans even though he doesn’t always get to release his films during Eid, Diwali or Christmas. To elaborate a little more on this, out of the last 5 films, all SRK films have released during one of the three festivals, except Jai Ho all Salman films have released during the three most lucrative periods in the industry and Aamir Khan too has preferred to release his films during Christmas (all except Talaash). Hrithik got just one Diwali release for Krrish 3 and made the most of it. He will be missing from action in 2015, as his next release is Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjodaro (Jan 2016).

Ranbir Kapoor Actor

Ranbir Kapoor – Besharam (59 cr), Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (189 cr), Barfi! (110 cr), Rockstar (68 cr), Anjaana Anjaani (40 cr)
Ranbir Kapoor Total Movie Collections: 466 cr (Average per film: 93.2 cr)

Rank 5. Besharam was expected to take a good start at the box office and it did, what with the film collecting close to Rs 20 crore on its opening day. But the response was so bad that the film ended with lifetime business of less than 60 crore. It was arguably the worst received biggie of the year, as even a film like Himmatwala held up better over the weekend. If he has to beat Hrithik, his next film would have to collect Rs 239 crore!

Rank 6: Action Jackson has to collect Rs 118 crore or more for Ajay Devgn to go past Ranbir Kapoor and make it to the Top 5 for the first time in his career. His decision to opt for masala-entertainers over hard-hitting class-oriented films has paid rich dividends as the actor has a much larger audience base in the last few years. Action Jackson releases in the first week of December.

  • Singham Returns (139 cr)
  • Satyagraha (62 cr)
  • Himmatwala (45 cr)
  • Son of Sardaar (102 cr)
  • Bol Bachchan (101 cr)
  • Forthcoming film: Action Jackson
  • Total: 449 cr (Average per film: 89.8 cr)

Rank 7 Akshay Kumar: He does more than 3 films every year, yet averages 76 cr per film. Akshay has films like Gabbar, Singh Is Bling and Warrior which could take him to the Top 5. So far, he was competing with Ajay Devgn for the 6th spot, but the latter has overtaken him with the release of Singham Returns. Do note that ‘The Shaukeens’ didn’t feature Akshay Kumar in the lead.

  • Entertainment – 72 cr
  • Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty – 113 cr
  • Boss – 59 cr
  • Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbaai Dobaara – 63 cr
  • Special 26 – 69 cr
  • Fortchoming film: Gabbar
  • Total Collections: 376 cr (Average per film: 75.2 cr)

Rank 8 Sidharth Malhotra: Quickly emerging as one of the most popular stars in the country, Sidharth Malhotra commands a huge following on social media websites like Twitter and Facebook. His last release, Ek Villain, was a huge success at the box office. He deserves credit even though the presence of Mohit Suri as director, Ritiesh Deshmukh and chartbuster music helped big time.

  • Ek Villain - 103 cr
  • Hasee Toh Phasee - 35 cr
  • Student Of The Year - 70 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Bhavesh Joshi
  • Total Collections – 208 cr (Average per film: 69.3 cr)

Rank 9 Varun Dhawan: We said it after Main Tera Hero, we say it again. Varun is one of the most promising stars in the industry, a superstar in the making. In just 3 films, he has established himself in the industry. A film like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, released 2 weeks before Salman Khan’s Kick and during the Ramadan period, has collected nearly 80 cr at the domestic box office. Huge!

  • Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania – 77 cr
  • Main Tera Hero - 54 cr
  • Student Of The Year - 70 cr
  • Forthcoming film: Badlapur
  • Total Collections – 201 cr (Average per film: 67 cr)

Rank 10 John Abraham: John is no longer a solo star. Multi-starrers like Race 2 and Housefull 2 are his biggest grossers. In an ensemble star cast like the upcoming Welcome Back, he is still a force to be reckoned with.

  • Madras Café - 45 cr
  • Shootout at Wadala - 62 cr
  • I, Me aur Main - 9 cr
  • Race 2 - 102 cr
  • Housefull 2 - 114 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Welcome Back
  • Total Collections – 332 cr (Average per film: 66.4 cr)

Rank 11 Saif Ali Khan: Fairly popular with audience in big cities, but has absolutely no following in smaller towns. He has been consistent over the years, but relies too heavily on other factors like trailer, music and director to bring audience to theatres.

  • Humshakals - 63 cr
  • Bullet Raja- 36 cr
  • Race 2 - 102 cr
  • Cocktail - 76 cr
  • Agent Vinod - 45 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Happy Ending
  • Total - 322 cr (Average per film: 64.4 cr)

Rank 12 Arjun Kapoor: The box office performance of an off-beat film like Finding Fanny hasn’t affected his standing in the industry. He could drop down a position in the list after Ranveer’s Kill Dil finishes its run, but Tevar should do him good. The film has received a positive response in the trade and should open very well at mass centres.

  • Finding Fanny –  cr
  • 2 States - 102 cr
  • Gunday - 78 cr
  • Aurangzeb - 23 cr
  • Ishaqzaade - 49 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Tevar
  • Total Collections – 287 cr (Average per film: 57.4 cr)

Rank 13 Ranveer Singh: The poor opening of Kill Dil could affect him, but it should also take Ranveer higher up the list. The film needs to collect 66 crore for Ranveer to beat Saif Ali Khan and rank at No 11. He would make it to the Top 10 if Kill Dill collects 76 crore or more.

  • Gunday – 78 cr
  • Ram Leela - 109 cr
  • Lootera - 31 cr
  • Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl - 38 cr
  • Band Baaja Baaraat - 24 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Kill Dil
  • Total Collections - 280 cr (Average per film: 56 cr)

Rank 14 Shahid Kapoor: The critically and commercial success of Haider has helped Shahid Kapoor go one spot up in the ranking. He sneaks ahead of Emraan Hashmi.

  • Haider – 58 cr
  • R.. Rajkumar - 65 cr
  • Phata Poster Nikhla Hero - 39 cr
  • Teri Meri Kahaani - 29 cr
  • Mausam - 33 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Shaandar
  • Total Collections – 224 cr (Average per film: 44.8 cr)

Rank 15 Emraan Hashmi: The disastrous performance of Raja Natwarlal at the box office earlier this year has pushed Emraan right to the bottom of the list. He awaits the release of Dharma Productions’ Ungli which is the last release of November 2014.

  • Raja Natwarlal – 27 cr
  • Ghanchakkar - 39 cr
  • Ek Thi Daayan - 27 cr
  • Jannat 2 - 54 cr
  • Raaz 3 - 74 cr
  • Forthcoming film - Ungli
  • Total collections - 221 cr (Average per film: 44.2 cr)

Even after 20 plus years, the Khans – Salman, Aamir, SRK – still dominate the industry and are by far the most dependable stars. Hrithik has always been in the Top 5 since he made his debut in 2000. He temporarily took the top spot in 2006, but was pushed back after the release of Kites and Guzaarish. Ranbir is the most popular actor amongst the newer bunch of actors who made their debut after 2006. The likes of Ranveer, Varun, Sidharth and Arjun are the stars to watch out for in the future. Akshay and Ajay will continue to churn out 3-4 films every year. Akshay has a strong lineup, Ajay has Rohit Shetty!

The list will be updated after the release of Happy Ending, Ungli, Action Jackson and PK.

We will also be publishing the ‘Top Bollywood Actors in the overseas markets’ and also the worldwide ranking.

  • I agree with Salman Khan taking the top spot, him or Aamir Khan are the most deserving.
Foh SRK, I’ve never been a real fan of him but it’s undeniable that he has played great roles in his career.I personally liked his earlier works (“DDLJ,kkhh and Darr being one of my favorite where he played a villain).

Hrithik is great actor and he deserves to be in top 5 but he needs to change his policy about 2yr in one film otherwise he will lose his position.
Akki got some very exciting new movies up next year. I really love the lineup

Also Shahid, I love him at the moment, just waiting to see something magical from him to happen with Shaandar, plus I really just want to watch all his upcoming movies, each of them sounds really interesting. He is another actor with good sense of role choices (actually most of names of this last are, its what makes them good to an extent). but in the end I am convinced Shahid got the vibes at the moment to make it to the top 15.

  • So Ranveer Singh has been placed at 13th only because his last 5 didnt do that well ? !
So, according to this list, these Arjun Kapoor,Varun Dhawan,Sid are ahead of Ranveer Singh? ? !
*Lol. .also you said off-beat films won’t be considered. But you have considered Guzaarish!
You are expecting a slow film like Guzaarish to do collection like Kick?
*you have taken some wrong collections.
Kick did 233 crores, not 234 crores! Dabbang 2 did 156 crores, not 160 crores. Agneepath had done more than JTHJ. But in your list, JTHJ did 122 crores and Agneepath did 120 crores.
    * Genre also matters! Salman’s last 5 films
    Kick( masala mass-friendly)
    jai ho( masala)
    Dabbang 2 (masala)
    ETT (Action thriller)
    Bodyguard(masala,love story)
    so all are mass-friendly films.

    srk’s last 5:
    HNY(masala)
    CE(masala)
    JTHJ(romance)
    Don 2(action)
    Raone(Superhero/Scifi)
    all are mass-friendly.

    Amir’s last 5 that u mentioned:
    Dhoom 3(action masala thriller)
    Talaash(thriller off-beat)
    3 idiots( comedy/romance/educational)
    Ghajini(Masala)
    TZP( kids-oriented,educational)
talaash and TZP were not very mass-friendly.

    Hrithik’s last 5:
    BangBang( action,rom-com)
    Krrish 3 (superhero/sci-fi)
    Agneepath( Masala)
    ZNMD (Advanturous,comedy)
    Guzaarish( off-beat,dark film)
former 3 are mass-friendly. ZNMD was semi-mass-friendly and Guzaarish was not a film for mass.

    * TZP,Ghajini etc belong to 2007-08 . So how can you include those films in your list where you’re including films of 2013-14 ?

So, over all film business depends upon so many factors. You cann’t make a top actor list by only considering the BO!
Hrithik got 1 festive release and see where is the film.
And if you are considering the BO, then you cann’t take “Guzaarish and Chennai express” at the same time!
If you take the last 3 films collection, then total will be
Salman Khan = 500 crores (kick 233 crores, jai ho 111 crores, d2 156 crores)

    SRK = 552 crores (205 crores,227 crores, 120 crores)

    Amir = 226 crores (284 crs, 90 crores, 202 crores)

    Hrithik = 548 crores (182 crores, 244 crores, 122 crores)

    Ranbir = 248 crores (59 crs, 189 and 110 crores)

and we cann’t ignore the fact that Jthj,ce,hny all had festive time while agneepath and Bang Bang had no festive time. Still the difference between srk’s last 3 films and Hro’s last 3 films is only of 4 crores.

So considering last 3 films, the ranks will be like
    1. Hrithik Roshan
    2. Shahrukh Khan
    3. Amir Khan
    4. Salman Khan
    5. Ranbir Kapoor
    6. Ajay Devgn
    7. Akshay Kumar

  • Salman and srk both are equally popular but Salman has edge as he is definitely miles ahead than anybody as his films are run only through his name, which is happen with srk in overseas.
But Aamir is truly surprised all with his presence as he is not much popular compare to them but his benchmark is very tough to break.
I am curious to know the overseas list as last time Aamir was just 1 million behind than srk but now he is no. 1 there as srk last release hny complete its journey on 16 million $ and his MNIK is now out of last 5 so he is now even 5 million behind than Aamir.Full over actor k fans ko lagega 440 Ka jhatka.Hahaha
If we see on YouTube, social sites there are no buzz about pk as song videos weren’t find even 1 million hits, teaser got 6.5 million hits but still PK will garner huge response once it release as it’s a silent storm which will come and thrash every film of this year.Just wait and watch guys.
If pk will be appreciated than he will become no. 1 in all ranking whether domestic or overseas and that too with great margin. Hope for the Best.
But as per the recent scenario my expectation with pk is 200-210 cr in India and 15 million overseas. That will be good result but I wish it shattered every possible record.
Waiting for great excuses from kingshuk HNY is non-holiday release after nonsense ki night film hny its supposed to be some srk fans got mental and I think 3 got affected.
1.kingshuk-hny and Don 2 non holiday releases.
    2.sht-nonsense wale-PK 400cr anything less than this underperformance.llol
3.Vikram- or say pickrum I think after hny his only job is to pick and drink rum and than vomet in Nandu Bhide style after all.
    Madar …. Chor naa yaar.

  • For me Akshay will always Remain a King……..As he is the only Superstar who releases about 3-4 films every year…..His Cummalative Gross is huge Per Year….Just take a look

    2007—Welcome-72Cr + BhoolBhuliya-49Cr + Heyy Babby-48Cr + Namaste London-38Cr = 207Cr
    2008—Singh Is Kingg-70Cr + Tashan-30Cr = 100Cr
    2009—Chandini Chowk To China-24Cr + 8*10 Taveer-15Cr + Kambhaqt Ishq-50Cr + Blue-44Cr + De Dana Dan-48Cr = 181Cr
    2010—Houseful-73Cr + Khatta Meetha-47Cr + Action Replay-28Cr + Tees Maar Khan-65Cr = 213Cr
    2011—Thank You-44Cr + Patiala House-29Cr + Desi Boyzz-52Cr = 125Cr
    2012—Housefull 2-113Cr + Rowdy Rathore-133Cr + OMG-82cr + Joker-22Cr + Khiladi 786-72Cr = 422Cr
    2013—Special Chabbis-69Cr + OUATIM2-63 + Boss-59Cr = 191Cr
    2014—Holiday-113 + Entertainment-72 = 185Cr

So yearly Average From 2007 will be = 207+100+181+213+125+422+191+185= 226.12Cr

So I guess Things Should be seen in a different way…..No hard feelings for any other fanBase….Its Just the way i take this…..Lv Yu AKSHAY……Gabbar+Baby+Singh Is Bling will rule

  • star power should be judged by weekend collections of the movie as after the weekend content is the king. Don’t agree with this method.. Sorry indicine team..

    • @wap4, we have been thinking about changing the formula to only include weekend collections. But the problem with that is, people would then ask for separate listing of holiday and non-holiday releases. Some releases get more holidays, some get better periods.

We think lifetime collections is also a good indicator of star-power because films that open well, will eventually collect more because of the huge contribution from first weekend business. Also it is a good indicator of an actors script sense.

  • Very well deserved. The 3 top Khans have each contributed uniquely. While SRK has maintained firm and reliable consistency, Salman has excelled in entertaining (credit to him for ballooning up to the top spot with a streak of unsuccessful films behind him) and Aamir has delivered some truly memorable work. Hats off!

  • Akki has the best lineup for me..Each of his films in 2015 can turn out to be 100crs grossers..

    Waiting for BABY trailer…

  • Just one more film for Hrithik and Guzaarish(30cr) will be out of the context and push his average per film quite high..

    Waiting for Mohenjo-daro

  • By the end of 2015 Bhaijaan will have 8 out of 9 Blockbusters or All Time Blockbusters for sure…

Bhai eagerly waiting for BB and PRDP…

  • By the end of this year AK will surely make to top spot replacing SK & pushing SRK to third place….
But next yr with releases like BB n PRDP, SK will again took the spot….
    Sorry no chances for SRK…..

  • Ajay has Rohit Shetty” – argh, this phrase! it makes no frickin’ sense.

@indicine, guys this not funny, alright?? please show some respect to Ajay sir and and his fans. Please stop saying bul****t abt him.
    hope you edit that line.

  • My Bollywood Counter Point About My Favorite Actors Mentioning Below:

Amir Khan, Salman Khan, Sharukh Khan Actors releases there movies only on festival season so the Box Office Collection India & Overseas i.e. Worldwide will be Blockbuster by Collecting More Crores and Trying to break the records
Whereas Hrithik Roshan & Ranbir Kapoor released there movies mix like on festivals & non festivals where as Non Festival Movies of there collects less Box Office Collection Worldwide which Fails to beat the records.

Allthough Above Actors as i mentioned Are Very Good & Keeping There Hard Working On There Each Movies By Real N Fair.

Best Wishes For The above Actors mentioned To Continue There Movies Journey Towards @ 300 Crore Club @ Box Office Collection INDIA

    My Reviews Dont Fight Here

Proud Of Being Human @ INDIA

  • Bhai is dominating the Box office of India like no other actor in the HISTORY of Indian Cinema…

I’m very proud to be Bhaijaan’s Fan from the days of Maine Pyar Kiya…

  • wow great article indicine it shows that salman is way ahead of others along with aamir.aamir will top the list after pk then again salman will top the list after bajrangi bhaijaan but where is our king kong

  • Where is Abhishek Bachchan? He is not even in top 15. Seriously? Not even after successes like Bol Bachchan, DHoom 3 and Happy New Year? Didn’t Indicine called him the most underrated actor a while ago? Indicine ja tel lene…

  • Starpower decides the opening of a film. Ra1, CE n HNY all took record opening days/weekend & MNIK & Don 2 took record non-holiday openings…their lifetime was down to the content, for example ra1 only did 125cr because of the bad content.

Also in the current scenario, films from 2-3 years back dont really matter much.

  • 5 films isnt the best choice as some of those films will be from 2-3 years back and not relevant in the current scenario since a lot can change in 2-3 years. SRK has two record breakers and 200cr films with CE & HNY, it hardly matters in the current scenario what jthj, don 2, ra1 etc did just like it doesnt matter what OSO did 7 years ago.

  • Yes Khans have ruled the industry fir past 20 years.
We all grew watching their movies.

Salman has style, action. But should stop remaking south movies.
SRK has acting, emotions and his attitude. He also should raise his standard of movies.
Aamir has perfect sense of movie. But should do more movies like 3 idiots and not like talaash and dhoom 3.
But My favourite is Hrithik roshan. Because he is a complete actor.

  • good list indicine.

@indicine- can this question be answered by you in detail?
who is the greatest of all time in terms of boxoffice taking, inflation into consideration, amitabh or srk ?

  • Salman is the India’s No.1 Star, Icon and most generous person, according to most of his contemporaries: Aamir, Ajay, Akki, Hrithik except for a self-proclaimed King. You know who I mean!
It is the toughest thing that your competitors have good words for you!

Well, I am eager to see the change of the positions in the table after PK.

But after the releases of BB & PRDP, he will hold the position for a long time.

A good lyrical composition from a movie fan that you should not miss.

“SRK: Tumhee dekho na, Ye kya ho gaya, Flop ho gai HNY meri, main hairaan hun, tumhe kya kahun, k fatt gai hai lungi meri.”

@Indicine, Kick has been released in Poland. Reports say that it has done 10-15 Crores Gross Business in Poland. Would please track it & add it in the overseas collections of KICK??? Thank you!

  • Whether one agrees or not, Bang Bang had one of the best release periods for this year. However, it faced a small competition in the form of Haider. Yet, it could have done more business had it been more appealing to Indian audiences!
Next year, SRK’s Table Fan will be affected by Salman’s BB as it will be released after BB. Like Jai Ho after Dhoom 3. Most of the audiences can’t simply afford tickets of two consecutive big films!

  • SRK will be on top overseas. Salman in india. so best way to judge this would be to look at the top actor worldwide.

SRK: an actor and a superstar; versatile and can generate hits in any genre; his movies work in India + overseas

Salman: only a superstar; can generate hits only in masala genre; his movies only work in India mostly

Aamir: only an actor; can generate hits only if content is up to the mark; his movies work in India + overseas if content is strong

  • @Indicine, Good that you have said Ajay Devgn has Rohit Shetty! But how can you forget that Ajay is responsible for the successes of Rohit, Aneez Bazmee and Prakash Jha into Bollywood!

OK! How many Hits does Rohit Shetty have without Ajay Devgn? You are talking about Ajay’s last 10 films. I am talking about Rohit’s whole career.

One last question! How many Hit or Super Hit films does SRK have without Dharma (Karan) and Yashraj? Can u kindly answer?
Could u stop us from questioning either?

It is just that some director-actor jodis simply work.

    Salman-Sooraj Barajatya
    Salman-Govinda-David Dhawan
    Hrithik- Rakesh Roshan
    SRK-Karan Johar
    Akki-Priya Darshan-Sajid Khan
    Ajay-Rohit Shetty
    Ranbir-Ayaan Mukherji
Aamir-Indra Kumar (though Aamir doesn’t really repeat the same director again)

  • @Trooper, this is the problem with you srk fans! You fanatics think all your king’s movies are class and others’ films are masalas!
How can u forget your king last two top grossers are out and out masalas. He can’t give a film above Hit without the films being Masalas?

By the way, if you think ETT, Kick, Jai Ho (minus some of its illogical action scenes in jai ho) are Masalas, why can’t Don 2 & Ra.1 be considered masalas? Iss Filmo Mein Kaunsa Class Hai?

They are regular films with the masala concepts.
Only MNIK & JTHJ are a bit offbeat to me.

You idiots simply call Bajrangi Bhaijaan & PRDP before the films have even been completed just because their names sound a bit strange. So, should we call Chakde India too masala because its name sounds strange!

Earlier, Salman used to make Local Indian Oriented Films. That is why they were biggest hits only in India. Or can u even imagine any other actor can pull off a film like Dabangg shot in out and out rural areas to such humongous ATBB success???? Plus, it worked well in overseas.

Some historic hits of Indian Cinema like MPK, Saajan, HAHK, HSSH, HDDCS are masalas???

Last but not the least, in the last five years, Salman has done two NRIs oriented films: ETT & Kick shot stylishly in foreign locations. And you can see BO performances of those in overseas. This proves that he has a huge fan base in overseas as well. But he is not offering right kinda films they prefer.

    Peace out!

  • There should be even more proper system, instead of judging a star by just a few people who watch them on theaters. If possible, you should add how much their films are liked by almost all people, like may be adding TV ratings, show popularities.

Few actors who are in the industry for 1 year or 2 are also amongst the top, and few who have been unlucky to have done bad movies are down; but in popularity, new actors just vanish if they do just 1 or 2 bad movies. For example people forgot, Imran Khan, and with this sorts or comparison mechanism, he was also in the top. I don’t this makes a lots of sense.

    Also, where are the actresses?

  • @Nipun, stop this lengthy nonsense! It is just what you think. It is not absolute! And we know how unbiased and fair you are!
By the way, you said you have to prepare for entrance exams? Then, why r u spouting shits here. If u r lying about that, tu bhi jaa tel lens!
