The ranking system will also be divided into three; Top Actor in India, Overseas and Worldwide. The list below is for the Top 15 Actors in India i.e the domestic market only.
- The list would be based on the net box office collections of an actor’s last five movies. For younger actors, the minimum number of films is 3.
- Only lead roles would be considered. Cameos, special appearances and guest appearances won’t be taken under consideration.
- Dated movies that released before 2007 have not been considered.
- Only domestic box office collections is being taken into account. Collections from all regional versions have been taken into considering as this list is for the top actors in India and regional language releases affect Hindi business in their respective states. For example, Tamil version will affect business of Hindi version in Tamilnadu / Kerala circuit.

Rank 1 Aamir Khan: The combined collections of Aamir Khan’s last 5 films has crossed the 1000 crore mark, the first actor ever to do so. The ‘worldwide’ collections of Aamir’s last film PK, is more than the combined collections of Shahid’s last 5 films AND Emraan Hashmi’s last 5 films. Before the release of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Aamir was ahead of all others, but the gap has closed quite considerably. There is very little to choose between the Top 2 actors in the industry today.

Rank 2 Salman Khan: The superstar has become the second actor whose last films have collected Rs 1000 crore or more at the domestic box office. For Salman to beat Aamir, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ had to collect Rs 338 crore in India. Unfortunately, like Salman and Kabir’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ too has fallen just short of Aamir and Hirani’s ‘PK’. The good news is, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ has to collect Rs 218 or more in India for Salman to take the top spot once again! He also averages more than 200 crore for his last five films, something that only Aamir had achieved.

Rank 3. Shahrukh Khan has dropped down to No 3 in the domestic markets, as his latest release ‘Happy New Year’ couldn’t match the collections of Chennai Express or Kick. For Shahrukh to beat Aamir, his ‘Diwale’ would have to collect Rs 372 crore in India! However, Shahrukh has 3 films lined for release in the next 11 months. If all those films perform well at the box office, the ranking could change in his favour.

Rank 4. The release of Bang Bang temporarily took Hrithik ahead of SRK at the domestic box office, but before Bang Bang finished its run, Happy New Year had already released in theatres. Hrithik’s average of 134 cr is fantastic, comparable to the Khans even though he doesn’t always get to release his films during Eid, Diwali or Christmas. To elaborate a little more on this, out of the last 5 films, all SRK films have released during one of the three festivals, except Jai Ho all Salman films have released during the three most lucrative periods in the industry and Aamir Khan too has preferred to release his films during Christmas (all except Talaash). Hrithik got just one Diwali release for Krrish 3 and made the most of it. He will be missing from action in 2015, as his next release is Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjodaro (August 2016). Till then, Hrithik is likely to hold on to his 4th position as Ranbir’s last two films have been box office disasters.

Rank 5 Akshay Kumar: For the first time since we started ranking actors, Akshay Kumar has made it to the Top 5. Ranbir’s downfall and the reasonably good box office performance of films like Baby and Gabbar Is Back have ensured a spot in the Top 5. However, all of his last three films, including the biggie ‘Brothers’, were expected to be 100 crore grossers. In fact, there were expectations that Brothers would be Akshay’s first 150 / 200 crore grosser. Unfortunately, the film hasn’t worked at the box office. It has an outside chance of breaking into the ‘100 crore club’, but at the time of writing this article (20 August), Brothers is likely to finish with lifetime collections of 90-95 crore.

Rank 6 Ranbir Kapoor: His career was at an all-time high after the success of films like ‘Rockstar’, ‘Barfi’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, but the last couple of years have been terrible for Ranbir Kapoor as ‘Besharam’ tanked after a good opening day and ‘Bombay Velvet’ couldn’t even manage a face-saving opening at the box office. The film went on to be the biggest disaster of all time. Ranbir has also given away his spot in the Top 5 to Akshay Kumar. Will Imtiaz Ali (with Tamasha also starring Deepika Padukone) give him his much-needed hit?

Ajay, however, has some massive films lined up for release. ‘Baadshaho’ under Milan Luthria’s direction. Their combination worked well for ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’. He also has his own directorial venture, the mega-budget film ‘Shivaay’ and the recently announced biggie ‘Sons Of Sardaar’ – both scheduled to release during Diwali. The next couple of years are expected to be huge for Ajay, as he starts working on films that are expected to be strong in content and are commercially viable too. It remains to be seen if he can get the right release date and avoid clashes with other films.

Note: Dil Dhadakne Do has just released in theatres. If the film manages to collect Rs 100 crore, then Ranveer will make it to the Top 10.

It’s funny how people tend to forget the fact that EID became such a huge holiday for films only after Salman delivered blockbusters. Eid wasn’t a lucrative period before Salmania in 2009.Eid weekend is Salman’s creation. Bollywood esp King fans should be grateful that he opened a new date for releasing films from which they benefitted. Eid or not, Salmania will roar.

I am a huge Aamir fan but I also give kudos to Salman. Defaming Shah rukh will mean personal hatred because no one wil dispute he also worked his way like to where he is but with lots of advantages for him which naming them is unnecessary! They deserve top 3 career ranking not this August ranking with only 5 movies. My next interesting point goes to both Hritik and Ajay. For Me they can deliver bigger than akshay with a very good content. Akshay why am annoyed with him is lack of understanding his frustrated fans desire. Tell me the meaning of a movie producer? His functions. Let me name 2. First , making sure all the shooting is being targeted to projection date. 2. Decides to cut some parts of the movie and add some parts that will be more suitable. Takes not of lentgh and songs and then finally the producer is the key man to distribute, market accounts collections and strategize planning. Many people dont know this but today let everyone know esp fools like you saying rohit shetty without Ajay. Note++ from 2010-205 all Ajays 3/5 100 movies had him as the producer while Rohit the director. The role of a producer is huge and its like gambling.

@Hrithik : that’s your thinking not the fact. if you even remove festivals SRK wins with margine & both Decade disasters actor like Salman/Aamir looks more disaster in front of KING then.. as just since 2006 till now (including Salman/aamir’s best phase ) still SRK has 11 hits in a row from 2006 – 2014, has 0 flop, while Aamiri has 9 hits in his entire career ( 1989 – 2014 ) . just 7 since 2006, and 2 flops while Salman has just 9 hits, & countless no. of flops (15 ) you can’t even debate with us.. as your real place is to compete with Armaan Kholi/Ritesh Deshmuk’s fans..
@qasim : kick collected just few croes more despite of big blockbuster south remake and huge no. of more screens and ticket price in domestic but still failed to cross CE’s gross with both Kick and with Jai ho which even failed to cross SRK’s 8 years old RNBDJ that’s is a shame.. forget Overseas. and had less gross than Hny directed by Farah whose last film was TMK & also failed to each touch it in overseas so stop giving lame excuses.. this is shame when each and every Salwoman’s films ( except BB ) failed to touch SRK’s 15 years old films in overseas.. this is called shame..
@Lejhend amiri kaun : Till 2005 decade disaster aamiri – 2/3 Hits lol, lol ,lol.. (all others were flops were flops) while KING KHAN had – 13 Hits . (had extremely less no. of flops).. and SRK’s success no. of films on Diwali >>>> tiny Aamiri’s whole career success no. of films.. ab ye dekh aur log out karke sharam ke maare doob marja..
aamir is like rohit sharma who can hit many double centuries but cannot be as popular as sachin and dhoni

@Ultron then wait and watch. Let dangal release first. Aamir’s one movie is enough for him to get back to where he belongs. Salman’s PRDP is completely different genre and it doesn’t appeal to youth audience or kids. So I dont think it can cross 200 crs. And sultan will clash with raees so again clash will affect it. Aamir will definitely remain at top. And even if one of the 2 can make Salman on top, aamir will easily bounce back with record shattering dangal. You guys are unnecessarily underestimating dangal. Whenever aamir releases his film on Christmas, the history itself speaks what happened. All aamir movies since 2008 released on Christmas have been highest grosser of all time. This record remains unchallenged. And dangal will once again create history. It will definitely cross 400 Cr if content is as strong as TZP, 3 idiots or PK.
@Marshall same way Christmas too was not as lucrative period before aamir storms. It’s aamir who made Christmas the best festival release period after record shattering and historic storms ghajini, 3 idiots, dhoom 3 and PK.

@ sss don’t say Mink film was negativity around because Hindu . Hindus are accepted every thing in Pk film criticized Hindu god & in Baby film was based on Terrorism . Both film has been universally accepted by Hindus .
