Just a few hours to go now, before Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s Teri Meri Kahaani hits screens worldwide. The film is expected to open slow and pick up, if the response is good.
What kind of opening can we expect today? Well, we think it’ll be slightly lower than Shahid’s last release Mausam which did about 7 crores nett business on Day 1. If the reports are positive, Teri Meri Kahani could show good growth over the weekend.
With Hollywood’s summer blockbuster ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ scheduled to hit Indian screens next week (29 June), good content is critical for TMK’s success at multiplexes. Can Kunal Kohli – whose last film Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic didn’t do too well at the box-office – recreate the success of his earlier films like Hum Tum and Fanaa? The pre-release hype is average. Young girls and Shahid-Priyanka fans will want to watch this on the first day, others will probably wait for the reviews. The music, crucial for romantic films like TMK, has been a mixed-bag. Couple of songs like Mukhtasar are hugely popular.

@indicine- you have estimated 16cr weekend for the film if the film is bad(worst case scenario)… but i dont think it will even make 14cr in the weekend… shahid has been in the industry for more than a decade and still hasn’t proved himself or made a mark, it’s a shame!!! ranbir kapoor is definitely the gen new superstar n miles ahead of shahid in talent, acting skills, starpower… abhishek bachchan along with shahid kapoor are big loosers!!! see where hrithik is n where abhishek is…
just saw the opening day collection report by boxoffice india for teri meri kahani is 3.5 crores!!! that is really very poor… pathetic!!! a sure shot flop now.

srk: 50 cr not only Khan film. Also Kumar’s film. Mention that ok. Don’t be proud of Khans only. One man army Kumar can do anything to compete with 3 Khans.
I’m totally waiting for this movie. And I’m gonna watch today only at Wave, Rajouri. Since Priyanka and Shahid made a great onscreen pair in Kaminey, there’s renewed interest in their chemistry with this new film. That Teri Meri Kahaani is their first film ever since they parted ways after a rumoured whirlwind romance also contributes to the curiousity. So much thrilled! Yay!
