Enjoyed doing ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ – Irrfan Khan

Irrfan Khan is one of the few actors who has worked in acclaimed Hollywood films like ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and now he has a pivotal role to play in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’.

Yet, the actor doesn’t believe in blowing his own trumpet. He says he hates the idea of bragging, and let’s his work speak for itself “I don’t like bragging. I hate it. Sometimes people have an attitude that bragging brings something to them, but I don’t want to achieve anything from bragging.”

In the fourth Spiderman movie, Irrfan plays Dr. Ratha, but the actor has hardly spoken about it. When asked why, he says “I definitely do publicity for a film where I feel it is necessary, where I am excited about it, where I feel they need me… I go and do it. But I would like to be in a situation, where I don’t have to do publicity for a film and people understand there is something special about it themselves. The audiences are not fools, they can smell films” he said.

When asked about the length of his role in the film, Irrfan quite frankly denied having a meaty role to play “I don’t have a lengthy role in this film. I did it because it was an experience for me. In Hollywood, they call it as a pivotal role because it moves the story in some way, but I don’t think it’s a very big role. For me, my presence is enough and I enjoyed it”

Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spiderman releases next week in India.
