Tanu Weds Manu Returns has shown incredible growth in business on Saturday, collecting Rs 13.1 crore at the domestic box office.
The collections on Saturday is around 50% more than Friday. In comparison to other films released this year, only Piku has shown better growth (60%), but the Friday collections of that film (Rs 5.32 cr) was much lower than Tanu Weds Manu Returns (Rs 8.75 cr).
While Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do is being touted as the ‘Post-IPL’ release of 2015, it will be Tanu Weds Manu Returns that will take advantage of the first two weeks after the ongoing season of the Indian Premiere League. One of the reasons why collections jumped yesterday, was because it was the first Saturday in the last two months when there was no IPL match.
The film is set to collect around 35 crore in its first weekend and if it holds well during the weekdays, it could be the first 100 crore grosser of the year!

The collections are absolutely brilliant . Kangana is now emerging as a Top Actress of Bollywood . I think the movie has collected this much because of the sequel factor, it is an entertaining movie and Kangana became the next big thing after Queen . Anand Rai is a brilliant director . Performances by all the Actors are fabulous . Kangana, Madhavan, Jimmy, Rajesh Khattar, Deepak, Swara and Ejaz Khan all are outstanding . The most important plus point of this movie is that it is entertaining to the core and it is not dull or boring for a single moment . People in theatre were laughing and enjoying the movie . This year has been a great year in terms of movies such as Baby, Dum Lagaa Ke Haisha, Gabbar, Piku and now Tanu Weds Manu Returns . Both of the characters were played brilliantly by Kangana but the character of Kusum was the highlight of her performance . It was difficult to speak the Haryanvi language so fluently and Kangana hit the bulls eye . It was this character that made the performance of Kangana so memorable .
