The theatrical trailer of Sultan has crossed 1.5 million views and 60,000 likes in about 16 hours after it was launched on Tuesday night.
The dislikes are around 3400, so the general response on Youtube has been pretty positive.
The response in the trade has been overwhelmingly positive, which was expected because Sultan appeals to every section of the audience. There is action, romance and ‘heroism’ which is what the masses love. It also seems to be strong on emotions and has a story to tell, which is what the ‘classes’ or the city audience will like.
Overall, from a trade point of view, it’s a solid 10 on 10 for the trailer. It ticks every box. What remains to be seen is if the music clicks, but even that factor wouldn’t be important or crucial because the film has Salman Khan – whose presence would ensure a big initial.

Good content, storytelling, mature acting and full of entertainment. Initial response without powerful music unveiling. Insha Allah going to break many boxoffice records. Last mixed martial art scenes recall Amitji’s Naseeb fight scenes with the stadium full of Sultan, Sultan, Sultan sounds. Let me tell you this going to be huge, I can see people fighting for tickets.
