The theatrical trailer of Sultan has crossed 1.5 million views and 60,000 likes in about 16 hours after it was launched on Tuesday night.
The dislikes are around 3400, so the general response on Youtube has been pretty positive.
The response in the trade has been overwhelmingly positive, which was expected because Sultan appeals to every section of the audience. There is action, romance and ‘heroism’ which is what the masses love. It also seems to be strong on emotions and has a story to tell, which is what the ‘classes’ or the city audience will like.
Overall, from a trade point of view, it’s a solid 10 on 10 for the trailer. It ticks every box. What remains to be seen is if the music clicks, but even that factor wouldn’t be important or crucial because the film has Salman Khan – whose presence would ensure a big initial.

I am Salman fan but honestly i feel itching to watch same expression again & again. Bowing head in 25 degree & look angrily towards camera direction. This is only expression he can do when script needed him to be damn angry/ intense. Frankly, he is non creativity creature.
Full on commercial trailer. Presence of salman is enough to make this another blockbuster. It will cross lifetime business of Fan, Ra one, don 2, jab tak hai jaan’s lifetime in just 3 days. 3 day total will be around 120. RIP SRK

Sultan is haryana’s Shaan,a champion wrestler who wins every bout but suddenly he loses,his reputation falls,enter aarfa a sprity haryanvi girl ,sultan trains her and in theprocess falls in love with her ,will arfa bring back sultans lost glory and give him redemption,that’s the climax .In between fill the film with cheesy crowd pleasing dialogues,mindless action scenes,item songs ,shirtless salman,over the top acting and melodrama and that’s sultan for u,salman fans go and enjoy the same routine masala film as salman knows he is capable of this only ,who cares how much money it makes welcome to the dark ages Bollywood ,films l like sultan and salman fans would be responsible for Hollywood totally destroying Bollywood only hope is the good quality regional films like sairaat and bahubali if sairaat would have released on eid it would have easily crossed 2oo crores

Didn’t like it entirely but only in patches. Stupid dancing, Anushka being a wrestler, and Salman’s fake accent ruined it for me.
Looks more like a masala potboiler than a good commercial film aimed at entertaining the audience.

200 crores will be easy for Sultan. I can sense the claps and whistles it will receive in the theatre.
Coming to the trailer, no, it didn’t impress me. Salman’s wrestling parts are looking decent. But his acting is looking below par. I feel he can do better in his facial expressions. The dialogues are reminding of a typical Salman film. Anushka is looking good.
The writing doesn’t seem to be strong.
Despite of these wrestling sequences, the intensity is not felt. It was very nicely induced in last year’s Brothers trailer.
Anyway, Sultan will attract the mass, there is no doubt!

Loved the trailer but I was a bit confused. It starts with wrestling background/ olympic wrestling and it moves to Mixed Martial Art type of fighting. Salman using wrestling skills in MMA fighting reminded me of WWE superstar Brock Lesnar… anyway it will be huge blockbuster.
