Ali Abbas Zafar has wrapped up the final shooting schedule of his upcoming film ‘Sultan’, which will release in theatres during the festive weekend of Eid this year.
Timeline:
- Nov 22 2015: Sultan goes on floors and Salman begins shooting for the film without a leading lady. Director Ali Abbas Zafar says, the cast and crew will put their ‘life and soul’ into the film.
- Dec 21 2015: The first shooting schedule of the film is wrapped up.
- Jan 8: After several rumours of various actresses, Yash Raj Films’ announces the leading lady of ‘Sultan’ – Anushka Sharma will be the love of Sultan Ali Khan’s life. She trains for weeks to play the role of a wrestler.
- Jan 21: Anushka Sharma begins shooting for the film.
- March 21: Ali Abbas Zafar announces on Twitter that 75 days of shoot is complete and about 30 days are left.
- April 11: First Poster of the film is released
- April 12: First Teaser of Sultan is released + SRK tweet saying Kya baat hai…Haryana ka Sher aa gaya…Sultan Bhaijaan + Aamir Khan loves the teaser too
- April 13: Sultan teaser crosses 3 million views on Day 1, gets record likes too
- April 25: Last few days of shoot begins as Salman shoots for Sultan in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab.
- April 29: First look of Anushka Sharma is released
- May 1: Sultan Teaser 2 is released, gets mixed response as many on social media accuse YRF and Ali Abbas Zafar of copying scenes from a old video of Geeta Phogat’s story
- May 3: Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees officially moves out of Eid, giving Sultan and Salman the 2nd biggest festive weekend all for themselves
- May 10: Cast and crew wrap up shoot of Sultan.

Kudos to Sultan team to wrap the shoot on time I hope they have not compromised on the quality of content.
