Shahrukh Khan, who was in Chennai last weekend for the VijayTV Awards, was offered a remake of a very successful south film by Ghajini director A.R. Murugadoss.
While SRK was keen on working with Murugadoss, he was against the idea of remakes and asked the director to write a original script.
Times Of India quoted the star as saying “When my friend Murugadoss tells me that there’s this hit film he’s made and he wants to remake it with me, I say, ‘Why don’t you write one for me? The worse that can happen is that it’ll go wrong. But that’s OK; we’d have tried something original’
A source close to the actor tells us “It’s been hard for filmmakers to convince Shahrukh to sign a remake. He has received several offers from top directors like A R Murugadoss and Prabhu Deva, but SRK is against the idea of remaking a successful south film. He believes there is no creative satisfaction from scene-to-scene remakes. If there is a original script, he is more than willing to consider their offer.”

as some people mentioned above…its due to tough action in south movies, srk is against it!!its very clear…which movie other than Don he has performed hardcore action in his career??he’s a flop as action star. not only that to copy exactly needs tough competition to outcast the original hero’s performance. that need guts. only salman and Akshay had that power and talent to do so. nobody else. it needed enormous talent and range to enact HANNIBAL LECTER’s role(Anthony hopkins) in silence of the lambs by Akshay in movie Sangharsh(to an extent) which won him critics award in 1998, Jack nicolson’s role in Anger management enacted by Akshay in mujhse shaadi karoge won him best comedian filmfare award in 2004….. remakes are meant for great actors!!

Secondly, do some research, Ready was a remake of a comedy action south indian movie. It was not an out n out masala like wanted or Dabangg !!!!
