Singh Is King released world wide today and the Akshay Kumar movie is off to a historic opening at the box-office. The preview shows across the country were houseful. Shows for the entire weekend are sold out. In North India, its tough to get tickets for the movie at single screens or Multiplexes.
A few multiplexes are showing only Singh is King across all screens. The movie which releases on more than 1000 prints in India looks set to beat the opening week records set by Shahrukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om and Hrithik Roshan’s Dhoom 2.
With a budget of 50 crores and more spent on marketing, Singh is King needs atleast 58 crores+ to be a hit. The craze and hype will ensure 40+ crores in Week 1, how the movie performs in the second week will be the key. Most movies released on such huge number of prints crash in the second week, but with Singh is King even a 50% – 55% crash shouldnt affect its box-office outcome.

The craze in Pakistan is unbelievable. Most shows are sold out, it will most certainly go on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of all time.
In UK, the preview shows were sold out.. The craze for the film has to be seen to be believed. Akshay Kumar is a big star in UK and the movie is set to beat some serious box-office records. The numbers will be out by Tuesday morning (IST). So stay tuned.
Going by the initial reports our Box office Collections Prediction for Singh is King in India
Week 1 – 46 crores
Week 2 – 21 crores
Week 3 – 11 crores
Rest of the weeks – 10 crores
Total : Around 88 – 90 crores. (Superhit – Blockbuster)
So the question is, can Singh Is King beat the overall Nett Gross of blockbusters like Dhoom 2 and Om Shanti Om? If Singh Is King goes on to exceed the intial prediction, does it mean he has beaten SRK in the numbers game?

Shahrukh has the biggest hits movies, you know DDLj is still continue in getting collection. Singh Is Kinng is grossed an unheard of 29 crore nett over its first weekend. The gross figure is 45 crore.
The film smashed the 22 crore weekend record held by Om Shanti Om by a huge margin. The business is unbelievable all over but the business in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Bihar and Rajasthan is just out of this world. In these territories the first week business will be like the total business of superhit films like Race and Jodhaa Akbar.

King Akshay: who r u to decide that Akshay will be the King of Bollywood?!! Keep your decision for your own, no one can win people’s heart in Bollywood as 2 giants only did ( Amitab & Shahrukh). They r the only 2 giants who deserve the crown, not becuase their movies were super hits or blockbuster, because they won everyone’s heart.
Akshay Kumar wasn’t a loveable actor at his beggings, he was only a good looking but with many failure movies, except some recently. He improved his skills in acting by years of working to win people’s heart, he worked for it very very hard, but SRK & Amitab didn’t kill themselves to be loveable ’cause they have a gift from God only, people love them.
And u LIFEGOESON: ( I don’t know why u have named yourself as this!!) when there r movies online to watch for free, that doesn’t mean that we’re stealing. If the publishers or people who’re encharge of any website did steal, so it’s not out fault, we get free movies online and everyone watch it!. U name it: I’m back from theatre and I didn’t watch Singh is Kinng and the reason is that Bachna Ee Hasino has been released since yesterday so, I changed my mind and watched Bachna Eh Hassino.
And I’m sure that none of you has seen it yet in India because of the release date which will be tomorrow. In Bahrain, the release date is always on Wednesday, 2 days before the release date in India ( and Indicine Team, read my review first as your review definitely will follow by tomorrow.

Akshay Kumar is a good actor but he doesn’t deserve to be the king of bollywood.. no.. Akshay’s acting in Namaste London wasn’t that good, and he wasn’t in a leading role in Bhool Bulaiya, just supported only and “Welcome” movie was a crap ( good 4 those who loves silly comedies) and also in “Hey Baby” his acting was just normal.
Believe me people.. Ranbir Kapoor who is a new actor and did only 2 movies, his acting in Bachna Aeh Hasino is much better than Akshay who spent almost 17 years acting. Just watch the movie and u will know
AKKI just dont stand anywhere near SRK. SRK remains the best of bollywood. How can anyone even try to compare them at all. SRK has given marvelous performances over the years. can any one imagine someone bettering the performance of SRK in DDLJ, Swadesh, Chak de India. He was just superb in so many movies. Box office numbers are nothing. Akki was very lucky last yr and this yr. I will give credit to katrina for helping akki come out of bad phase. but as long as acting is concerned, SRK is way above everyone else. You can forget everybody else after 10yrs from now but not SRK. Nitish: Yesterday I made up my mind to watch it, but when I saw BAH, I called a frined of mine who’s indian and asked her, as she’s seen it on a big screen, if the movie is worth it, she asked me not to do so as she knows my taste for movies and said: Fathiya.. it’s a cheap comedy which u won’t love, and also I’ve sent an sms to my brother who’s the director of Bahrain Cienma and asked him the same question, he said: My daughters saw the movie and they didn’t like it. Therefore I watched BAH and enjoyed watching it thouroughly.
Well, all this hype for Singh is Kingh won’t encourage me to go and watch it ’cause u all did the same for JTYJN which I found stupid and worthless.
If I go and watch it only to see Akshay’s acting and I love to see one song: Jehkarda au Jehkarda, this is a very interesting song.
