Two relatively small films will be competing against Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year during Diwali 2014. One from the director of Aamir Khan’s ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’ and the other from the director of films like ‘Masti’ and ‘Dhamaal’ series of films.
While Indra Kumar’s Super Nani marks the comeback of the evergreen Rekha, Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya will feature the supremely talented Randeep Hooda.

Rang Rasiya: Rang Rasiya is a drama film based on the life of the 19th-century Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma. The film is directed Ketan Mehta, produced by Deepa Sahi and Anand Mahendroo. It stars Randeep Hooda, Nandana Sen and Triptha Parashar in lead roles. The film was shot way back in 2007 and released in November 2008 at the London Film Festival. Release Date: 23rd October
Super Nani: Touted as Rekha’s much-awaited comeback to commercial mainstream films, Super Nani also stars Sharman Joshi, Shweta Kumar, Anupam Kher and Randhir Kapoor. The light-hearted entertainer gives a strong message to women that their power lies within themselves. Rekha plays the role of Bharti Bhatia and Sharman essays the part of her grandson in the movie. Release Date: 24th October

Tell Me O Khuda was promoted by our king… He also promoted afew other films heavily like Jackpot and made a cameo appearance in Yeh Hai Bakrapur but less said about those debacles the better ok

They have nothing to lose. They can’t affect HNY’s outcome either. As JC said, there will be some outside chances of them cashing on Diwali holidays, but RR’s content is bold, so family audience will most probably stay away from it and many people may not even hear about SuperNani without good promotion, which could turn out to be a decent entertainer.
The Inside Story of Super Nani Revealed:
Rekha is playing Nani, but ofcouse. But how did she become Super Nani?
Well, the story goes likes this somewhat – Rekha being the Nani, and we know whose Nani, but Krrish’s, is at home bored, as Krrish goes about saving the world and his newborn son too is on the course.
She suddenly realises that her hubby’s computer, from where it all began, is still at her house.
She starts it and sends the message : Ding Ding Ding Dong, Dong Dong Ding Ding.
Bang ! Jaado is back.
Nani asks her to grant power, as she can’t waste her life in the mountains anymore.
Jaado falls for her cute granny charm and give her the powers.
So, Rekha Nani becomes Super Nani.

I just realised there a big mistake in the Revealed Inside Story.
As Rekha is Krrish’s Dadi not Nani. lol.
Hence, for further improvement in the story with some logic and indepth VFX work, the inside story is postponed for release for next 6 months.

Randeep was soo good in Highway! Just loved him. Looking forward to his next movie aswell. I’m sure it will have a story better than the other competitors sharing same release dates.

@JC — At theaters near you dosen’t literally means theater near you as people have to use army search for searching theaters and magnifying glass in papers to find out which thaeter is playing RR and SN and their list respectively. lol
