Ever since the news of Shahrukh Khan being detained in the US, broke. It has been a huge topic of discussion. One reader has dropped some questions for us to answer in the Ask Us section, he claims the incident is nothing more than a publicity stunt for SRK’s upcoming film My Name Is Khan.
1) Shahrukh did not accompany his baggage. So the US customs questioned him about his baggage where abouts. He was kept in a room for more than one hour. What is wrong with it? He was not beaten, he was not stripped of his clothes, he was not even abused. What is the problem?
2) As SRK has been to the US many of times but why only this time he faced the problem. Coincidence? I dont think so
3) In his first speech after this happened he said becuase ‘my name is khan’ clearly promoting his movie. As the news is international and his next movie is distributed by Fox studios, is it just afterall yet another publicity stunt for his film?

Chicago (USA): Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan said on Sunday that he does not feel like stepping on American soil any more, but it is the love and affection of millions of his fans in that country which would bring him back again and again.
The American Indian audience were stunned when Khan announced this. Khan also ruled out seeking an apology for the incident.
Khan was detained and questioned by US immigration officials on Saturday after his arrival in Newark International Airport, in New Jersey.
Khan was in the US to attend a South Asian related programme.
Driving straight to the venue of the function in Atlantic City, Khan told the audience “I was treated shabbily just because I happened to have Khan as my last name.”
Khan expressed displeasure at immigration official for not allowing him to use the cell phone to contact and inform local organisers.
Meanwhile, the United States has denied the allegations that Khan
was detained and questioned for two hours at the airport because of his name or Asian identity.
US Customs and Border Protection spokesperson, Elmer Camacho said the allegations were untrue and added that Khan was inspected because his baggage had not yet arrived.
“His documents and papers were checked and found to be in correct order,” Camacho said.
Khan performed at the South Asian Film Carnival in Chicago along with other Bollywood stars such as Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Diya Mirza.
So anybody who has doubt it, he can stop know. This is compeletly publicity no doubt.
There……. Thats exactly what i thought. This cheap publicity seeking superstar just jumps onto any opportunity for publicity. He has nothing to loose. From what i heard, his baggge was missing… he was checked by the official till his bags arrived. Then we was let go. Maybe he was notallowed to use his phone as it was a secure zone. His ego was the culprit at that moment, he couldnt believe someone as big as him could have to go through this. But soon realised it was a great opportunity to get some cheap publicity.
MR SRK there are some secrity procedures that is common for everyone dont fuckin expect everyone to know you and lick your a**.. like in India. You may be a superstar here but dont expect people to recognise you and treat you like an icon everywhere. Expect for the Indian community in US the pure americans do not even know who shahrukh khan is.

Shahrukh has made crores of rupees from shows in USA, a safe country. Do you know why he has not done shows in Pakistan and Afghanistan? Because of lack of security! So you want security but do no want to follow security rules? Are rules meant for other ordinary Indian and American people?
Is SRK trying to be an equal of Dr.Kalam? He may be an icon for the bollywood industry but he is neither a country-representative from India nor a high government personal on an official visit to the US. He is there to make money for himself on a work permit, so the US has every right to question him for the sake of safety of their own country. If Dr. Kalam was silent on being frisked, does SRK think he is a greater personality to be revered? Lets be frank, what has he done for the country apart from making money for himself? Nothing, right! Then why this furore. If he is so unpleased with US, why does he agree to flying to US every month-only to make money??The humble cover he tries to put on always had been uncovered by the man himself…

If not publicity for his film, the surely he’s gained a lot of publicity for himself! He completely followed the Shilpa Shetty trajectory! Arnold Schwarzenneger wouldn’t have cared a fig to invite this Indian actor, but now he’s inviting him…Why? All due to this humongous fuss, drama and publicity tactics created by him and his partners in crime (oh sorry! I mean, ‘colleagues’ like Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Juhi Chawla and Miss Priyanka Chopra!). Every person has had to go through normal security procedures – be it our cricketers or even stars like Amitabh (who isn’t even a ‘khan’!) none of them cried like a baby the way SRK did! And mind you, he won’t stop cribbing until he has generated enough hoopla that makes even President Obama, invite him to dinner (just like Shilpa Shetty, who later got to dine with the Queen of England!). I wonder if authorities and media in countries like UK and USA are so foolish that they readily play into the publicity stunt trap laid out by these Indian actors like Shilpa Shetty and SRK…?The UK ad US authorities should be smart enough not to give free publicity and undeserved ‘honorary invitations’ to these wannabe ‘global celebs’!

People like SRK and his entorage are more like “Global Warming” , They have a bad affect on the entire world.
He has classic traits of an insecure person such as the following:
An insecure person becomes overly selfish. He tries to surround himself with possessions, accolades and attention.
Insecure people tend to be very defensive and cannot handle criticism.
Insecure people are self promoting and constantly talk about themselves. They need validation from other people for their actions and qualities. ….ha ha don’t we all know someone like this?
Over competitiveness is also a sign of insecurity. They are scared of losing and so they always keep themselves at the edge.
All I can say is that, anyone who has got anything to do with this near and far is just trying to take full advantage of it. SRK has been to the US so many times before, just this one time he wasn’t recognized and all hell broke loose. Indians went crazy burning flags and all. Now they want to give the same treatment to American celebs who come to India. I mean if they are going to do it they should only do it because it somehow benefits the security of the their country. Don’t just do it because they want to teach the US a lesson to get even. Sheesh!! that would be doing it for the wrong reasons. Why can’t indians just digest the fact that in US “everyone is equal before the law”. SRK kept on saying he was so embarrassed but when he saw the situation escalating he retracted the severity of what he had said since he knows just how much the public follows him. Just upon his saying there are people who I’m sure would commit murder. I don’t know exactly what happened at Newark its their word against srk, but if it was just a routine security check it sure was blown out of proportion. They say they only detained him because his baggage had not arrived, however if it was racial profiling that is a different matter. I understand the need to protect our borders, but the authorities didn’t know who srk was is that such a big crime? It happens. I really don’t like the way Indians always call every experience like this racial profiling. Maybe the authorities at newark were just doing their job. Seriously get over it people its not like they crucified srk.
@SUDEEP: Listen man hav u ever been to an airport, and if u hav u should know waht a proper security check is and not those ones where the security check lasts for 2 hours. God man this aint a publicity stunt, use ur brain plzzzzzzzzzzzz.

This film has not even released and yet its making world wide waves and many people out there just cant wait to watch this movie..cuz its the return of the very famous trio, Karan-SrKajol .. what the heck is the need to promote this movie just as of yet..when there is like half a year left till the movie’s release date. Look for all those that hate SRK or the whole airport thing, why are you on this site reading news about him anyways? If you didn’t care and hated him so much you would avoid being on sites that have anything to do with him or posts of the same nature. Why not leave and let the rest of us SRK fans moan and lament on the incident and go and get on with your lives.
