Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone won the top acting honours at the Screen Awards 2016. Kabir Khan was declared the Best Director.
The popular awards were swept by Shah Rukh Khan, who won two awards. One for the Best Actor (Popular) and he shared the Best Jodi award with his Dilwale co-star Kajol.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) and Priyanka Chopra (Bajirao Mastani) won in the Supporting Actors category.

it’s a shame that ranveer who doesn’t really deserve won the award over the best deserving. according to me salman was brilliant in bajrangi bhaijaan and definitely his performance was the best of 2015. he not only ruled box office but also gave the best performance of the year and of his career as well. it’s now proved that all the awards and jury system is fake.
this is utter disgusting. srk doesn’t deserve any award for dilwale. his performance was just crap and over acting. salman was much better in BB and his performance was really an award worthy. he should have won the award.

Till last year this awards had only 1 category for Best Film, Actor, Actress. And now they have two??
I mean this year too they have outstanding winners! Piku for Best Film over Bajrangi Bhaijaan or Bajirao is such an inspired choice! They used to have such out of the blue but totally deserving winners like Udaan and Paan Singh Tomar for Best Film but dividing the categories into Popular and Critics devalues and demeans the value of this award and makes this no different than all other awards.
