Ranveer Singh, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone won the top acting honours at the Screen Awards 2016. Kabir Khan was declared the Best Director.
The popular awards were swept by Shah Rukh Khan, who won two awards. One for the Best Actor (Popular) and he shared the Best Jodi award with his Dilwale co-star Kajol.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui (Bajrangi Bhaijaan) and Priyanka Chopra (Bajirao Mastani) won in the Supporting Actors category.

yes.. we all love Shahrukh Khan, but this is not his year because his performance was not extra ordinary that he’d win the best actor popular award – let the judges wait for next year for his film Raees, am sure he’d win next year!! It’s Ranvir Singh who deserves the award in this category for 2 films DDD and BM, he won the best actor for sure but it wasn’t necessary for Srk to win this year in the category mentioned.. instead.. they could’ve selected Ajay Devgan for Drishyam, or Salman Khan for BB
Shahrukh/kajol could’ve win only for best Jodi with Kajol ( also best Jodi doesn’t require any efforts.. so why this category in some awards function?!! I just don’t understand it!! why there’s no: Best costume design? why there’s no best actor in a comic role? why there’s no category for best song of the year.. only for: best playback singer ( the name of the winners mentioned but didn’t mention for which song.. so how would we know?!!
