The Supreme Court will hear the Maharashtra government’s plea challenging the December 2015 Bombay High Court verdict acquitting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in a 2002 accident case – after the summer break of the highest court in India.
A bench comprising Justice Jagdish Singh Khehar and Justice C. Nagappan on Friday, while recording the statement by Maharashtra government said that it was not necessary for it to file any rejoinder to the Bollywood star’s March 17 affidavit, directed the listing of the matter after the summer vacation.
The apex court had on February 19 issued notice to Salman on the state government’s petition, and he, in his affidavit, told the apex court that he was not driving his Toyota Land Cruiser when it killed a man in Mumbai in 2002 but police were trying to implicate him in the case.

@Challa, Besides the late Ravindra Patil, there were two more witnesses in his car: Singer Kamaal Khan & Driver Ashok Singh. They are still alive. I wonder why they have been taken as the strong and serious witnesses rather being paranoic over the late Ravindra.

@Challa, since Patil so scared of being cross-examined by the defense lawyers (which is their job and the accursed hires them because he has the right to defend), he should not have lodged an FIR against Salman Khan in the first place. Being a policeman, he might have been well aware of court procedures.
He lodged the complaint, then he had to finish it.
Besides, my thought is that someone (especially, it could be now the hopeless and fading star) immediately after the accident, called him up and asked him to lodge FIR against Salman by promising him to pay money. So, he ran away when he was unable to lie anymore. Or there were other two prime witnesses as well. Don’t take me harsh.
Because it is something seriously fishy when one’s own family disowns him/her.

Judicial justice aside how can you turn a blind eye to the kind of suffering he went through bcos of this accident , he suffered so much mentally , psychologically , professionally & personally and is still suffering to this day. A 10 year or 15 year official jail term too wouldn’t have qualitatively sufficed to the kind of suffering he is still going through since the last 12-14 years or so, if you believe in God and in karma then believe that Salman too has been dealt fairly by the God.
Only 2 or 3 people know if Salman is really guilty or not and then rest are the stories , Salman fans believe that he is innocent and other people believe in other stories but whatever it is we need to respect our judiciary and wait till the final proceedings , until & unless proven guilty Salman is good a ‘saint ‘ as srk is.
lastly I just want to add that even if Salman gets officially jailed or not for that accident ,in the God’s court of justice he has been fairly dealt with and if he is still to deserve more then the shadow of karma is always there so don’t worry about him and instead try to kill your jealousy , envy & hatred towards the Bollywood’s biggest megastar , karma is a btch so who knows tomorrow srk might get involved in a road accident and that too intentionally !!

One night Salman decided that he want to kill someone, he got drunk heavily & drives his SUV purposely over footpath on homeless poor people. Actually he wanted to kill 4 people but fortunately only one got killed. So any of their family members will rammed their vehicles accidentally on any poor they will take their family member directly to court n urge the court to punish them as they plan n killed a life intentionally. Not to mention that every 4 minutes there is a fatality in India, how many comments or essays do we see from these SRK fans for so many deaths if they really care about poor, victims & law ???

Anyways I am justifying srk,what he did was wrong so let’s not debate about it any further.Maybe srk lied to her to gain sympathy.
Coming to ravindra patil story I am not a human rights activist and by the time he had died I didn’t had any access to Internet so his story was known to me only a year back.And the only thing I could do is publish his story here.Also I have commented on TOI and various youtube videos about the Bihar incident.I am only a student so it’s the only thing I can do to change minds like you.I don’t why but all your arguments are similar to the present ruling government where every time you question them they would reply where were you during xyz incident. And irony is you people have criticised them.
Regarding the accident happening in india every 4 minutes I am sure if it’s a common man he would have been put behind bars and by this time would have completed his jail term.
