After the success of Wanted, Ready and Bodyguard, Salman Khan has been labeled as someone who only acts in remakes of south Indian hits. He has been accused of playing it safe, by doing films that have already proven to be hugely successful at the ticket-window.
“King of Remakes”, “Remake Khan” are names that are often used to bring him down. But a quick glance at some of the films that he has done in the last 5 years, reveals a different story.

To sum it up, Salman has been a part of 3 remakes in the last 5 years, 2 films inspired by Hollywood movies and 13 films with original scripts. What’s more, none of his upcoming films are remakes.
Also, it’s not Salman alone who has appeared in remakes. Have a look!
- Shahrukh Khan – Don was a remake of an Amitabh Bachchan classic with the same title. The SRK produced Billu, which featured the actor in an extended special appearance, was also a Malayalam remake.
- Aamir Khan – One of Aamir’s biggest hits in the last decade – Ghajini – was a Tamil remake.
- Akshay Kumar – Has appeared in 3 remakes in the last 5 years – Khatta Meetha, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Heyy Babyy. His upcoming film Rowdy Rathore too is a remake of Telugu hit Vikramarkudu.
- Hrithik Roshan – Who once vowed to never be a part of remakes, will be seen in Agneepath which again is an official remake of an Amitabh Bachchan classic with the same title. To be fair to Hrithik, the story seems to have been changed and the treatment is very different too!
- Ajay Devgan – One of Ajay’s biggest solo-hits too is a remake – Singham!

Update: A few are asking about Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick. Agreed that Kick is a remake of a Telugu film. But it’s not 100% confirmed yet. Shirish Kunder was supposed to direct it, but he has now backed out. Unconfirmed reports say, Surender Reddy who directed the Telugu version will be directing the Hindi one too.
Still, it’s unfair to single-out Salman Khan, when half the industry is remaking films. Rowdy Rathore, Agneepath, Ek Deewana Tha, Bol Bachchan, Son of Sardar, Players etc are all remakes.

Almost all his movies with original script(except Dabangg) were flops……So Salman got that he can never succeed in originals so he started copying south and remade their movies!! …and he succeed this time!!

Guys the first effective drop for Don 2 has been seen today….which is quite natural for every film…..according to BOXOFFICE REPORT.NET,.Don 2 may collect 6.5 crore all over India including all versons…..but still it is heading for 3rd biggest week collection of 2011 …….what do you think guys ……will it able to jump on its coming holyday……

Aamir: Mr pseudo perfectionist. He is the biggest fake in the industry. most OVERRATED acting wise. Only time he impressed me with acting is RANGEELA.
3 IDIOTS: became 200+crores ATBB cuz of show stealing comedy acting from Sherman Joshi, boman irani & that “bhalatkar” scene kid. hit songs & Hiran’s direction. Aamirs chanchad character is the least interesting & talked about.
Ghajini: is a remake of a remake. Nolan’s MEMENTO is an absulute masterpiece. Aamir perfected nothing. Go watch Guy Pierce’s chilling performance in MEMENTO. Aamir in remake looks like cartoon joker with chocolate face yelling overracting endlessly. nothing special.

SRK is huge risk taker. After Ra.One, he has become the biggest risk taker an industry ever produce. brought new technology SFX, CGI & VFX to india which were impossible.
In india, commercial garbage masala & cheapness sells. Just look at Salman’s disguesting scene-2-scene remakes. SRK’s Ra.One had NO comedy, NO romance in Ra.One just a father & son relationship & still made 120+crores at BO sheerly on SRKs star power. no stupid garbage “ITEM NUMBERS” that salman relies heavily to cross 100+crores.

Pagal ki targa promotion ki choor khan ne..3d main release ki , bodyguard se double ticket charge kiya, 3400 screens main release ki And that’s y it did 115 cr business which about 10 crs less than ready’s business on 1600 screens and half the ticket price .. And u r talking about star power… Srk can only dream to cross 125 crs of ready rest aside dabangg and bodyguard .. Choor khan Kitni Bhi chori kerle Salman ke Kareeb Bhi nahi aa sakta… Choor khan.. Yash raj ka chamcha. 90% of srk’s hits are either by Yash raj or dharma… Aditya and Karan… 2 best directors in the industry. Do u know what risk is.. Salman has worked with maximum number of first time directors, banners, and actresses. Yash raj banner made srk famous but Salman made many banners famous. Srk’s official name from now on us Choor Chamcha Khan
